I have worked in both environments. in an office not seeing sunlight for 8 hours and manual labour for an environmental agency. Im sure it was not as tough as a foundry, but either way i preferred it because there was a feeling of actually doing something.
why is it office workers think they are the most stressed of workers? I worked in an office for years, its a cop out, you can fool just about anyone into believing you are working when you are actually on the internet booking a holiday or on the phone to your mom. Never had it so good, now I work as a chef-- now thats stress!
True. But the real problem with office work is its soul destroying, theres no real sense of purpose or practical application. Theres no sense of being in the real world.
The screens don't actually flicker when you are in the office. It just looks like that in this video because the scan rate of the video camera is not in sync with that of the monitor.
why can't my work do this

Most work places involve being indoors for extended amounts of time unless you are lucky enough to have a job that involves being outside.
In any event I'd murder my own grandma for an office job.

I like how those business men talk about a "hard meeting", try working in a foundry once you weak ass suits.

1. That doesn't make sense, I am comparing jobs, not working tactics or methods.
2. It's spelled "douche" not "doosh", idiot

Why is there so many CRTs in a video from 2009?
ploxioths 9 months ago
@ploxioths the video was posted in 2009, not necessarily recorded in 2009.

They should probably think about sorting out their flickering computer screens as well, as this is bound to cause headaches and eyesight problems.

@scutworker They do flicker but not like in the video, it just happens too fast for the human eye to detect.
