Continued....Keep your dog as safe as possible in the event of a seizure and provide a quiet, darker room and be by their side. Mine likes to cuddle afterward. Watch other dogs because the pack instinct can be to attack dyrubg a seizure....survival of the fittest thing.
Continued...He is now almost 10 and the vet can't believe that he is doing as well as he is. Seizures are noticed about once a month but he may have them more often but we could be sleeping or gone. He had one on Christmas day from the stress of visitors. Stress and heat seem to induce them for him. Also do not stimulate the tumors by rubbing or feeling them since it can release histamines. I give him Benadryl and it helps. He usually has 2 stages of seizures but 1 pill between works.
Hi. Sorry to hear about your dog. My dog does not have any on his face but most are around the upper chest and back area including arm pit. Not all lumps are mast cell tumors, some can be fat deposits. You should really have one biopsied in the event you haven't yet. My dog has one very large tumor which is about 7 inches long and 5 inches wide (but kind of flat) and the rest go from marble to golf ball size. My dog has had this for almost 4 years now and has seizures about once a month.
i didnt know mast cell tumors cause seizures?? my doggie is in surgery right now to remove his...one might not get clean amrgins due to the location but im praying they do and that theyre grade 1
This part 2 is the hard part of the seizure. He shakes uncontrollably. I didn't catch it all because we had to contain the other dog who attacks him when this happens. It is a pack animal thing.
Once he is done with his seizure he usually is fine. It always comes in 2 parts. The first is the stare and drool. His eyes bulge. The second produces fear where he usually jumps on my lap to be reassured that he is ok.

Good luck and I hope your dogs do well.

I have a lab who has seizures. He suddenly has a growth on his face. Does your dog have these tumors on his face or head area?
