@Mezcalycigarros I do not watch many modern horror fims AT ALL! You have definetely got yourself mistaken because if I am anything I am a horror classics maniac!!!!!!!!!!!! I love them because they define the word horror itself! I think the golden age for horror started at 1970-1990 REMEMBER, THE EXORCIST CAME OUT IN 1973 AND THE ORIGINAL TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE CAME OUT IN 1974 so therefore it wouldn't make sense without those 2 amazing films! The Exorcist and Texas Chainsaw changed cinema life
The Hills Run Red is an example of a good modern slasher film of the past decade or so! The killer "Babyface" was terrifying and awesome at the same time! The movie felt like a mixture of The Blair Witch Project, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the House of Wax Remake!
MY BIGGEST RULE FOR A SLASHER FILM: THE KILLERS MUST. WEAR. MASKS.
That's what makes them terrifying! The 2008 creepy psychological home invasion horror film "The Strangers" was pretty much only good because of the creepy masks and the atmosphere! When Dollface was on the swingset...THAT WAS SCARY AS HECK!!!!! Wear masks. And you'll make money!

@11poketrainer Hahahaha fuck yeah but I think that has been the market strategy for, oh I don't know...35 yrs or so. But I actually thought that was alot more disturbing and upsetting than all these other movies. They said that movie was pretty much how it happened in real life. And cause you don't know they're motivation, that makes it more fucked up. : )
@11poketrainer 11poketrainer THAT CLOWN IS ERICK SLATER FROM THE MOVIE "THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW", BUT HE ONLY USES THAT OUTFIT AT THE END OF THE MOVIE, JUST BEFORE BEING KILLED BY KATIE, THE FINAL GIRL.
@THEFLAPJACKMASTER It would definitely be the shit, but definitely draw. Or Mikey MOTHERFUCKER!!! Yayyyy....oh I mean *AHEM* so terribly sorry bout that. Don't know whatcame over me lol.
@venomey666 no dude! It's not The Funhouse! There isn't really a clown in that movie anyway! (Disappointing, I know, the poster is misleading!) But I was wondering that too! WHO IS THAT SCARY LOOKING JESTER CLOWN??? I. MUST. KNOW ASAP!!!!! It might be from Clownhouse but I don't really think so because I saw the trailer and a couple scenes from Clownhouse and I didn't see any clowns with actual masks on! There faces were painted! I personally think clown masks are scarier then clown makeup!
@11poketrainer I think the movie with the guy in the Jester mask may be Slaughter High. Definatly not Clownhouse as ur right, the 3 killers in that have face paint.
@REKONBALL2 The reason the 80s movies feel different is because Hollywood didn't throw millions of dollars at them to make them look polished and slick. They were low-budget films with a low-budget look that lent to their realism. They are much, much better than the sterrilized remakes Hollywood cranks out now days.
There is an image of a boy coming out of a woman's stomach at 1:24:00...I know I've seen that movie, but have no idea what the name is..can't find it on the internet either..can someone help me?
so were movies like the boogeyman but they talked about that on this documentary.freddie maybe have supernatural qualities but he is definately slasher, jus like candyman.
@deejay114 Think re-making House on Sorority Row was a bad move? Classics like Psycho, (1974's) Black Christmas, When A Stranger Calls, Friday The 13th, the Fog, and the Amityville Horror, have, also, been given the re-make treatment. WHEN OH WHEN will the re-makes STOP?! Oh, about to be released on Blu-Ray DVD, next month, the original I Spit On Your Grave ALONG with its RE-MAKE.
@AngelofAnguish as long as these no talent visionless douche bags keep making money off of destroying movies that are fine to begin with and marketing them to teenagers (sadly my generation) then ther will always be remakes. its sad.
@AngelofAnguish they usually are massively inferior to the original but one has to admit they are entertaining and offer a guilty pleasure in a bizarre way. Though would like to say in my own opinion the re-make of Friday the 13th i thought was better than the original, if inferior to the second and fourth films. Plus Halloween and TCM re-makes weren't bad efforts, just pointless as the originals are both so excellant and not in need of a re-imagining.
If you lived thru-the 1980s classic slasher era or just love those old classic movies, you will absolutely love this little documentary filled with exciting scenes, and interviews with the directors, such as Wes Craven, and many great horror actors of the day.
Halloween is approaching, so this is a terrific one to rent or buy! Trust me on this one! Watch if you dare!!!! Argghhhh!!!!
what really sucks is that theres no alfred hitchcock interview for this may his soul rest in piece NOT PIECES i just hope it has slumber party massacre in the documentary
that looks fucking awsome. but like. where was freddy the best slasher killer ever? well tomorrows friday 13th haha cant wait to rent them all out, go jason!
Hell yeah ! i think no one can beat The fourths Slashers legends: Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, Leatherface and Freddy Krueger. They are the best, and it's not a little dolly like Chucky or somes fags like "ghostface" (scream), "Pinhead" (hellraiser) or "Candyman" who can compete with them. They are the ELITE, The best killers of all movies man ! They pwn everything and everywhere. A lot of people will not agree with me but i don't cares. Slasher-fans know that i'm right!

I just got finished watching it on 'Starz On Demand' - it is a really good documentary. Takes me back to those old slasher movies I grew up on. I'd almost forgotten about 'Terror Train'.
this is an awesome documentary, and the close minded people should watch this so they can stop being so damn stupid and understand that this kind of movies are art.
I love old, classic slashers, especially the ones in this clip: -Halloween -The Prowler -Graduation Day -The House on Sorority Row -Black CHristas -Prom Night -Terror Train -Maniac -Alice,Sweet Alice -My BLoody Valentine -The Slumber Party Massacre -Pieces -The Initiation -The Burning -The Boogeyman.
There's a song that is frequently played throughout the whole documentary, I'm desperately looking for this song, if anyone knows the title, please PM me.
I like this clip. Makes me NEED to buy the whole DVD, as I love retro slashers. Good flicks in this clip: -Halloween -The Prowler -Graduation Day -The House On Sorority Row -Black Christmas -Prom Night -Terror Train -Maniac -Alice Sweet Alice -My Bloody Valentine -Slumber Party Massacre -Pieces -The Initiation -The Burning
