Hi EJFOO, Acrylic medium is the same formulation as acrylic paint, but without the pigment (colour). They work to control transparency, drying times, viscosity and surface sheen of Acrylic Paint, unlike water which weakens film integrity etc. I would reccomend using Acrylic Medium, but you could certainly try this technique with Acrylic Paint and water or Oil Paints and Oil Medium.
