I think it was just water cos i´ve noticed that in every single scene where they´re all drinking beer,champaigne...(whatever) Jack alaways drinks water instead maybe to stay clear?

Maybe Fragments? Weevil cuts him, he doesn't die, suddenly he's not bleeding anymore during the course of his and Ianto's conversation? Somewhere else, too, I think.

Don't know if alcohol -- which could technically be considered a form of mild, recreational poisoning -- counts for his quicker healing, though.

This is a rubbish answer, but maybe he's immune to it? I mean, I read in Something in the Water (Torchwood book, yeah I know-when it comes to Torchwood I'm a total nerd)so anyway, I read that Jack can't get sick. Maybe he doesn't need to sleep? The doctor did say once that 'sleeping is for tortoises'
