@gusbest1 Actually I didn't want to make the film too gruesome. The chopping off of the Jabberwock's head was made a bit tongue-in-cheek. That's the style I was going after.
I was thinking of the falling over part to make it look ray harryhausen style ending. He usually made the death long especially with the dinosaurs with the waging of the tail and death roars.
I see you add ed some of Wonderland to your film, the disappearing cat in the tree references the Cheshire Cat, the giant teapot references the mad tea party, the sleeping chess man resembles the sleepling Red King, the smoking mushroom references the hookah smoking blue caterpillar and I love the references you made! :)
@Madhatter1903 Actually, I didn't do that much thinking about any proper references. This is supposed to be an age long before Alice stepped through the looking glass. I just added stuff on instinct, what I thought would fit in or look cool. Glad to hear that I managed to do that!
Haha jag fick en chock när jag hörde en svensk röst (;
Detta är skitbra :D <3
Men jag gillar inte översättningen på The Vorlpal-Sword och Jabberwocky (; Jag kommer ihåg att jag läste den engelska versionen först, så det kändes konstigt att läsa ord som Tjatterskott (;
@wilsonrussell44 No, I bought it from a guy who made armatures out of aircraft aluminum. Can't remember his name right now. I'm not sure he's still making them.
@wilsonrussell44 You'll have to make a mold in at least three parts, probably more. I'll mail you a link to a page explaing this process (since YouTube won't let me post the link here).
@bluworm thanks but i already am getting help from someone else but could you tell me how to keep the parts of a silicone mold from touching each other since it is a 3 part mold ?
@wilsonrussell44 You need some kind of relaese lubricant. I'm not sure, but Vaseline might work. There are ready-made silicone release agents available. Smoothon.com has all the info on that.
@bluworm thanks and i am trying to make a silicone mold for a trex and i already have the mold planned out but if i make a 3 part mold since you have to make a seperate peice for the legs how would you get the toes out since 2 of the toes are fully covered in silicone?
@wilsonrussell44 You'd probably have to make yet another mold piece for the underside of your puppet's feet. Some don't and just let the foam set under the feet, having the underside of the puppet's toes not covered with mold material. You can always add more detailing over your cast puppet, like under its feet. In fact, it's difficult getting all the details of your puppet just i one casting. Most puppet builders add more stuff after the puppet is cast.
i think the jabberwocky is your best puppet! it looks so cool! i went to your website and based my allosaurus puppet armature off of the jabberwocky armature. :)
@JesseRex1 The Jabberwocky is, perhaps my most complex puppet so far, with the ball-and-socket armature and all the moving parts. I'm glad to hear that you could use him as inspiration for your own work :)
the animation is absoluddly brilliaentt! it suits the poem to a T! the narration is really lovely, its fascinating to hear my favorite nonsense poem in another language! the only thing that lets this piece down is the young boy actor, i can see he had alota fun and good on him! but im afraid it makes the whole thing hard to get into.
having said that, its still freaking brillient work!
@TheWildStar11 Thanks! I do think that Björn (the boy) makes a pretty OK hero in this context. I told the two actors (friends of mine) to overdo it, in order to fit into the crazy settings and the animation. So the blame is mine if you don't like him.
I will be needing someone like you in the future. So it would be great to keep in contact. Feel free to do the same. You never know where it could lead us. Cheers and good luck and I will be watching.
Well, I did the translation myself and I think it turned out pretty well. I actually did this for a book of nonsense poetry I wanted to publish in Sweden. Hasn't happened yet -one day, perhaps. Glad you liked the film! It was both difficult and great fun to to. A growing and learning experience.
I'm not doing the narration actually -Beatrice (the girl appearing at the start and the end) is. She's supposed to be a teenaged Alice (in Wonderland).
this is my favourite but I think you should of added a scene were the headless jabberwocky falls over.
