Depends on how quick it is going to be. With the heli I'll nip to the little field in this vid and with the plane i will go to the weetslade colliery country park just off sandy lane. If i've got more time and Ken is flying then we go to the town moor.
well i will send u my phone number by private message and give me a ring . i fly both heli and planes so give me a call even if its just for a quick flight. am always up for that and your only five mins away since i just i live at cramlington
thats just of coast lane right next to the a1 . just 5 mins from me and gary graham. you should give us a shout and come out flying one day. will take you to the cramlington club and fly down there as i noticed you commented on the field on the video he posted the other day. that was me flying the t rex clone hovering above his plane.
Yeah that would be cool :D I, along with a friend Ken, have been flying for a year or two now and we were looking to find a club sometime this year. I am going to be really busy on the weekends for the next couple of months so I'm rarely going to be getting out for more than a quick flight, but when I get some time I'll drop you a line, cheers! :D (Ken is also on youtube, his channel is kgpierce )
Yes mate, I've got footage shot by my friend and also on board video as well. Been a bit too busy recently to get it edited, I will try to get it done soon.
It was a really windy day. I the heli was downwind of me and was pointing downwind. It was quite high and I was trying to bring her down. I was flying in normal mode as I have never actually tested the idle up curves and I was getting loads of transitional lift from the wind so the head speed was getting lower and lower but the heli didn't come down. I then lost control (blade stall?) and she landed nose first. I'll fly idle up from now on I think!
i was afraid of idle up mode for months mate and then one day i actually gave it a go and it was luvly :D the only thing you need to watch out for is when/if you crash the heli will continue to batter itself on the ground :( so get used to throttle hold (dx6i use switch b4 flight and button b4 crash) but instead of floating on the breeze it will feel more like it cuts though it ;)
where do u normally fly just for a quick fly

Good point! I use a Futaba 6EXHP which also has a throttle hold on it so I'll use that. Cheers.

Yeah, the old bloke nearly walked the legs off his dog walking round and round the field while I was flying.
