leviticus is NOT the complete "word of God". in fact it was "made up" a very long time ago and in a bad environment, not well connected to God. "do not take these laws out of their context".....they are a part of a larger historical picture and are not a pure "golden rule" or "golden road" to follow at all. leviticus may have made attempts at good management but it also made many bad messes that his "laws" do not "fix".
Leviticus 20:13 says MALE homosexuals must be put to death. The author of Leviticus must have enjoyed FEMALE homosexual activity because there is not ONE word against it. I am glad that the scientific world of today realizes that homosexuality is a birth defect. The close-minded author of Leviticus was scientifically ignorant and cared only about his personal agendas.
I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
As to 15:19-24 I am not sure where but I think I may have seen goggles that you can wear that can tell. But for me, I just play it safe and never make any contact with any women.
And for 25:44, your friend is actually incorrect, but it is probably for reasons other then what you would expect. The fact of that matter is you can take slaves from Canada, but only men or woman. It is an issue because the majority of people living in that area are actually aliens, soo you can not own them as slaves. It is very hard if not impossible to distinguish the humans from the aliens so the standard practice is just not to take any one from that neighboring country.
I don't know what bible you are reading, but I do know It's not the KJV Bible. In the KJV Bible in Leviticus 19:19, It says "...neither shall a garment mingled of woollen and linen come upon thee". And by the way, I wear clothes made out of polyester/cotton, spandex/cotton, linen/cotton, etc.

the only thing is... levitical law no longer applies. it was a part of the old covenant with moses. Jesus issued a new covenant.
