I think this is the best gay movie I have seen. Brokeback Mountain was amazing too, but if Save Me had the same publicity Brokeback Mountain had, maybe Save Me would be even more known and popular. TO ME, at least, Save Me is the best.
No matter how hard being gay is, lying to ourselves is a hell in Earth. We're lucky to live this time. All thanks to brave men that began the Gay Prime Movement at the 1970s. But now, at the 2010s, it's stronger than ever.

When Gant's character said 'Jesus never said anything about homosexuality'. I just shook my head. Is that supposed to mean it's okay. Singularly one of the best gay/Christian-themed movie made to date. "Save Me" captures the arrogance of the Christian in his out-of-context interpretation of Bible verse. Great to see Robert Gant and Chad Allen. Judith Light is always tremendous too. Billy Joel's "And So it Goes" sung by Jennifer Warnes is a particularly poignant touch at the end.

I urge evangelicals to see this film, as it is not an attack on evangelical faith but a thoughtful and complex examination of that faith's relationship to LGBT people and culture. I am an evangelical myself, albeit a gay-affirming one, and I loved the film. Even Christianity Today gave the film rave reviews, which shows you how successfully Chad Allen communicated his, as always, compassionate message.

Judith Light's performance is worthy of an Oscar. Thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. The adorable Chad Allen is always consistently great. Robert Baker (Lester) is also amazing. Stephen Lang's take on his character is sublime. If you keep up your acting technique up, you won't have an acting career, Robert Gant. Internalize the role you're playing, and stop being like the early Anthony Hopkins... When you get your act together, you could be the next Christopher Plummer.
Well the way I think about it is, God created man and woman and it says clearly in the Bible that a man and woman should unite and become one so even though it may be hard to control feelings towards the same gender, God didn't make us to be like that. He created us to reproduce (among other things) and a guy & guy unfortunately can't do that. Same with girl&girl although they've got things for that now..

I have plenty of friends of different religions, i don't agree with them but it's their belief and that's fine with me. AS LONG AS they accept that i don't have a religion. This was such an amazing movie. A must watch, the acting in this was well done and the storyline was even better. Very uplifting, goes to show you can't teach a gay dog new tricks.

I saw this movie. It was actually pretty powerful. I appreciated how they at least showed that people who help people try to "change," at least do it out of sincere love as Judith Light expressed in the movie.

I have plenty of friends of different religions, i don't agree with them but it's their belief and that's fine with me. AS LONG AS they accept that i don't have a religion. It works both ways i won't tell you you're wrong (after all how do i know?) if you don't tell me i'm wrong.

This was such an amazing movie. A must watch, the acting in this was well done and the storyline was even better. Very uplifting, goes to show you can't teach a gay dog new tricks.

My upcoming film shares its name with this film, and I never knew until now. My original script was about homosexuals, but I changed it for fear of not finding any willing actors. As it turns out, my film doesn't deal with homosexuality but my leading actor is actually gay. Irony at its bitchiest.

I'm gay and Christian myself, and happen to believe that God made me gay - and that God thinks it's wonderful that I'm gay!
However, some people interpret the Bible differently from me...and Tripthelightfilm is saying that some Christians focus way more on homosexuality than anything else they read in it.

Yes, there is a part that says "If a man lies with another man, he should be put to death" BUT there are parts that say 'If you beat your slave and he survives another two days before dying, he shall not be avenged" there are parts where it says "A boy who disobeys his parents should be stoned to death" there is a part that says "If a daughter is not virgin when she marries, she shall be brought before her father and stoned to death."

Here is my opinion, completely unasked for:
I think that in Christianity, homosexuality is clearly stated to be wrong, but it's also clearly stated that any sin should be looked at the same. I think Christians blow homosexuality way out of proportion, and if they're going to go so crazy about homosexuality they should go just as crazy over sex outside of marraige, and looking at porn. Or thinking lustful thoughts towards a woman, for that matter.

I saw this movie. It was actually pretty powerful. I appreciated how they at least showed that people who help people try to "change," at least do it out of sincere love as Judith Light expressed in the movie.
