  • She is a mint looking bird

  • @coryecho1 Mint looking? what does that mean?

  • @petrit1995 she is a good looking bird

  • @coryecho1 Oh thanks :D

  • I miss my cockatiel ;(

  • @happysmiley75 What happened to your cockatiel? :(

  • @petrit1995 Had to sell it. It had a problem with the mind. :(((((((

  • norway= 1 of the most beutiful places on planet! so my grandmother told me, she was brought to usa when she was 9, her parents died of some disease, polio something like that.

  • How can you tame a bird? I've tried so many times to try to get my bird to do anything and he doesn't.

  • @KayDFlo There are many toturials on youtube, but I can try to help you. First bird needs to be young. Talk to it 10 min two times everyday untill it gets used to you. Then you can try to feed him with you hand. Millet works best. Move the hand closer to him. Try to make him jump on your hand to eat. And then after a while he sould be tame. :) Search on google for toturials. There are many good toturials that show you how to tame you bird step by step. :)

  • 4 people let their cockatiels outside and they flew away

  • @GooshGoosh123 HAHA!

  • THE SAME EXPRESSION.

    EVERY TIME.

  • i wish my cockatiels could do this now, we clipped my first ones wings because he flew away and is to afraid to go outside and now my second one i got a few months back loves outside and were to worried she wont come back

    cute bird though

  • wow this is adorable <3 I wish I could take my bird outside but I'm too afraid ): he's flown away once and it was a miracle I got him back so I don't want to risk again. I didn't realize people took their birds outside at all :o

  • @LuvXHate Thanks for the comment :). Some people train the bird to always fly back to them. Which is the hard way, and some people clip their wings which is the easy way. Like I did. Good to hear you gor your bird back :)

  • @petrit1995 ...some people parent their kids not to run away. which is the hard way. and you will probably chop their legs off? -> would be the easy way;) ... -.-

  • @Jul3sRul3sxD humans are more intelligent then birds. If I tell my kid not to run away, he listens to me. If I tell my bird to not fly away, he doesn't listen to me. Their wings grow back. Human legs dont grow back. How can you compare clipping birds wings with cutting of human legs?

  • @petrit1995 you just told us that its possible to train the bird to fly back to you.. so apparently in some way a cockatiel "listens" to you.

even if the wings grow back, you clip them everytime they do. so where is the big diference between -never have wings to fly- and -never have legs to walk- ?

  • @Jul3sRul3sxD Omg... A humas is 10 000 times smarter than a parrot. And learning them to fly back to you is pain in the ass andd takes VERY long time. They can still walk and fly, but not that long. I only clipped her wings ONCE to tame her. Please understand.

  • @petrit1995 yeah, we just have different opinions. see, my birds are allowed to fly in my living room the hole day. they dont hurt themselves by flying againt the window or wall because 1. i have curtains and 2. they really know how to fly and have enough places in the room where they can land. i just enjoy to see them having so much fun flying around.

i hope youll try it too and i would love to see another video of your pretty girl experiencing her wings:)

  • @Jul3sRul3sxD Thank you :) I let them play around in my room all day. I have even build tree stand for them where they can play :D

  • @LuvXHate all you gotta do is clip their feathers and they wont fly away :)

  • @Clos111888 But they can still get themselves into trouble, even with clipped wings. They can flutter enough to get into the trees, and from there you can loose them. They can get into all other kinds of troubles too. thats why i always used a bird harness to make sure I had my birds safe if we were outside. They hated it at first, but they got used to it.

  • perrtyy birdy

  • LOL on the swing so cute

  • that brid is so coot

  • *winds comes* OMG WHAT'S THAT!!?!?

  • @loverofmythology haha, I guess thats what she thought when the wind came :)

  • @petrit1995 lol! she's so adorable! and it's funny how animals that are meant to be outside are scared of the wind o3o

  • My cockatiel has her wings clipped and she is very happy. she is about a year and a half to two years old. when i got her the pro's told me to clip her wings for her own safety so she wouldnt hurt herself if she tried flying. she still tries to fly occasionally but has never been harmed from it, thanks to her wings being clipped. if her wings werent clipped the poor little girl would have ran right into so many walls and doors. I'm glad her wings are trimmed for that exact reason.

  • Why don't you just stop clipping the wings and let her fly inside instead? It would make her a lot happier. Comparing clipping wings with hair or nails is just ignorant.

  • @FridatUtube clipping wings is recommended for safety and its easier to tame the bird when they don't fly away everytime you touch them. And NO, its not ignorant to say that clipping their wings is like clipping my hair or nails. It IS just like clipping your hair or nails.

  • @petrit1995 I don't know who you mean recommend it, where I live they discuss forbidding it since it prevents the bird from its natural behaviour = flying. My birds were easy to tame and I never clipped them, it's just a matter of time and trust. If you get a bird who is older it might be harder to tame but I don't think that's a reason to clip the wings.

  • @FridatUtube You live in Sweden right? I live in Norway and i haven't heard anything about making wing clipping forbidden. Bird experts, the vet, the store i bought the bird from and everyone recommend wing clipping for safety. This cockatiel is a girl and girls are harder to tame then boys. The boy was very easy to tame but the girls was harder and i flew away everytime i touched her. Thats why i clipped her wings. Does this answer you question?

  • Comment removed

  • @FridatUtube You act like a bird not flying is the end of its world.. I have a parrot who is 26 years old and a majority of his life he couldn't fly and he is one of the most content and happy birds I have seen and when you clip their wings it doesnt stop them from flying per se they can fly DOWN so they don't hurt themselves but thats it plus if you let a bird out.. by nature it will want outside so it can very easily hit a glass window and hurt itself... THAT is just common sense

  • @shadow10fate I recommend the links. It's about to be forbidden (in some countries).

  • @petrit1995 This might also be interesting to read:

    theparrotuniversity (dot) com/flight.php

  • @petrit1995 That is so not true what you're saying that cockatiel girls are harder to tame than boys. I have a girl too and didn't had any problems taming her. From a totally wild bird and a bird that is afraid od her own shadow, she became the sweetest little birdie that likes to cuddle, she loves when i scratch her, when i kiss her...all that in just less than 2 months. Now if you think that 2 months is long period for a bird to tame, than you're very wrong. Doesn't matter if it's a girl or a boy.

  • @TheLittlePillow It is true. Not just from self experience but i've read about it on many cockatiel sites. Maybe it was easy to tame your cockatiel because it has another personality then my bird. Right now i have two new budgies. One boy and one girl. I've had them for two weeks now. I tamed the boy in five days. Now I can scratch him in the neck and kiss him. But the girl is still not that tame. The only thing she does is step up on my finger. And i dont think that two monts is a long period.

  • @petrit1995 No it really isn't. I know from my experience, and I've read about that from many sites too. Including a forum on which I'm a moderator. I know much about cockatiels and believe me it doesn't matter which sex is it. And another thing, budgies are not cockatiels. In budgie case,it is true that females are more agressive than males and that way harder to tame. But not with cockatiels too. And,you know, every bird is different and some birds never can be tamed, and some tame in 1 day.

  • @TheLittlePillow Ok, maybe you're right. Maybe i mixed cockatiels and budgies. But it's still kinda wierd that every girls cockatiel I've had were harder to tame. Maybe I've been unlucky...

  • @petrit1995 Well how many cockatiels have you had?! It's kinda silly to talk in the name of all female cockatiels on the basis of one or two or idk how many girlz have you had. Ok,I don't wanna argue,I really don't,I was just sayin' some things to you....I have really lot of experience with tiels and on the basis on my experience it just does not matter which sex ur cockatiel is.

  • @TheLittlePillow i've had more then five girl cockatiels. And as I said MAYBE i've mixed cockatiels and budgies. I dont want to argue ether. I am just telling what I've heard, experienced and read.

  • @petrit1995 cockatiels are no cuddle toys. they have their own personality and some just dont want to be touched. you should respect that. instead you turn a healthy normal bird into a handicapped one (even when its just temporary..)

  • @Jul3sRul3sxD No bird wants to be touched when its not tame. I clipped her wings to tame her. Not to make her a cuddle toy. After her wings grew back she was tame and I could cuddle with her as much as I wanted without her flying away.

  • @FridatUtube ur face is ignorant :>

my cockatiel of three years of age has had clipped wings all his life, and HE HAS NEVER BEEN HAPPIER

  • @RocketRodder Face? :)

How do you know that if he had that for all his life? Btw it's definitely not recommended on young birds, they need to build up chest muscles etc.

  • @FridatUtube Because I raised him from hatching, genius...

Unless you're qualified, I'll stick to what his avian specialist tells me, thanks =)

  • @FridatUtube I have 2 cockatiels and they're allowed to roam freely around my house since my house is small, I can keep an eye on them. In the beginning I was against clipping their wings because I like to see them fly around. Then as their wings grow longer, they can fly faster and higher. It makes them more aggressive. One time, something fell and scared my birds so much they flew around and slammed into the wall. Now I trim their wings so they can still fly but can't fly too fast

  • @icieLko Thats a good reson to clip wings. I remember my cockatiel use to fly on the window and the mirror

  • did yuh cut its wings ro what i just didint fly?

  • @mainsqueez13 Yes, i clipped her wings

  • i know my cocktail very good he is like my brother

and i can see how scared ur parrot is outside and i guess its hes first time am i wrong?

  • @david001ification Yes, that was HER first time outside. She was kinda scared.

  • @petrit1995 knew it :>

  • itl stop them from flying away and dying of starvation or getting eaten by a cat clipping that is no clip for wilds

  • @semaj175 1. Shee does not need to fly in her cage.

    2. How can she starve in her cage when i give her food everyday?

    3. there are no cats in her cage.

    4. She is not a wild bird. I take her outside for a few minutes then I take her back inside in her cage :)

  • bwahahahaha, looks so retarded but cute. X)

  • clipping the birds wings is EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got a cockatiel and i got told to clip his wings because it'll make 'training' easier but i don't like the idea of cutting the wings when they were born with the ability to fly.

  • @dogus194 It not evil. I just like clipping your hair or nails. It does not hurt, and they grow back.

  • @petrit1995 oh :/ at the vet i was told the wings never grow back so i didn't get him clipped.

  • it is scared shitless 0_0

  • n'awwww this is Adorable :'")

  • if its 8months old, thats a girl not a boy. it looks like a pearl and only the girls keep the pearl coloring. im surprised she didnt have a little walk round in the grass, maybe even a nibble, seemed to like the swing though.

  • @hoshikou I know its a girl. Read the dectription. That was her first time outside so she was kinde scared of the grass.

  • @petrit1995 sorry i misread the description i thought it said "his name". if i were that little and it was my first time on it if be scared to

  • She's so cute!!!!! I especially loved her on the swing, that was adorable <3

  • how is she doing?

  • @NemochiSnowball Yes i clipped her wings.

  • @petrit1995 why do that when u can tech her on the inside to stay on ur finger or not to fly unless told

  • @gamerzx10 Do you know how hard that is? I am no bird expert.

  • @petrit1995 meh guess so :P
