He's right you know, apart from the console exclusives, 99% of the games look and play identically. What you should be looking at is the build quality of the unit and other things the console can do and how well it does them, if you want a true overall comparison. PS3 does WAAAAY more, built in wireless, blu-ray, free online gaming, great DVD upscaling, the list goes on!

BUT the cell processor in the ps3 can help the GPU and make way better graphics, physics then the 360 can do
for example "killzone 2 only used 60% of the cell processor/ GPU"
Ps3 is much more powerful but since the pocessor has 8 cores it is much harder to develop for than the 360s cpu with 3 pc cores. + the cell processor can help the gpu with texture resolution and Anti-Alising so 360 exlusives will never look as good as great ps3 exclusives.

All the people who say they got both consoles are lying. Not to mention the 360 has a better dashboard. You say the ps3 has a better controller? it's because you dont play with a 360 control dumbass. I personally hate the ps3's joystick location.
This game has been extremely well optimized for the consoles and PC, unfortunately the PC version is not the main one anymore (as it should be with the FEAR series) and that's why there isn't such a huge difference between all versions except the consoles's slightly lower resolution, but everything else is dandy on the consoles in my opinion.
The differences are EXTREMELY small, and this is from someone who prefers to play most multi-platform FPS games (and other games too) on my PC and I own a PS3 and have owned (not anymore though) a 360.
I played the PC version's demo first when the game came out early this year, at the highest settings and at 1920x1080.
I then played the PS3 version and also the 360 version at someone else's house (I think on 720p) and there's almost no difference (except control).

360 has technically "better" graphics, but the PS3 is what you want if you want to save money in the long run as well as having a futureproof console. Graphics really isn't a problem this generation.

If you look REALLY close on both versions of the game, the lighting scheme is more vibrant on the 360 and the textures are drawn at a higher level of detail. I've played the game on all 3 systems. Give or take the fact my PC sucks, I enjoyed the game the most on the 360. The PS3 version is equally great. It's technologically inferior to the 360 version though.
Killzone 2 is an average run of the mill shooter, by the way.

Killzone 2 is good, but it's just another game - it's not suddenly going to make the PS3 all that much better. It is, however, a good sign of what you can do with all that extra Bluray space.

I worked in a company where I had to test play games. It turns out most games that are released for both systems are usually better on 360 because they're built on Microsoft's platform for 360 first, then they're transferred to ps3 with lots of new bugs.
Not all games are buit on 360 first. FEAR 1 and 2 were built on Pc first and ported to consoles. So since both games are ports from the Pc version there gonna look the same. So compare these to Pc version and the Pc would RAPE it.

KZ2 may look good, but the controls are shit, and PS3 online can't even compare to Xbox Live.

The controls are shit when you don't even take a second to get a feel for them. The controls have grown on me and I find them much more comfortable, and realistic, then Halo.

sony has lost over 3.1 bilion $ on the ps3 alone, microsoft has 60$ a year from 300,000 people coming in, multi-plat would be out sooner but because of the ps3 the codeing is harder and longer, yes graphics will own the 360 in a year but in a year microsoft could have another console ready and double the ps3's hardware, im not a 360, fanboy nor a pc fanboy, but from what i know and what to expect the decision to buy a ps3 is still verry slim for me
PS3's coding isn't longer, nor harder. It just takes getting used to, instead of using software, to use hardware. It's a minor inconvenience, and is the way of the future.
Microsoft, no way in hell, will be putting a new console out within the next *at least* three years.
And even then, they won't be using a Bluray player, so, in the end, the new console will still fall sharply to the PS3.

Try crysis on your spec , it will eat your computer up and spit it out at that resolution and settings. My point is that a 360 need not be upgraded nor can it be. Every game can be played by all at the same settings with no threat over the system not cutting the requirement. I have played online games on a pc and must say i prefer it over consoles . HOWEVER once consoles finally realise that servers are the way forward consoles will give pcs a much better run for their money .
Rubbish. I've got a AMD X2 2.5ghz 8800GT 2GB RAM, it's a not a new PC and can play Fall Out 3, COD 4 & 5 at 1920x1200 maximum settings, no AA though.

At any rate when you purchased that outdated pc it will have cost a lot more then a 360 or ps3 both of which have better system specs then your pc. What i meant was is that to remain playing games at high graphic settings a computer MUST EVENTUALLY be upgraded.
The only difference between them are just some little FPS drops in PS3 in some fights and in 360 when using the Powered Armor and THAT'S IT. Little FPS drops, nothing else.

PC's are much further advanced then the consoles this is indisuputable. When the x box 360 and ps3 came out they both sported direct x 9 cards. When the pc had moved onto direct x 10. However both forms of entertainment have pros and cons. Pc needs to be upgraded to play the next games. But lets be honest here the last half decent game to come out for the pc was call of duty 4. over a year ago. Pc for hardcore gamers , 360 for people who have social lifes. that may be the case for CRT, I have owned them in the past but why would you use a low resolution? Some gamers use 800x600 to get 300fps. I'd rather have 50-60fps at a higher res.
Problem with CRT is eyestrain even at 120hz get eye fatigue but with LCD I don't.

second the xbox and the ps3 dont even come close to using half of the processor

This game has been extremely well optimized for the consoles and PC, unfortunately the PC version is not the main one anymore (as it should be with the FEAR series) and that's why there isn't such a huge difference between all versions except the consoles's slightly lower resolution, but everything else is dandy on the consoles in my opinion.

The differences are EXTREMELY small, and this is from someone who prefers to play most multi-platform FPS games (and other games too) on my PC and I own a PS3 and have owned (not anymore though) a 360.
I played the PC version's demo first when the game came out early this year, at the highest settings and at 1920x1080.
I then played the PS3 version and also the 360 version at someone else's house (I think on 720p) and there's almost no difference (except control).

If you look REALLY close on both versions of the game, the lighting scheme is more vibrant on the 360 and the textures are drawn at a higher level of detail. I've played the game on all 3 systems. Give or take the fact my PC sucks, I enjoyed the game the most on the 360. The PS3 version is equally great. It's technologically inferior to the 360 version though.
Killzone 2 is an average run of the mill shooter, by the way.

both 360 and PS3 about the same except small differences. I have ps3 though, cause i don't like why the hell microsoft charges for live, when you have an internet connection of your own. I would understand if they would give you some kind of internet booster for 360 or something special. But you get nothing, except access to online which you should already have. Ps3 gets free online access and has Playstation home, which you control a character in a world and chat to your friends, etc.

Killzone 2 is good, but it's just another game - it's not suddenly going to make the PS3 all that much better. It is, however, a good sign of what you can do with all that extra Bluray space.
On the graphics front, horses for courses. The exclusives are good, but the multi-platforms look fudged. You can't get around the fact that the two systems do things differently.
I spend waaaaay more time on my 360. It's just my choice.

I worked in a company where I had to test play games. It turns out most games that are released for both systems are usually better on 360 because they're built on Microsoft's platform for 360 first, then they're transferred to ps3 with lots of new bugs.

Whoa! Stop! You didn't actually think that ANY games were made on consoles themselves right? All games are made on computers then ported to consoles. Everyone knows that. 360 and PS3 have slightly different hardware that is capable of doing certain special effects. Some better than the others, depending on game engine used. So, some games are made to show off graphics with one or the other console in mind. A lot of games are ported to 360 first and only later to PS3.

Stop, you're spot on mate - that's the running order for most ports, and is commonly held as the reason why the PS3 suffers with so many multi-platform releases.
The different hardware does different things. The PS3 will give you a higher framerate than the 360; but the 360 will put out better textures.
It's horses for courses, as to preferences. But if you have one, or both, you won't be disappointed. It's a good time to be a gamer!

360 is the best right now I find and I would say PS3 will last longer though due to higher specs andwill reach it's limit much later on.

The ps3 overall has much more powerful abilities than a 360, but these games are literally identical.
When they port the game engines from Pc to either (both) consoles, they make them run identically.
The only key differences is that the ps3's nVidia chip renders pretty faster than the 360's graphics chip.
Noticeable difference: Hardly.
The game's developers make sure that the games run the same for everything they port it too.

The controls are shit when you don't even take a second to get a feel for them. The controls have grown on me and I find them much more comfortable, and realistic, then Halo.
Halo 3 does NOT have better gameplay. Honestly. I *LOVED* Halo. Halo 2, eh.. Was still playable. Halo 3 is a laugh. It's a complete nade fest with one-hit-kill weapons.
Killzone 2 not only looks better, feels more realistic, and has an (imo)better story line, it also has a more mature playerbase.

sony has lost over 3.1 bilion $ on the ps3 alone, microsoft has 60$ a year from 300,000 people coming in, multi-plat would be out sooner but because of the ps3 the codeing is harder and longer, yes graphics will own the 360 in a year but in a year microsoft could have another console ready and double the ps3's hardware, im not a 360, fanboy nor a pc fanboy, but from what i know and what to expect the decision to buy a ps3 is still verry slim for me

PS3's coding isn't longer, nor harder. It just takes getting used to, instead of using software, to use hardware. It's a minor inconvenience, and is the way of the future.
Microsoft, no way in hell, will be putting a new console out within the next *at least* three years.
And even then, they won't be using a Bluray player, so, in the end, the new console will still fall sharply to the PS3.
You obviously are a 360 fanboy, as you can pull number out your ass like every other one.

yeah honestly very little difference, ps3 uses highlights blood effects, look at alma's feet when you start the game, ps3 looks better just a tad, xbox 360 performs better, i played the demo for both, bought it for the xbox rather than my ps3, simply because of controls, LT and RT feel better to aim and shoot than the L2 and R2 buttons, if fear used R1 and L1 to aim and shoot, i woulda bought it for the ps3.

Along with the fact you use no AA which adds a crispness to the image and sapps your system dramatically. Only beaten by shadows and shader details. Of course you would know that a 360 or ps3 uses full anti aliasing and antistropic filtering for most of its games right. lol . give it one year and try to play games on that computer you have dude and we shall see if it needs upgrading in some way shape or form to play games like my 360 does . peace

Try crysis on your spec , it will eat your computer up and spit it out at that resolution and settings. My point is that a 360 need not be upgraded nor can it be. Every game can be played by all at the same settings with no threat over the system not cutting the requirement. I have played online games on a pc and must say i prefer it over consoles . HOWEVER once consoles finally realise that servers are the way forward consoles will give pcs a much better run for their money .

Rubbish. I've got a AMD X2 2.5ghz 8800GT 2GB RAM, it's a not a new PC and can play Fall Out 3, COD 4 & 5 at 1920x1200 maximum settings, no AA though.
Lol with a spec like that im suprised you can even load up windows. At any rate when you purchased that outdated pc it will have cost a lot more then a 360 or ps3 both of which have better system specs then your pc. What i meant was is that to remain playing games at high graphic settings a computer MUST EVENTUALLY be upgraded.

The only difference between them are just some little FPS drops in PS3 in some fights and in 360 when using the Powered Armor and THAT'S IT. Little FPS drops, nothing else.
The game is awesome in BOTH systems (well, yeah. The 3 systems actually with the PC xD)

PC's are much further advanced then the consoles this is indisuputable. When the x box 360 and ps3 came out they both sported direct x 9 cards. When the pc had moved onto direct x 10. However both forms of entertainment have pros and cons. Pc needs to be upgraded to play the next games. But lets be honest here the last half decent game to come out for the pc was call of duty 4. over a year ago. Pc for hardcore gamers , 360 for people who have social lifes. Counter strike source ftw !

Rubbish. I've got a AMD X2 2.5ghz 8800GT 2GB RAM, it's a not a new PC and can play Fall Out 3, COD 4 & 5 at 1920x1200 maximum settings, no AA though.

With that resolution, there's no need for AA, so no problem
Also with CRT monitors, small resolutions look great. :)

that may be the case for CRT, I have owned them in the past but why would you use a low resolution? Some gamers use 800x600 to get 300fps. I'd rather have 50-60fps at a higher res.
Problem with CRT is eyestrain even at 120hz get eye fatigue but with LCD I don't.
