  • are there any old songs that aren't Minstrel, black face or based on black people?

  • @GetThisThingCrunk That's where some of the earliest actual culture in America came from. All those songs that the black slaves made up, the whites adopted and called their own, mocking the slaves. Rather an engering story.

  • 10 people lost their bet on the bob tail nag....

  • Some home made moonshine and I'll bet my money on the bobtail nag too. Timeless American music. I Love it!

  • So this is what the songs called

  • Reminds me of Blazing Saddles, go Mel Brooks

  • Appaloosa!

  • I LOVE THE BANJO

  • I'm trying to play this on my flute. It reminds me A LOT of Camp Lazlo.

  • What in the Wild World of Sports is going on?!

  • rednecks rednecks everywhere

  • Hey you with the broken nose, sing dooda, dideedooda!

  • yeah cool music i love this music. cok guzel hareketler bunlar duda duda

  • That reminds me of Bugs Bunny who liked to sing this song

  • @Damijan86 Hardy har :)

  • A pity this song is always associated (at least here in Blighty) with (do excuse me, I only use this foul word for sake of accuracy) 'nigger' or black-face minstrels, and is therefore, apart from intermittently one may hear it at a brass band in one of the older seaside towns, persona non grata - it is a reasonably pleasant, optimistic tune, rare enough these days.

  • @jfwfreo I say... I say that Foghorn Leghorn resembles your remark...

  • This song reminds me of roosters for some reason although I cant put my finger on it...

  • The Plant that Ate Dirty Socks. If you know what I'm talking about, then you're awesome and well read.

  • +qd+

  • I may not be an American but I sure do love these civil war musics. And thats coming from a guy who's 21

  • @8911063538 actually this was written before the civil war by Stephen Foster in 1850 and the civil war started in the early 1860s

  • Io l'ho fatta a musica!!!

  • they sung it mistrel style i see. i guess this is supposed to be authentic

  • This reminds me of Camp Lazlo d;

  • @2keRules Gosh dang kids... Do you know what this should be reminding you of? Summer nights, Fourth of July, Family, Camp fires, and our freedom.

    Not some childrens TV show

  • @FanOfBoxMan are you serious? you clearly dont know shit about this song if you think its supposed to remind us of freedom

  • @AgentCarter This was written for "minstrel shows" back in the 1800s where white performers (eventually blacks too) would "black up" and act out black stereotypes such as general behavior, the way they talked with a dialect/accent, hence "doodaadoodaa".

  • @fobsternd yea, im well aware of that. thats the entire point of my comment

  • @FanOfBoxMan

yeah except the kids never got the opportunity to hear this on the radio on their road trips to the south. they found it on a very decent cartoon and cared enough to look it up, I think that's pretty cool

  • @FanOfBoxMan this was written in 1850... US slavery was at its peak with 4 million enslaved blacks

Anything pre 1968 i think inequality

  • @Ali74 Frederick Douglass, 54th and 55th Massachusttes, Runciman's Company in Upper Canada, Bobby Lee Saying "Slavery is an immoral institution that we must rid ourselves of if we are to be a nation of men" But yeah until 1968 everything was unequal. Cheers!

  • The Anarchists' anthem is an international anthem that consists of 365 raspberries blown in very quick succession to the tune of "Camptown Races". Nobody has to stand up for it, nobody has to listen to it, and, even better, nobody has to play it.
