For applying glue, are you using just a regular paint roller? I've used a brush, which I find to take a long time to apply with, and I've also tried a sponge roller and the sponge sucked it up and only left a thin layer, which afterwards caused the tissue to peel from the foil.
No, the glue Chris uses is thin enough not to need it, but on most suitable white glues you will have to dilute the glue at leat 1+1 with water. Make sure to get a glue that sticks to aluminium.

ive been making this paper for a while but his way of cutting the paper is alot better than mine (fold it in half diagonally and cut the excess off)

To press the paper onto the foil and remove eventual wrinkles.

You make it yourself with tissue paper and wallpaper glue like shown in the video.
