A pity this song is always associated (at least here in Blighty) with (do excuse me, I only use this foul word for sake of accuracy) 'nigger' or black-face minstrels, and is therefore, apart from intermittently one may hear it at a brass band in one of the older seaside towns, persona non grata - it is a reasonably pleasant, optimistic tune, rare enough these days.

@AgentCarter This was written for "minstrel shows" back in the 1800s where white performers (eventually blacks too) would "black up" and act out black stereotypes such as general behavior, the way they talked with a dialect/accent, hence "doodaadoodaa".
