There at about 25 seconds is G.W.Bush, 43rd President of the United States! This is 1981, 20 years to the day that he took office! It is high time for Americans to recognize that V.P Bush's kid, got the job done! There have been no 'notable' terrorist strikes against our beloved land. It is 'simply', as most may refer to 'him', the Bush Doctrine'. No matter what you think of this great man, remember, 'Bush Doctrine'. Decades after, we must still stand united against 'our' common threat!
Reagan's people went over to Iran and told the hostage-takers they'd get a better deal with a Reagan presidency, rather than settling with the Carter Administration. This was TREASON. Carter had been on the verge of resolving the crisis and getting the hostages freed, up until that point. With the hostages still in captivity, Carter's loss was assured. And so the hostages were released just minutes after Reagan was sworn in.
@GoldwaterB, well, you put a 'nice' little swing on it. The true fact is that Iran was no longer prepared to deal with Jim & Co. Everyone know that Iran deliberately delayed the release, because they were scared of Reagan. I know the weak DEMS don't want folly slack back from 30 plus years, but what do you offer now?! An extra virgin' olive branch to the Taliban, the people who have 'owned you' at home; please! Let us respect American blood, let us go home with dignity!
@cockshe There is no such "true fact" that you are referring to. The Carter Administration was closing in on a deal with Iran to free the hostages. If Reagan's people undercut the President by dealing with the Iranians, THAT WAS TREASON. Your assertion that "Iran deliberately delayed the release because they were scared of Reagan" makes no sense.
Thank God Carter lost. He said, "I'll spend the rest of my life apologizing for losing to Ronald Reagan." Jimmy, STOP APOLOGIZING! We could use another RONNIE now!
Notice the young dark haired gentleman in the suit who shakes hands with Mrs. Rosalyn Carter just after she reaches her seat. It is a young George W. Bush!!!
They are watching themselves on TV at 3:12. Or glancing at themselves on it every once in a while.

On that day in 1981, there were four presidents (past, present, and future)standing on that podium (Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43).
At 6:43, the 41st president shook hands with the 39th.
