  • God i hate hippies! Where's Eric Cartman when you need him?

  • cant you show the whole song. you are just showing half of the song in this vid.

  • Induction into the gay militia was tough....

  • true......

  • Is that a Janet Jackson move @ 0:52

  • i love uncle sam

  • Damn man... In some way I dont know if I should love or hate Uncle Sam... I mean ofcoarse its a good thing to fight for ur country... But if you dont want to? I know its nothing the same, but one thing that makes me love the enclave in fallout 3, even though im an anarchist, more than the Breotherhood because they are the army with the ''Lend a hand for Uncle Sam''...

  • The movie was awesome.

  • GREAT MOVIE!

  • It was written for Yoko Ono by John Lennon... retard. Dont ever call the Beatles gay! or John Lennon will come beat you up *Youll get what I mean if youve seen the movie of John lennons life*

  • you tell that asshole bitch, haha just kidding bout the bitch thing, Beatles Rule!

  • what did xrock4ever say??? its spam so i cant c n im curious

  • finaly, soneone who understands

  • really interesting and tottaly awsome how they do that also l think the person who desind the song was tring to point out that the army will take anybody they can get a hold of p.s. i dont have anything aganst the army

  • It's actually an old Beatles song, every song in this musical was. They adjusted the meaning for the stories purpose.

  • I dont get it why are all the army guys like robots?

  • 'coz they're some kind of structure... a national structure

  • Lol, Max in his underpants.

  • cool...i gess

  • This and the "Shes So Heavy" bit after this are my absolute favourite part of the movie. This is just done so wonderfully, the expression, the songs, the way the soldiers are nearly identical, not to mention the skill it takes to pull of that sort of choreography. Its truely a work of art.

  • i think :45 through :50 makes it so powerful

  • if this is how the army is i want in lol!

  • me encanta la cancion la movie esta cabrona

  • its the best coreography that i have ever see in a song incredible just great beatles rules

  • At first, I thought the soldiers were computer animated somehow, but that's just makeup. I saw it in the special features. That takes major talentttt.

  • this is fersure my favorite part of the whole movie!! the best dancing and i love max!

  • oh i love this movie so frikin much!!!!

and war is kinda like that

    no offense to ur grandpa

    k?

  • pff my grandpa fought in world war two my dad was closer to nam but he didnt get drafted and im thirteen my parents are so old

  • LOl, my parents are like 50 and 53

  • haha i read this book where an eighth grader hippie teaches his class about the sixties and this one kid goes "Learning about the sixties helps me get along better with my grandparents" I was like OMG are you kidding me my grand parents rocked it in the forties that my parents your talking about

  • the guys with the square chins are sooooo weird

  • yeah they are a little weird but i wonder if making them all look that way (kind of a robotic look) was the whole idea....like, a kind of slam against the Army to say that everyone in the Army are robots that do and say what they're told, or something like that...

  • hmmmmm...........

i never thought of it that way

well i guess that thats kinda the point

    i wonder........

  • just for the record, i want it known that i personally don't think that about the Army (that they're all robots who can't do or think things for themselves), i was just wondering if that was the director's stance on it...my grandpa was in the Army in WWII (i don't think he ever saw action though, i think he was in India the whole time), my dad was in the Navy for a few years (never saw action), & my future brother-in-law is currently a Marine in Iraq. So i've got nothing against the Armed Forces

  • the soldier people scare me, though the part where their all dancing reminds me of Monty Pythons 'Military Faries'

  • military faries? XD

  • i love this part... and the song! this part is so powerful

  • i agree.....i think this is my favorite part of the movie.....but of course i say that about EVERY part in the movie!!!

  • me too XD

  • Ah

    so good

apparently my dad went 2 that same place when he was getting drafted in2 Veitnam

He got out of it sumhow, but its still kool. and his friend was at that one building at the time of the riots that they showed in the movie when helter skelter was playing

  • that thing that they do with uncle sam is simply amazing... great movie

stop dissing it if you've never seen it!!!!!

  • loved this part in the movie, very funny and exciting! and the dance and all the stomping the soilders did was cool.

  • Anyone else think the solidiers kinda look like Marv from Sin City? :D Brilliant movie, btw.

  • this part was cool but the actor getting tossed around here had an over exaggerated american accent

  • Well, a rock musical taking place in the 60s. Of course it's like a new HAIR. I saw ATU... wasn't anything amazing, but wasn't bad either.

  • ...army guys....underwear...uncle sam...and tasty snacks...a medley of excitement!!!!

  • My fav part... so foking powerful and deep..amazinggggg movie

  • my girl took me to see this movie, at first i didnt like the idea cuz she told me it was a musical, ended liking the thing a lot actually. gonna buy it when it comes on dvd

  • i know what you mean, one of my friends was like "this movie is sooo great" but i hate musicals...well all but this becuase now its one of my favourites!

  • i love the guitar. so raw! yea the uncle sam thing was a little spooky but it really adds to the movie and its something u understand

  • this is so good ya it kinda scared me ate this part and ya but i wish they had the hole song or was that the hole song

  • when i saw the movie i lold at uncle sam singing. this bits freaky...

  • this is one of my fav song from this movie loved the movie

  • wow, i'll admit i almost jumped out of my skin.

  • i love max's double takes... classic. hehehe.

yeah, i couldn't watch this scene the first 2 times i saw this movie, but by the third time i was like, really lissa, get ahold of yourself!

  • when is this coming out on dvd?

  • February 5th

  • Best scene in the movie... but also scared me shitless.

  • vote for the beatles for best band!!

    VoteNumber1.c_ _

  • oh man. this part just BEWILDERED me. I was crying and laughing and sickened.

  • A powerful and visionary scene! Great Movie! Great Music! Waitin for the Oscar Night 2008!

    Stawberry Fields Forever!

    DjArmy

  • This scene was so effing powerful.

It scared me. I nearly started to cry.

The kind of emotion you feel in the pit of your stomach.

    Horrifyingly breathtaking.

  • i felt the same way! I was overwelmed with emotion throug the whole thing. i saw it 11 times lol

  • _I love Beatles music as much as i love this film... I like it so much, and also this song... i don't like war... is pointless... Peace and love for everybody- =)

  • I agree! My father is in the military he is the captain of the 49th regiment but I think war is pointless to

  • And How! The Beatles are my heroes! Their music, their message, etc. The world would be a much better place if everyone would just realize that fighting does not solve problems, peace and love does. Peace out!

  • That scene scared me so bad in theaters.

    I mean, ugh.

  • its so obvious they were trying to make that dude look like kurt cobain.

  • Who's the voice of Uncle Sam at the beginning? Is that Joe Anderson (Max)?

  • Yup! xD

  • they all look like Marv from sin city :) I love this movie, it's message and most of all it's music. A must see for anyone looking for a good story.

  • This scares the fuck out of me, but I cannot stop wathcing it. Haha.

  • I love this scene

  • this was the best movie ever made. ive seen it 3 times already and im totally oppsessed. i majorly admire the director. he did an amazing job.

  • Dont you mean she? the director is in fact a woman julie taymor. its interesting how theres not alot of female directors out there

  • lol fake tumor

  • It's kinda freaky at the begining becuase max pops a mini donut in his mouth or something and it suddenly disapears and he didn't eat or swallow it!!!!

  • they are cotton balls. he was told if he did that it would look like he had a tumor or something and he wouldn't get chosen to go to war.

  • it was a cotton ball ^^, good movie

  • the guys faces are square... its ok i Loved ARCOSS THE UNIVERSE. best movie ever

  • I think They're Robots.

  • Guhhhh, Joe Anderson is amazing.

  • favorite**

  • This movie had such weird graphics in it!

this scene was so weird but yet one of my favorute scenes.

    great movie.<3

  • I actually thought this scene was quite interesting, it was one of my favorites.

This scene was captivating to me, and I think the fact the jarheads had the same appearance kept you staring at the screen.

  • well i saw the movie and it was great

but i still cant understand why those guys faces are all boxy and stuff

  • i think it was to give them the over exaggerated stereotype of what jarheads used to be back then. Also to make them more uniform and look all alike

  • this movie was amazing!!

  • omg thats creepy the mp's r creepy poor mak hey?

  • ahh love this sceneeee

  • awesome.

  • ahh! me to pookiepoo207! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

  • This scene is soooo amazing!

  • I didn't mean sick as negetive. Were I live sick means cool or awsome. I luv this vid I think it rocks.

  • brilliant movie!!

  • wow. seeing this movie baked was an adventure. hahaha

  • I had thought about that. But i decided to go see it as a date

  • this part was so like, weird and sweet at the same time. the faces were all like boxy and stuff lol. i loved the dancing and beat though

  • This was one of my favorite parts of the movie. Thought it was okay overall. If more of the sequences would've been like this, it would've been amazing.

  • Well this was a very good movie not only they had the Music by The Beatles But i love how they use the names Lucy, Prudence and Max it was awsome and the music made the movie even better. Peace Love

  • I always thought that prudence wa a lesbian but wanst accepted in the world yet.

  • I always didn't like this song, until I heard it on the movie.

I mean I absoulutely LOVE the beatles but this was the only song I didnt like of theres.

    Sorry just my opinion

  • Well, I enjoyed the movie and am very fond of the soundtrack. This sequence is definitely one of the best.

BTW did anyone get Prudence's character? What was she doing exactly? Did she get over her lonliness? She just keeps taking off and doing stuff.

  • i love when Uncle Sam reaches for him

  • And when were you born? According to your crappy review, probably around the time i was born. It sucks that my generation (for the most part) doesn't understand or appreciate any part of history or the 'expansion of the human mind'. Whatever. I'm glad that I notice that the 60's revolution was a huge moment of realization for american people and others around the globe. I am obviously ready enough to write a paper on how this movie emphasized all that was good in a time of complete chaos.

  • Just because this person did not enjoy the movie does not mean he does not appreciate the 60's movement. But apparently it is you who does not appreciate the movement. Ever heard of freedom of speech this guy has the right to his opinion. And I know you have the right to react to his opinion but you are not correctly responding to his review. You are assuming that he doesn't understand the 60's movement but in reality he just hated a movie.

  • Thank you very much! i appreciate history and everything and of course the 60's movement. its just that i really didnt think this movie was that appropriate.

PS. yoiu keep reffering to me as a he... the thing is... IM A GIRL NOT A DUDE! ut still thank you for your understanding. :)

  • "DUDE" listen up! if you read carefully, you would have seen that i didnt write ANYTHING about the 60's movement or history! I just said i didnt like the movie and how it was portrayed. Okay?

PS. you may be 17 and "sophisticated" and in high school or whatever. but i only just turned 13, so please lets not get any futher than this movie. im stil only learning about the 13 colonies!

  • sugarX you are way too young to know anything about rainbow busses, swimming nude and getting high--good! that means ur staying out of trouble and hope you never try and 'shrooms!!hahaha:)if you ever do then you'll understand!!!!hahaha

  • lol! true. i kinda kno her in RL and shes really sweet and smart but really young. she doesnt kno a lot about this stuff.(me too)

    :)

  • AHHHH!!! I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!

  • I freaking LOVE this movie!!!

  • the song is "I Want You (She's So Heavy)." Badass tune.

  • Whats the name of the song. Anyone know?

  • so this would be a comment about the actual video

this sequence in the movie is so beautifully put together!

  • Dude, I love the dancing, its catchy the way they sing it too

  • blondie is cute. kinda looks like the sour-cream belly dude from Led Zeppelin..john paul jones

  • Shit, if I go to the Carribean it'll be Jamaica.

  • That was one of my favorite scenes... "I'm a crossdressing homo pedophile with a spot on my left lung." AH HA HA HA HA!!! Nice try. *for those of you who have seen it* Favorite line...

  • I loved the guy's line after that too. "Well, as long as you don't have flat feet.." =)

  • too bad its now going to be out around where i live

  • i loved this movie. this whole scene was so ingenious. it was great.

  • Can't wait to see the movie!!!!!

  • this whole scene is so cleaver, especially when the soldiers are taking off his clothes...i cant wait to see this movie! it looks so good

  • my favorite scene in the movie!

  • another excellent scene of across the univere. joe anderson is my new favorite singer.

  • whoa. freaky.

  • The character is getting drafted and doesn't want to go. That's the point of the sequence. Believe me the movie criticizes the peace movement as well. I don't want to spoil the movie for you though.

  • Jessh! Now you make me want to see the movie!

But I think I would rather take the kids to see "Elizabeth, The Golden Era" instead.

  • Actually, that movie is pretty good. I just went to see it last night. Enjoy.

  • Venezuela has a free press, it has 24 hour shows that criticize Chavez. Protestors protest in the street both pro and anti Chavez. Sorry, get your facts straight.

  • So when are you moving to your paradise in Iran and is there any chance you can take your like minded twits with you lad?

  • lol, what a mindless remark, next you'll be calling me a Jihadist Commie Nazi

  • I'm not calling you anything---so when are you moving to Cuba or Iran. Hey, I heard they have free healthcare! Why wait for Hillary? What are you waiting for?! Time for you and your like minded pals to move to Iran!

  • I have free health care here in UK thanks

  • dogs get better healtcare in the UK!

  • It has decreased since Blair posed as a Labour candidate so as to get the Torries back into power though not in name, lol. With the goal of privatisation, though it seems that will never happen, as was the talk, seems they'll just have to get it back to normal again the dicks that they are.

  • I get any medication free, I can see a doctor, I even have my own personal doctor, a very good one, I can get operations, and the problems come from changes made by Labour to the structures, by increasing business like management of the systems, cuts here cuts there, management worried about statistics rather than reality.

  • If I were you, I would cancel that move to Cuba and Iran. Despite your insistance that things are so good in those piss ant nations, you've don't have it so bad there is socialistic Europe, do you?

  • When did I mention Cuba? You seeing things? What is socialism? Social-spending! Society, society as a priority. That's where the word comes from. I'd say that UK is more like USA than you think, we just have better illusions than USA.

  • Dont worry pal. My sister lives in Londonstan and I've been to the UK about 40 times. Lived for a year near Chester. Too many wogs and muzzies there now to my liking.

  • Well freedom's freedom, I'll take a little possibility of the odd terrorist for the chance of freedom, shit, not long ago it was the Irish, goddamn Irish, send in the SAS, killem all, lol, balls. 8 billion world population, 50,000 known terrorist victims.

  • Yeah, I remember when "the troubles" in Londonderry started back in 1970. I turned to my British friends and said "there, thats YOUR Vietnam"!

  • Vietnam? wtf are you talking about? What kind of comparison's that?

  • Shit, British SAS were in Vietnam asigned to the Australian SAS. So were advisers and intel etc. Not well known but a fact. Ireland wasn't our Vietnam, it was our peace crisis.

  • and we were the agressors, period.

  • Our Vietnam was probably well before my time, and yours.

  • and we were the aggressors in Ireland, period

  • and that 50,000 is not all in the name of Allah.

  • what's that work out to anyway? per nation? in the history of terrorism? I've got a better chance of winning the big one, or biting the big one via an asteroid.

  • Move to Iran/Cuba, god you're a funny little jingoist aren't you.

  • By the way, erm, well, I have not claimed anything about Iran or Cuba being ''so good'', lol, it's like your seeing what you want to see.

  • And the use of private companies for previously internal parts of the health service has also decreased the NHS. Basically setting it up for privatisation has fucked a good thing, though it's fixable problems.

  • Shit, I could break my leg right now and not have to pay for it

  • Maybe I should go live in the paradise that is the house of Saud, I heard Mr Bush recommends it highly:$

  • Go live in Russia man! lol

  • Hugo Chavez has done a lot of good for Venezuela. He has instituted land reform, passed laws to protect the indegeneous peoples of the country, and the infant mortality rate has fallen.

That said, Venezuela is far from being a "free nation." Chavez has committed electoral fraud and embezzlement. The free press isn't free; In fact, Venezuela's 2nd largest TV network was shut down, mostly for political reasons.

  • I've never heard of any claims of embezzlement, but I know corruption is rampant in Latin America, be they pro-US or pro-Independence.

  • Has Chavez been implicated personally in any corruption? Was the previous government corrupt?

  • As someone who is very much impacted by Latin American politics (Much of my father's family lives in Central and South America, including Venezuela) I would trust any leader in any of these regions about as far as I could throw them. Whether people want to admit it or not, the fact is in order to have a country with as much prosperity and freedom as the Western nations enjoy, someone, somewhere along the line is going to be screwed.

  • I don't think any nation is a just nation, not really, but bu Latin American standards, I'd say Venezuela is doing alright. I'd say much of the pro-US governments of the world are a lot worse than Chavez. I don't know much about electoral fraud and such in Venezuela, but I know a lot about electoral fraud in USA, I'm not trying to be funny with you, I've read Palast's book Armed Madhouse which get's into detail. He also investigated Enron once before the main Enron scandal.

  • Why does USA preach about opressive Iran when it's bum buddies with Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, China, the list goes on. Venezuela is no threat to USA, and it's not an opressive regime at all.

  • Yea, but they have oil from oil reserves that the USA wants and Chavez knows that so he's tight fisting it. Therefore he is running an oppressive government and will be considered a terrorist until further notice.
