Bobby George said that as part of hankeys contract the 11k he won for reaching the semis would have to be given back if he left for the pdc after the tournament so 2 hours before the match hankey said that he wouldnt play unless they took this out of his contract ;)

@real85er I read it was because the BDO didn't want Hankey to move to the PDC as their champion. It could still happen though as Kist and O'Shea are offered tour cards with Harms but whether they actually will remains unlikely.

@NilisLuc10 Ted's darts are only 14 grams so his darts will suffer greatly more than others. I have no idea what weight Christian Kist's darts are, but his throwing action forces the dart more forward, whereas Ted relies on flight.

The BDO is finished, sad but true. Ted is only doing what everyone in the BDO (ADamas aside)eventually does - switches to the PDC. This is the first year ever that I didnt watch any BDO games apart from the final. Even the BBC is losing interest. Olly Croft has now gone but really its 20 years too late. I like watching Ted and think he will be good for the PDC - he'll need to keep his cool though with some of the fans

I taught Ted would be far worse in this interview to be fair he acted like a gentleman what happened and it practically knocked him off because he lets things get to him.Ted is a great player but even though he will probably up his average in the pdc i dont think it will be good enough.Another thing is the crowd at lakeside are more controlled then at the pdc so i Ted will probably lose his rag at the first sign of booing and then they will jump on him.

Ted leaving the for the PDC signals the end of the BDO.

I say good luck to Ted it's a great move for him, he is certainly capable of winning the title over there at the PDC.

Ted had the match there for the taking but let it slip.He should have ignored the fact that the air condion system came on,used his experience,ignored it and won the match.He could then have joined the PDC as BDO champion...He will be missed at lakeside but of late for all the wrong reasons.I used to admire his skill and concentration strengh but Bobby George summed him up, these days he tries to put opponents off by getting up to his antics but is good enough to beat most without doing it!
