Correct me if I'm wrong...but didn't UTV (NI Region) screen double episodes over the summer period (June-Sept) in 1998 or 1999???  I distinctly remember the continuity announcer saying, "Shortland Street is back after a long break, catch up with Hone after his return from overseas".

It was shown on ITV. It aired between 1992 and 2004, when Carlton and Granada merged, and it was no longer aired by ITV, and has no longer aired in the United Kingdom since.
