@warFATALITY i learned this word two years ago, it is the black lung disease, what happens is that a little tiny microscopic rock gets caught in your lungs when your breathing and u die because it stops u from breathing, it is also referred to as black death and happens most often to miners
@metalisagodes I learned its a black lung disease that you can only get by inhaling the microscopic silica from volcanic eruptions :p and from what I'm guessing it isn't diagnosed very often o_O
but good god i would hate to be the doctor who has to tell someones family that their son/daughter/mother/father/whatever has pneumonoultrasilic...... dammit.....
its a lung disease caused by the inhalation of silica dust and i can spell it without copying and paste it pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis and can pronounce and im 9!
@wolfykinsfromroblox~ it is a lung disease caused by the inhalation of microscopic silica dust particles. the particles are usually found at the site of recently erupted volcanoes
I'm norwegian but I only had to read the title twice in my head to memorize it. I'm constantly baffled by how the english-speaking seem to have the most trouble with pronounciating english.
this is my fav word when i began to read the dictionary, love it always ! it supercalifragilisticexpialidocious:) there are so many sesquipedalian words:)
thats funny im 13 too and it took me less than 5 minutes to learn,if you dont count the time it took me to actually spell the whole word...oh your talking about learning how to say the word not spell it...well id say about 12 times i had to say it
@WikkidSk8r its funny the actual word is Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitokatakechymenokichlepikossyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon im still trying to learn it though
@ShitBallsBanana that word isnt in the latest dictionary and so is the chemical name of titin which has over 180000 letters whereas,Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitokatakechymenokichlepikossyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon only has 183.And its a fictional word so its not really a word.
I had to learn that word as an extra credit point on a test for my Anatomy & Physiology class a couple years ago. It's actually pretty easy, just all the letters are intimidating. Like my last name has 13 letters and people always mess it up but it's just 3 words put together - Van-landing-ham. Simple.
OMG, LOL. None of you know what that is???? And he can't say it right. Anyway, it's a disease in the respitory system that you can get from breathing in too much volcanic toxic gasses.
this is a hard word to say and it means a extreme lung disease caused by breathing in silica dust from a erupting volcano good job pronouncing it 5stars :)
but the longest word is still Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitokatakechymenokichlepikossyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon
it means a lung disease caused by inhailing mineral or metalic dust that causes air leakage and simultaneous bleeding in the lung cavity... who knew??
i think they just threw whatever word sounded cool... :D like ectoplasmicsuperkillingfrenzyhalocallofdutymegatronmegagodzilla. Can you guess the meaning of the word? I'll give you a hint... its something that comes out of a bull's ass.
Two chemical terms (3,641 and 1,913 letters long) have appeared in the Guinness Book of World Records. They were withdrawn because they have never been used by chemists, and there is no theoretical limit to the length of possible legitimate chemical terms. A DNA molecule could have a name of over one billion letters if it was written out in full.
but seriously dude, it really isnt that hard. its baically just a mixture of words, like microscopic and volcano and stuff. I memorized it in 5 minutes, and it really isnt hard.
lol i learned that in 5 minutes, and i can say it faster. ;-P
It is, as Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary puts it, a pneumoconiosis (A.K.A. a chronic lung disease) caused by inhalation of very fine silicate or quartz dust. It is (supposedly) the longest word in the English language, at 45 letters and 19 syllables long.
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is a disease caused from the inhalation of volcanic ash containing ash, quartz, and dust. i swear i memorized this in 4th grade. it was so easy.......
"'a factitious word alleged to mean 'a lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica dust, causing inflammation in the lungs.' A condition meeting the word's definition is normally called silicosis."

"a factitious word alleged to mean 'a lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica dust, causing inflammation in the lungs." A condition meeting the word's definition is normally called silicosis.
It occurs chiefly as an instance of a very long word. The 45-letter word was coined to serve as the longest English word and is the longest word ever to appear in an English language dictionary.
Quite easy once you get the hang of it. I say it all the time xD.
