"When we woke up that morning we had no way of knowing, that in a matter of hours we'd change the way we were going."
I was in an IRC chat room many, many years ago when this song was new. I sent it to a girl who i was going to be meeting in person at the chat-room's get-together, i thought the lyrics were appropriate.
Back to present day.... we've been together since we first met in person, and married with 2 beautiful daughters.
innit...they could be doing something so more uplifting..like uploading a video of a mountain from the seat of your retard bus....did it have a lift on the back for the really afflicted....you dick head.
Jarvis Cocker is without a doubt the best song writer what ever walked this earth, and he is a Yorkshire lad! He makes me feel proud to come from Yorkshire.
this songs cool its like the butterfly effect like if you stayed in or didnt go to a certain place one time you woudnt have met your girl you love, and asks the question what would i be doin now if i stayed in that time. i would not have met my girlfriend im with now.. see what a mean.
from start to finish this album is phenominal, it amazes me still(and i know there will be pulp fans who disagree) that they wrote lots of other material and nothing compares in the slightest. shame.
and this from a tosser who uploads such incredible worthwhile film such as...wait for it....yes you guessed it...."the rockies from a bus"...oh man what a legend...cannes film festival beckons....you fucking little turd.

Shut up you pathetic little prick. Do you honestly think i give a shit what you think of my videos? Guess what...i know they're shit; and i couldn't care less. Now fuck off and listen to your silly little 'pulp' records. Tit.
You are boring and stupid. Your attempts to insult me are laughable. And how many f**king youtube accounts have you got? Haven't you got anything better to do? I suppose not - well we've only got about 3 years now before the aliens arrive.
i ummed and ahhed about buying this album mail order for weeks, took the plunge and the day after i placed the the order pulp did this amazing performance on Jools Holland's show... made me happy
still a fantastic record

@Durranimo1 I'm sure you have a beautiful relationship and wish you the best in the future...
But that has got to be the most unromantic way of meeting your wife I have ever heard.

One of my all time songs! Truely brillent.
I know that people go on and on about music not being as it was and you look at bands like suede and pulp, and you just don't get it any more.
Music is too commercial those days and those get some pretty faces together and have them lip sync to a 3 lyric song.
Ahhh this got me through University.....
