As I learned Thai history in school growing up, the Thai government made a tactical decision to give control of Laos to the French as part of the concession or arrangement with one of the 2 dominant European powers at that time - France and England. The English got Malaysia which was under Thai control as well. Then the English took Burma, and the French also took Cambodia and Vietnam calling it Indochine (IndoChina)
Thai history is fabricated. The French did divide Laos. Under the Franco-Siamese treaties of 1893 and 1907, the western part of Laos(now known as Isan) was given to Siam or Thailand. This is a historical fact.

Which mean, we still lack both DNA and Origin of our people because of our rich diversity. Most Thais just go about their lives just like you, e.g., go to work, raising children, do grocery, come home and make dinner, clean dishes, help kids with homework, have sex with their husbands or wives, and go to sleep. Then start the next day all over the again in the same way.

As a result, the Laos and the Thais are part of the Tai speaking people. The migration from original homeland in Southern China, just North of Vietnam, happened in many successive waves. This is where the Tai Speaking people of China live. From here they spread to Vietnam, Laos, Siam, Burma, India, Bangladesh and Nepal. In each of these countries they are called differently, but we all share common origin, ancestors and language. DNA studies already have proven this. For example, Tai people have different DNA than Huns.

Which mean, we still lack both DNA and Origin of our people because of our rich diversity. So it concluded that DNA still need to be re-examine every few decade because we are still in a stage of processing...
