  • I've never seen that type of lift before, and I've worked out for well over thirty years. Yes, I'll echo another one or two comments here and say that is quite impressive. Great job man.

  • Damn it man, so low with such a heavy zercher, and you keep your back so straight. Whenever I go this low on a zercher squat, I end up doing a good morning... you must have a really strong back, how much do you deadlift?

  • Zercher squat can really boost other lift totals, if you're into powerlifting.

    We rotate between heavy box squats, zercher, and standard squats in our routines.

    Seems like it really strengthens abdominal area, lower back and then quads/hams secondarily, if its performed with good form.

  • yeah, it had a purpose but it didn't even last through the first rep. caused more pain than anything else.

  • I believe there are zercher lifts (what you are referring to) and zercher squats which is what is being performed in the video.

  • correction: i tried to use the plank but it slipped off on bottom of rep 1. so yes, i wanted to use it, but couldn't anyway, lol.

  • When I read the title first, I thought that by raw you meant that you didn't have anything to protect the arms! But you use a plank! CHEATER! Just kidding. This is very good, it seemed to go up easily on the 3rd rep until it rolled off.

  • yeah, it wasn't that bad until it dropped off the board on rep 1. then on rep 3, it just went rolling down my arm. fun times. still bruised from it over a week later. 495 is coming, oh yes, it's coming.

  • for the majority quads, hams, and glutes. abs are used to a degree but no more than any other squatting movement, same can be said for lower back.

  • nice dude...most people don't realize the impact of that type of weight on the arms and back till you try it.
