  • Patch no longer works after the latest update

  • @Reublol It gets broken every patch, previously there was a way to make your own patch by editing two lines of hex but with the latest CLIENT update (not version update) they changed how the hex is arranged and it doesn't work anymore. This is the second time there's been a client update however since this patch was released and he'll more than likely fix it again just like he did every patch in the past.

  • Can someone explain to me what is meant by hardware mouse and what it does differently then (im assuming) the software mouse to allow a much smoother faster movement

  • @curexcult think it comes down to rather than the commands running directly off the mouse, it runs off the gameclient. So, any framerate loss in the game client, causes your mouse to lag equally as much. Hardware mouse commands ignore this as its running off the mouse itself and not the game.

  • @Nautalus Thanks for that. that makes sense.

  • Yay... I've never been happier about something so simple. Sad that S-E seems to be focusing users to play with gamepads. They had that function there the whole time?

  • @Lalodocineski apparantly so, yep

  • My eyes started tearing 2 seconds into the video.

    Unbelievable.

  • Wow thank you so much for this. I dont care what SE is trying to test- software mouse is bullshit. I fully intend to use this through the beta and again when the official launch comes out if SE has yet to remove their heads from their asses.

  • @gojeran hardware mouse is bullshit unless you don't have a mouse - aka the ps3. They need to develop software mouse, like it or not, as they can't force everyone to buy one for the console version. Betas are to test things, not to go and play for free to your heart's content. It's thanks to people that thinks like this that betas should NEVER be open...

  • @WarTraveler84 Ok man you go ahead and ride that high horse off into the sunset. Fact is SE has another 6 months to make and internally test a software mouse for PS3 users and I see no reason why the rest of us PC users should suffer until then. How are we supposed to actually test the rest of the games content if we are always fighting with the fucking controls? Moron. Furthermore last time I checked a mouse is REALLY cheap- go buy one for your PS3.

  • @gojeran Cause when you created your account to actually agreed to an agreement that stated that you were allowed to play the game for testing purposes, as a beta tester. But yea I know you didn't bother to read the contract. Sw mouse is an interface that can be used on both pc and ps3, regardless of the type of input, be it a mouse or a controller. Plus, there's other reasons for wanting a sw mouse. For instance, hw mouse is easily exploitable by bot programs and other third party's.

  • @WarTraveler84 SE doesnt care about us Open Beta "testers" we arent even allowed to give feedback. Not like SE gives a shit about feedback, if they did they would have enabled hardware mouse- case and point. Stop being such a SE dick rider. I don't want my PC version of the game to be substanard for the console version to be "fair"- delt with shit for way too long in FFXI. In anycase I'm done wasting my time with you.

  • @gojeran Open beta is the "stress test".

  • Do you seriously think that SE is not aware of this. Hardware mouse was in the client, it was just deactivated. Why? Probably because SE wants to test something (PS3 version anyone?). That's the point of beta tests. They also said that theres a bunch of routines that downgrade game performance, but they are in place to collect data. Game's still in beta, save all the crap talking for release...

  • @WarTraveler84 I hope you are right

  • @WarTraveler84 Can you give a link please? Everyone keeps saying stuff like this and it's probably true. But i've seen no proof at all...

  • @tomroxelf A link of what? What i'm telling you is pure speculation on my part, but it's not baseless. I'm a computer scientist and I work at software engineering so I know what I'm talking about. Sure, some things aren't user friendly but software engineering processes are complex, that's why testing phases exist. I just don't understand why people talks as if square-enix were a bunch of mofos coding in a garage, they're professionals. Things will be fixed, given time.

  • Modifying the clients content is against the EULA and might result in your account being banned if they can detect it.

    Use at your own risk.

  • @mononcleroger WELL ARENT YOU MR. WHITE KNIGHT SQUARE ENIX REPRESENTATIVE! The guy made Windower, and no one was banned for that. Stfu.

  • @Saudrapsmann

you fuckin' with me right ? i simply said that it MAY be risky with the EULA , just so there's less fuckers who would get banned and blaiming this guy

i ain't no white knifght for sqaure enix dude , i'm just sayin' that if you do this , shit may hit the fan so be cautious nothin' else

  • how typical that the community again needs to fix SE's errors

  • I'm crying tears....tears of joy. I can't stop...
