Love the tempi of the duet- so many folks stretch it out, slow it down, oversing it, and kill it. Orchestra is wonderful and using a fortepiano for continuo is great.... but what's this about Mozart? Didn't Sondheim write Into the Woods?

@chantdonchant yes, tempo is nice and orchestra just right...but whats up with the setting and the stage directions? Why is it set in a forest? I mean is that part of this adaptation, something symbolic ?? I dont really get it. Why is the Don rolling on the ground, that aint too seductive and not at all like a nobleman. And does the director have a foot fetish or something? Rather odd.

@baritono81 I have to agree with your comment. I am studying this piece (well the role of Zerlina) at the moment and thought that the departure from the traditional setting might add something new to the performance. It might have if the characterization had been stronger but Zerlina seems to give in all too easily and Don Giovanni is not conducting himself as the manipulative nobleman he is..... quite disappointing really.
