  • I don't see how slavery can be linked to homosexual acts. I believe that God loves the sinner, but hates the sin therefore he hates homosexual acts as they are a distortion of what God intends for us.

  • This man is no more a bishop than my cocker spaniel. His orders are invalid because the "church" that conveyed the orders is false and has no power to ordain. This is why the episcopalians are in a muddle, submitting truth to popular vote, and why this phony enterprise that worships man and only man will implode. All protestant denominations will follow suit.

  • Part 2

,,,Match their own since their Biblical views and our Lord's will MUST be one and the same as far as they themselves are concerned.

  • But the Bible does not justify slavery, it condemns the practice see Ex21.16. The NT recognised that in the Roman world slavery existed, & there wasn't anything the NT church could do to change that.So it wasn't the Bible that justified slavery,it was people who twisted the Bible to make it mean what they want it to say. The lesson to learn from that is *don't twist the Bible to make it fit your agenda* - & that lesson doesn't support Robinson - it totally rebukes him!

  • "Bishop Gene Robinson believes the Church should changes it's views on homosexuality." of course he does, he's not a Christian. Why would any non-believer want to live by what the Bible teaches?

  • inrsprt:

By your logic, King James (Yes the same King James as in "King James version of the Holy Bible") must be a satanist for clearly twisting the Holy Word of God, as this King obviously did precisely that.

  • He may be gay and have a righteous struggle but to compare the issue to slavery so glibly is wrong! The only reason we don't have slavery anymore is because it no longer made economic sense. This is a different argument.

  • @wiltord76 That bit about slavery is just not true. The South suffered terrible economic problems when they lost their free labor. And his point was that people used the bible to justify slavery just like people justify the dislike/fear of homosexuals.

  • @juliademo1 he may have used the point admirably but the comparisons are too complicated to be used in my opinion. For one, the abolition of slavery was about more than the South and much wider economic question. And the outrageousness of slavery cannot be compared to homophobia as horrible as that is. In some ways Robinson and others must be careful not to alienate potential support, or at least sympathy, for this cause. Make the case without comparisons, it would be more compelling...

  • @inrsprt He speaks the truth. Your ignorance is not of love but of judgement

  • I don't quite understand why an intelligent person like this is still in an organisation like the church, knowing that this bunch of old men who are stuck in the middle ages will never change.

  • He makes a compelling point, they used GODs word to justify slavery and now they use it to condemn homosexuals.

  • "Gene Robinson is a practising homosexual, therefore God has given him over to a depraved mind."

    Based on?

    "Review Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 18:13..."

Don't forget Lev. 20:9 calling for the killing of children cursing their parents and Deu. 22:28-29 commanding a virgin who is raped and impregnated to marry her rapest.

    ", , 1 Corinthians 6:9, Jude 1:7, and Romans 1;27."

1 Cor. 6-9 centers around two Greek terms. The first term has several definitions. THe second is believed to be... (Cont.)

  • "slavery and womens rights have nothing to do with LGBT type stuff..."

Of course not, since Churches opposing slavery are opposing the Bible which advocates the institution in both testaments. The same holds true with women holding ANY position in authority, since it is Biblically clear women are to be silent and submissive. Homosexuality seems to be the only one of these to which most churches remain Biblically "faithful." Churches just need to stop selectively choosing their "sins!"

  • Part 2

...Paul's own fusion of the Greek words for "man" and "bed." It's increasingly believed that these terms are in reference to prostitution which is NOT reflective of all same gender relationships, namely marriage. But since Paul didn't specify the precise definition of the first word and didn't define the second AT ALL, it's uncertain he was making ANY reference to homosexuality. And Jude era was almost as far removed from Lot's as our's is from Jude's. Since there is no...

  • slavery and womens rights have nothing to do with LGBT type stuff... it is against the Natural law..... Racial Slavery is wrong... but people that are caught in a war.. like in the ancient days it was understood and accepted... and Jesus Christ was a huge Feminist.. he hung out with the girls.. sinner and Saint alike.. same sex sex is just an abomination of nature.. Our Biological purpose is to reproduce... same sex people cannot (naturally) therefor it contravines natural law in most cultures.

  • Part 3

...Reference to homosexuality either by Moses or by the prophets in the OT, it is possible Jude was going by something he'd heard or read that all to evidently did not make it into the Bible. The individuals Paul mentioned in Romans had turned from our Lord and participated in a pagan ritual as Rom. 1:23 and 25 strongly indicate. Would their affections have been any less "vile" if they had been heterosexual and the participants unmarried? The exploitation of this verse by gay... (Cont.)

  • Gene Robinson is a practising homosexual, therefore God has given him over to a depraved mind. Review Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 18:13, 1 Corinthians 6:9, Jude 1:7, and Romans 1;27. Same-sex relationships are expressly condemned, as is all forms of sexual sin. Having an attraction towards someone of the same sex may not be a sin as such, but it becomes a sin when you act upon those feelings and engage in same-sex activies. This is not a bout "hate," but about genuine concern for the unsaved.

  • About his view on woman in the church and how it has changed, I would agree! Their is a prophecy about that In Jeremiah... "A woman shall encompass a man." The word encompass also means "to take the scope of." So when you see Godly woman in leadership, thats just Gods prophecy coming to pass! There is none about homosexuality though! In fact the christian requirements laid out by The Holy Spirit, and the apostles in acts 15 makes it emphatically clear that sexual immorality is not okay!

  • @inrsprt, Satan infiltrates people with weak, corrupt minds, and manipulates you into thinking that God's creations (be they black, gay, left-handed, whatever) are "sinful", when in reality, they are exactly the way the Lord made them & wants them to be. The devil uses you, his minions, to sow discord & hatred among God's children. Sadly, you are too blinded by his dark control to understand the evil you are committing. No wonder you want Satan "behind" you. His pitchfork is up your backside.

  • This guy is a satanist, because he doesnt respect the bible, the bible clearly says that nothing impure will inherit the kingdom of heaven, it says homosexuality is one of the impurities, it says that in timothy. Also the bible didnt approve the slavery, Christ clearly said that his mission on earth is to set people in chains and slavery free. Never did it justify slavery like a must do, but in case of homosexuality, its highly disquised by God, and Holy Spirit, also test the spirits, upon Word.

  • i dont understand whats so bad about what he said... everyone here is going all religious on his ass and i dont get it

  • @catzr0ck Well said. Notice how very un-Christianly the gay haters speak. It is VERY telling, yes?

  • Sadly, people who think this wise bishop is "evil" have been corrupted by Satan.

  • Fabulous. So heartening to see a Bishop not hung up on words but more concerned with the essence of Christ's teachings. We must understand that the Bible, whilst perhaps inspired by God, is ultimately penned by men, and men of a culture and a time far removed from our own. This is the only way to move towards true inclusivity and mercy. Mercy, not sacrifice.

  • Hello Honky Tonk...

  • this guy is insane....

  • @addidutzu Amen!

  • @inrsprt I agree, he's been lead astray by doctrines of demons as the Word would call it. I'm not sure if he was once a sincere minister, but he is a wolf in sheep's clothing now, for certain.

  • IF you want to hear the Christian Orthodox prespective on the subject of Same Gender Marriage, look up on youtube "modern challenges of faith" by logos media productions or click on my user name to view our channel page where you can watch the episode on this topic. .. we talk about slavery, womans rights, civil rights and ofcoarse same gender marriage,...

  • This "bishop" is a teacher of false doctrine, a man who speaks on behalf of his own evil, unnatural desires & also the modern ideology of "liberalism". He has not only refused to repent of his sin, but seeks to justify it by perverting the Word of God & thus lead many others astray. In short, he is completely, wilfully deceived, & is spreading deception thru his lies. He is a Pharisee, a White-washed wall, and a snake - & unless he repents he's going to Hell.

  • @andy7eon -yes very true my brother

  • Slavery existed before the bible and america. Slavery still exists today, my only question is this. If "God" said something, why did humans turn it in to something over so many years. That's kind of disrespectful. Like, why do people say don't take the words of the bible literally? That's "gods" "divine" word, yet people switch it around to mean what they want it to. You christians are fucking retards, seriously. I don't believe in the bible, but I love watching you contradict yourselves. lmao:D

  • @Vaultzero Not all Christians believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God. And even those that do, not all Christians see God as a historian, some think of him as a novelist, and so it is entirely appropriate to mine the Bible for metaphorical meaning.

  • Gene Robinson is a false teacher on just about every major issue of faith

  • @luccikerri my God says its okay: My god is Dumbledore!

  • @1954phyllis well im glad you asked. Basically jesus told me that all stuff about same sex being an abomination was written centuries and centuries ago, around the same time when slavery was legal, men were heads over the women, and where it was written that women should stay at home, be head of the house. He said it doesnt stand today in todays society same way slavery doesnt......He said that one day it'll all be sorted, and people wont be so ignorant and will accept and love one another, joy!

  • @emmateacup That's moronic. Slavery exists today. Slavery is the requirement to pay a debt. As long as there is trade, there is slavery. Old slavery existed before the advent of coinage and banking, therefore it was a system of manual labor. This man is a liar, and male homosexuality is condemned in the Bible very plainly. He does nothing but play word games like the other Secular Liars. You will make a fine pawn for the New World Order, though. Maybe you'll be in the 10% that live.

  • @bigpapadragon slavery is in the bible, it's in leviticus, the same place funnily enough where homosexuality is mentioned

In leviticus it says this about slavery, ch 25- you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property' ....it gets worse saying you can beat slaves...

by the way you're welcome :)

  • @emmateacup Furthermore, why wouldn't slavery be in the Bible? The Bible is historically accurate, and slavery existed. Therefore, the Bible WILL contain slavery. If it didn't, then all the New Age Retards would be complaining about historical inaccuracy. None of your platform makes sense. Furthermore, every 50 years is Jubilee, where all debts are released, but I guess people who don't pay attention to God's law wouldn't know that, would they?

  • @emmateacup God was talking to the people that he had freed from slavery from Egypt. So if he liked slavery why would he have freed them in the first place?..and i did not get the part where it says you can beat slaves because in verse 46 its says you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly..and slavery has nothing to do with being Gay..it is a sin and the Bible plainy says it Romans 1, 1 Corinthians6,..if only people would just accept that its a sin God would forgive them

  • How can a faggot be a Bishop or involved in religion whatsoever? What the fuck is going on with the world today...

  • @CottageLife100 It's evolving and breaking away from the barbaric Ideals of the old world.

  • @CottageLife100 Calling someone a `faggot` is hateful, hate is the sin of murder. I would suggest repenting before trying to drive more people into the desert. You are just as likely to burn as anyone else.

  • Well Slavery wasn't really in yhe bible..and lot's of those rules were created by man and not in the bible. It say's in the new testament that Jesus forgives all sin...Homosexuality is no diffrent..

  • @bigpapadragon Actually, slavery is covered in both the Old and New Testaments. Leviticus 25:44-46 is clear that the ancient Jews could own non-Jews permanently as slaves, to be passed on from generation to generation as property.

In the NT Paul and Peter address the issue (1 Cor 7:21-24; Eph 6:5-9; Col 3:22-4:1; 1 Tim 6:1-2; Titus 2:9-10; 1 Peter 2:18-21). Slavery is not condemned (as it should have been), rules are set out on how slaves should treat their masters and vice versa.

  • If everyone one was homosexual...were would we go as a people. Whats the deal with pro-creation. Neather one of us woul exsist if everyon way homosexual. People have the right to live how they choose..but you cant change the laws of nature. Pro Create...and 2 men nor 2 women cant create life without the unison of male and female. Fact. So if we are created that way thin that must be the law.

  • I agree with this man whole heartedly. If you think being gay is an abomination, chances are you still wish you had yourself a slave!

  • @sonicgenki no, i dont.

  • @sonicgenki

I would like to understand more about your comment, in a respectful manner. I am a christian, just not a gay bashing one, although I don't condone the lifestyle, however hate is wrong in any religion or none religion, and I think that what fuels hate the most is misunderstanding, with that being said I would like to understand. My first question I'd like to ask is are you a Christian?

  • Part 4

... Christian opponents emphasizes the garing double standard many hold in regard to the different orientations.

  • Bishop Robinson homosexuality is an abomination in Gods eyes.

  • @1954phyllis actually jesus told me he thinks Bishop Robinson is pretty cool

  • @emmateacup I have a question for you. Why would Jesus tell Bishop Robinson that the gay lifestyle is pretty cool when it plainly says in His word that same sex is an abomination unto His Father.

  • Good points made by Gene Robinson. He's a real master of logic. If some people decide that the Bible isn't applicable and that something is okay, they should just go for it. Who cares what the Bible actually says about it?

  • Why are we turning to the "establihment Church" for any insight.. period. Rememeber it was the priests who called for Jesus' death....Plus here's another thought. Paul writes, that his message that he brought was not a matter of wise words, but of power. ie: people got healed..no chuchy bumbo jumbo....

  • What a liar Gene Robinson truly is. The Bible clearly says that all false teachers will be judged harsher. Also, hearing that he's an unrepentant drunk doesn't help matters either. He should do the Christian church a favor and get out of his position.

  • People arguing that the Roman Catholic Church should change a teaching are doing so in vain. It's silly, really. The RCC will never, ever, change its teachings on sexual morality (or any other teaching, for that matter), so stop trying to make it case that it should. Personally, I take comfort in the fact that the Church's teachings do not change and cannot be changed.

  • I challenge anyone to watch my video on this matter and see if they can answer 4 simple questions.

  • Ya Bishop, you tell em. We used to think that men who ingest each others semen were wrong some how, and men who allow other men to put their penis in their anal orifice were twisted, but you have showed us the light. keep up the good work.

  • This man does not belong to the Body of Christ. He is a liar and a hedonist who twists God's words to serve his own selfish ends.

And now the Episcopalian Church has consecrated another gay bishop, this time a woman.

To all Episcopalians who are distressed by this: come home to Rome. One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Faith.

  • You are so fuckin' stupid.

  • @drdst17 Don't worry he is not a member of the church but then again the RCC is a cult as well.

  • @drdst17 amen amen amen...all are welcome to partake in the FULLNESS of TRUTH that exists ONLY in His Church

  • so it is ok then- he did create the penis for something other than the vagina- good to know....

  • This man is a liar & he very well knows he is lying. He lies about God's word in a way that is aimed to affect the general public which has no knowledge of God's word.

God's word is very clear in both old and new Testaments, about slavery being evil and it is also unequivocal about the equal worth of men and women who were both made in God's image. This man knows well that Paul's comments are not a denigration of women.

God will never, ever create someone to be what He forbids-a homosexual.

  • Pfft. God has been "creating" homosexuals since the human race began.

What is more likely, that God forbade homosexuality but couldn't stop people from being gay? Or that there is no God, and that the biblical condemnations of homosexuality were written by people with a primative understanding of human sexuality?

    I vote for #2.

  • What year is it? From what event are we counting the no. 2010? From the definitive event of all time past, present future- the manifestation of God on earth in human form. He came in Love. Who should we believe? you? or Jesus? Which has more authority? My opinion? Your opinion? or the word of Jesus? U & I can generate billions of personal opinions- change them every minute or every year. What bears more import to your eternal fulfillment? yr arbitrary opinions? or the truth of yr loving Creator?

  • What loving Creator? There is no credible evidence that there is a God, or that any of the claims made by any religion have any truth to them whatsoever. No evidence at all. THERE IS NO GOD. Any people like you, who not only there is, but claim you know His mind, are IDIOTS. Primative, superstitious nitwits. Stop pretending to know things you don't know.

  • Please white people follow this guy.

  • Either homosexuality/lesbianism is part of the Fall or it was part of God's original perfect creation!

The very same can be said of other deviant sexual affections such as bestiality, pedophilia, bondage, group sex etc... If any man or women should be tempted of these they must resist.

It is my opinion that God made the seed of a man to locate the egg of a woman and bring forth perfect life not to die in human excrement.

As a heterosexual I still have many affections I am called to resist.

  • @karlosmoffit I totally agree with you. It is not because it "feels right" that it is. If i am tempted to cheat on my husband and i"feel right" in the arms of my lover, does that make it okay??? People just do not see Satan using them...but one day they will and it will be too late. As a Christian nowadays, all you can do is pray, spread the Gospel and ask the Holy Spirit help you recognize evil.

  • . Its good to see so many varied passions emerging out of this, but just get one thing very very clear, the final analysis is that EACH ONE OF US has to answer to God about the lives we live. ASK ur self this question...WHAT HAVE U DONE FOR JESUS TODAY ORIN UR LIFE.....stop lookin at other ppl's lives and telling them how to live it....live urs, do UR best at pleasing God......support each other.........and STOP HATING>......gosh it hurts my heart to see that sexuality divides us so much

  • Scripture NEVER justified slavery. It spoke of servanthood. It never put women down. This man is simply a baldfaced liar trying to justify his perversion that he knows is repugnant to God and to humanity.

  • God does not approve of homosexuality but he is also not "taking sides"

    He loves all His creation.

he loves the drunk, the adulterous, the murderer, AND the homosexual.

and He wants to be in a personal relationship with them. He wants to fill them, all of us, with His Holy Spirit so they will purge themselves of their old sinful ways because they won't need it any more! He wants to set us free of our bondage (the debt we owe). they'll be fulfilled by His peace, grace, joy, and His Holy Spirit.

  • @superXdude92

i couldn't care less about hate texts so don't even bother.

if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all please.

  • How do you know what God does and doesn't approve of hmm.

and don't quote the bible at me it is not meant to be taken literally and was not inspired by god in any way.

  • why do you say that the Bible is not inspired by God?

    i'm curious...

  • Gene is using Slavery as a equal to HOMOSEXUALITY!! I'm offended by that correlation.

The Bible did not condone or condem Slavery.. Evil was in the hearts of man! This issue of Slavery shows how cruel we as humans are to our one another!

God came down to reveal the heart of man! And to point them back to His TRUTH.

Homosexuality is a discourse to the 'Rhythm' of life. It is both distrubtive & aiding to the extinction of human life!

This Bishop has Spat in the Face of God!

  • hip pity hop hip. a very typical christian doctrian keep on changing their minds like a camillion changes to blend in its enviroment, what's next.

  • Perhaps you might need to learn how to spell the word 'chameleon' before criticising a 2000 year old intellectual tradition. But actually, a chamelon is a good animal to use as an analogy: no matter what colour he changes to, he always remains a chameleon, in shape and substance. The surface seems to change, but the body - and even the skin - remains the same texture and being.

  • @modousonko if you want anyone to take you seriously, don't start your statement off like that...

  • EXCOMUNICATION!

This man is a Heretic, and will burn for profaining the Church. God have mercy on those who fall into his lies!

  • Go home and have fun with your slaves then.

  • @CSSailor1863 i agree that he is very wrong about this. and i do believe that he has no real relationship with God. but i think you've gone a little too far buddy. leave the condemnation to God

  • Fag bishop - fool bishop - false teacher - heretic

  • I'm not one to agree with Bishop Gene Robinson's views, but for you as - I at least presume - a confessed Christian, to go around calling people 'fags' is absolutely disgusting, and completely unChrist-like. By just using an offensive word like that, you blaspheme against the loving grace of the holy spirit - which, if you decide to read your Bible once in a while, is an unforgivable offence in the eyes of God. I can't remember the last time Christ insulted a sinner, other than Pharisees!

  • Rom 1:26 For this cause, God gave them up to dishonorable affections. For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature.

Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another; males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error.

  • And when you are done reading passages out of context, go ahead and read the rest of Romans where you will find Paul explain convictions of his like these:

[ I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; - romans 14 :14 ]

  • Lets keep this clear, however this turns out. christians are those who have reoented of their sins and have accepted Christ's sacrifice and gift of redemption. There is no other criteria. the discussion is not whether or not homosexuals, the question is should homosexuality be considered acceptable amongst Christians. Lets stay focused people. lets try and think outside the box here.

  • ....maybe we should change our minds about CHRIST in the church. There are alot of people out there serving other gods, maybe we should let them be in charge too! After all, "we" changed our minds about lots of other things in the past didn't we? Wow, so we move up from the church only allowing priests to even read the bible to the priests changing it to score political points. It's like one big scam after another.

  • Comment removed

  • To the rest of you Christian ladies and gentlemen posting here. to those FOR homosexual tolerance, please watch your tongues and don't fall to ad hominem tactics to vent your passion. accept that you won't change everybody's minds. same to you, those opposed. I would also reccomend that you exercise some restrain when using such words as abomination when referring specifically to people. My own views aside, people will take such personally and so will be much less open to what you have to say.

  • The Christian Church never condoned Slavery. That is biggest lie. Slavery was a way of life until the Christian Church put end to it with Surfdome in 16th and in the late 17th century and mid 18th century.

The first instance of African slavery goes back to the 7th century with the invention of Islam. Then If you look to patriarchal of Islam you see will the Ismaelites. They have always be slave traders to this day. Slavery still exist in Africa, China, and Muslim nations. The UN Condones it

  • Slavery and homosexuality are not comparable issues. Homosexuality is an abomination and a lifestyle choice.

  • First of all, biblical slavery and slavery done by man in the U.S. were very different. Biblical slavery was a career thing, the other a race thing so that argumentation is destroyed. Secondly the bible is clear on issues of women having positions of authority and it is against it, and it is also quite clear on its problems with homosexuality. You can stand with God, or you can stand with Satan and his servant Gene Robinson. Whoever stands against God, stands with the devil!

  • Slavery huh? women?? are we changing the subject?? he seems to be preaching another gospel .. well this is fine for peole who have't got christ in their heart or don't know scripture but anyone who does .. just disagrees with this gay man masquarading as a minister of god .. satan waas a liar and a theif too disguising himself ...So this guys message has appeal to the unsaved, who haven't the knowledge of christ ..christians need to toss this guy to the curb and keep decievers from the pulpit

  • 2 Peter 2

Read the whole chapter for context

For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption.

  • It's about what the bible says. GOD is the one who doesn't approve of homosexuality. If someone disagrees, it's because they don't believe in God or they don't want to obey him. It's not rocket science, men have certain organs that women dont because we are created in such a way that we attract and as a result can find love and the chance to have our own children. Why should the creation contradict the Creator? You can't use a blender to heat food, you can't use a microwave to blend, can you?

  • Robinson being gay is not an issue. Everyone should have the right to serve God, regardless of sexual preference, gender or anything else.

That said, this man should be excommunicated from the Anglican Church. During his inaugural speech to Obama he prayed to the univeral god of all religions. And he said everyones religions' god shall judge them. There is only 1 God Robinson, and 1 way to that God, through Christ. If you don't believe that you should not be a Christian much less a bishop!!

  • Robinson is not a Christian so you don't have to worry about him saying he shouldn't be one or a priest. Everyone does not have the right to serve God. Only those who are called by Him into that service have the right to do so. Does everyone have the right to come into your home? I would hope that rapists, murderers, thieves, etc. don't have that right. God is totally outside of mankind in holiness. God will and does judge according to His own standard, not man's. He judges by His Word.

  • Everyone doesn't have the right to serve God?! Are you serious? That's quite a heretical statement and is found nowhere in the bible. Are you getting that from one of your corrupted versions again?

Of course everyone has the right to serve God, hence the dogma of free will. You really need to stop adding to the bible what's NOT there..

  • Actually the bible is clear on its qualifications on who is the serve. Don't believe me read first timothy 3, and the book of titus.

  • Comment removed

  • 1 Timothy 3 does not state who can serve God, it states who can be a preacher & bishop (only a small portion of His servants), and neither position is denied because of sexual preference. Next, Titus, and the passages you are referring to are?

  • Comment removed

  • Fair enough Cosmic, but it goes without saying that a church preacher should strive to serve God to the best of his abilities as an example, and his new age views as you mentioned put aside, he is still living in violation of a very clear law in the bible, our only source of insight into God's wishes besides intuition (which holds a very poor track record). Old and New Testament both condemn homosexual behavior. I will do some research tonight to provide you with said verses if you would like.

  • I disagree i think his being gay is a big issue .. everyon having a right to serve god is just an odd statement .I do agree whole heartedly that people with faith should kick him to the curb..I'm appalled that they haven't ..I'm not against freedom of discussion about what the bible says .. just not huge disent from the pulpit he may be good for the dscussion from outside the church.. but he's not a christian and shouldn't be a leader for 8 seconds more

  • Everyone having the right to serve God is an odd statement to you? Really?

So you are saying only certain ppl, I'm assuming ppl like you, have the right to serve God? Not only is that belief heretical but disgustingly arrogant. You think I'm wrong? Prove it. Where exactly is that doctrine stated in the bible?

  • I pretty much agree with you except the part where you jump down my throat...assume you understand what i mean and then take it even further from what I origionaly intended and then demand I prove it .. sounds like you've been playing with too many athiests .. i was thinking how u have a right when your deluded decieved blinded and given over to your own lusts by god .. he sends the delusion.. they repress the truth and heartily affirm others evil actions and promote them /doesn sound free 2 me

  • Personally, I commend cosmic for standing up to you. I have never seen such arrogance and prejudice come from any group of people as much as from conservative/radical so-called "Christians", which kind of takes the word Christ right out of their name and leaves them being nothing more than hateful egotistical bigots.

  • Now, just to correct you bigot... gays are NOT deluded, deceived, blinded nor evil. And they give themselves over to lust no more than straights do. That's just a foolish statement.

They have every right to serve God as your hypocritical sinning ass does. So STOP thinking you're better than others. And STOP calling yourself Christian, you are anything but!!

  • Stop the childish name calling and make a point if you have one to make ..Personally I'm very proud of cosmic too 4 standing up to me ..so a real christian cares deeply about your petty whings..?? Guess I'm a bad christian .. Ouch.. from every person with an axe to grind that really hurts ..Has anyone told you lately Many christians just don't care about petty trite drama .. sorry for the news flash ...I just think it's not said enough ..please don't call me arrogant ..anything but that

  • My point's already been made bigot

  • Of course they have teh right to serve God. Who ever said otherwise? You can serve God and be gay, even christians sin after all. Do not however, make the mistake of thinking that God condones homosexuality. The bible is clear on this, God considers homosexuality to be a sin. To say otherwise is to defy scripture vis a vis God's word and law as Christians, being such, should hold it to be. To call such action "OK" in God's eyes is apostasy and unbefitting of a CHRISTIAN church leader.

  • Omg, I am not getting into another multi-day debate on this subject informing yet another of their ignorance of Biblical scripture. NO-WHERE in the original Biblical texts (Old OR New Testament) does it state that homosexuality is a sin, and NO-WHERE is it condemned. And that is a fact!!!

Go back and read all of my previous posts and inform yourself naive one, because I'm not stating it all over. And don't expect a response as I'm done wasting my time teaching the ignorant. Have a great life.

  • bye then.

  • And what Bible are you reading?

  • I do agree with you though that he is not a Christian & should be kicked out. Just for a different reason. His speech at Obama's inaugeration was extremely offensive being a Christian myself. Not only was it more New Age based than Christian, and his refusal to acknowledge Christ, But if you read between the lines you'll discover the god he actually is acknowledging is Lucifer. He should be exposed, and excommunicated for that speech alone!

  • No, God does NOT approve homosexuality!

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

    Leviticus 18:22

  • Why do you condemn homosexuals by claiming it's an abomination when you say nothing about the fact that the same God advocates pedophilia and rape?

If you don't believe me, here's proof:

    Numbers 31: 17-18

    17. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

    18. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

  • Thank you for your message, my friend. I am not condemning homosexuals. The Bible says it is an abomination, and such we must obey the laws of God.

Thank you for the passages you've given me in Numbers. I have yet to read them thoroughly, and I will pray and read them and hopefully, I shall have a reply for you.

    God Bless you.

  • "The Bible says it is an abomination, and such we must obey the laws of God."

Those passages are highly debatable. If everyone went around following what they believed to be God's laws, there would be chaos.

  • Well, my brother - when God calls something an "Abomination" God means "Abomination." We must NOT twist scripture. Know my friend that Homosexuals WILL NOT inherit the kingdom of GOD. that's what God says. Anyone who is going around preaching otherwise is on their way to hell! This is what GOD says. Now, who do you believe more: GOD OR MAN? God Bless you.

  • God did not write the Bible, man did and man has distorted and rewrote it countless times. You are, in effect believe man over God.

You sound very much like a cult member.

  • Well, I pray that you come to an understadning of the truth.

  • Do you know what the biggest barrier to finding truth is?..... It's believing you already have it.

I will pray that you will open your eyes one day and not see everything in terms of black or white.

  • sir please please study the word before commenting. I pray that the spirit that God give us will reveil to you>>>

  • Right back at you, sir. You all say that the passages concerning homosexuality are clear, well I say the passages concerning rape, murder, pedophilia and slavery are equally clear. Here are some examples:

Kill People Who Don't Listen to Priests

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

  • Death for Hitting Dad

Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

    Kill Nonbelievers

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

  • Kill Brats

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB)

  • "Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. "

    1 Corinthians 6:9-10

  • "Homosexuals" is a mistranslation of "arsenokoitai" and no one exactly knows what it means. Scroggs states:

"Since... the New Testament occurrences are the earliest appearances of the word, it is not easy for us to be sure what it means. John Boswell in his recent study denies that it refers to a homosexual person in general but rather specifically to the male prostitute who could serve heterosexual or homosexual clients. At any rate, the sin is prostitution, not homosexuality in itself."

  • You are correct. And it's interesting how the biblical stories of David & Jonathan, Ruth & Naomi, & Daniel & the prince of eunuchs are shunned and never talked about.

  • Was not David later tempted by a woman? Did he not impregnate her and send her husband off to die in battle so as to keep him (her husband) from finding out? If anything, David's life, if we are considering his and Jonathan's relationship to be a romantic one, is a fair example of CHOICE in sexual orientation, whether it really be or not.

  • Read the KJV only, all later versions are corrupted.

In the KJV no-where is the word homosexual mentioned.

Everyone of the 6 "anti-gay" passages can be dubunked if you know the original translations and context of the time it was written.

  • 1 Corinthians 6 : 9 - Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor SODOMITES, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. All must repent and turn to the living God.

  • Again... READ THE KJV ONLY, ALL LATER VERSIONS ARE CORRUPTED!!!

IN THE KJV NO-WHERE IS THE WORD HOMOSEXUAL MENTIONED! NOR IS SODOMITES EVEN MENTIONED IN CORINTHIANS!

Please read try to read the post first before commenting on it.

  • Lol, the uncorrupt kjv, which was named for the king who killed it's constructor haha.

  • ROFL... man they should screen some of u ppl before they let you leave comments

  • This comment can only be from someone who knows little or nothing of textual criticism. KJV is one of the least accurate simply because the number of manuscripts that we had at the time of it's translation were meager compared to what we have now. And the there are many resources for showing the reliability and accuracy of the English text that we have today. If you want to argue for homosexuality in Christianity, don't attack the world's best selling book. It should be the foundation.
