Wow, that is really bad customer service on Verizon's part. I would escalate this matter to a Supervisor at Verizon and tell them that if they do not give you better service that you will blog and/or Tweet about the matter -- which will scare Verizon into doing the right thing for the last thing they want is more bad press (which they already deservedly have). I hope this helps and please keep us posted.
Hey Lovely, I had a similar experience, but they hard wired my wireless modem? How the heck the did that, I don't know, but I had to call them back and have them fix it. Apparently the phone tech was not supposed to install the wireless connection and when the wireless guy came out, he started laughing at what they did.
Sweetie, you did exactly what I would have done. I wonder what the deal was with the battery though?????
@ battery comment....okay honey, you should have seen me. I was inspector gagit going over the notebook. My husband (he was at work) was like look really good because some bugs are micro size. I was look for anything that I could see that did not look right. I found nothing, prayed about the situation and let it be.
DSL is supposed to be self install so not sure what he was doing. I couldn't understand what you said he did to your battery pack but if something goes wrong good luck with getting verizon to do anything about it even though you called them. I only say thisbecause I worked there until August of this year and I know the song and dance they will give you if you call back because he did something that causes your computer not to work.
Thank God I got a call from Verizon today who wanted to know what they could do to rectify the situation. We discussed our terms. When God is in charge man's law will not supersede.
@ the tech, battery issue....he removed the battary I asked what are you doing? He said oh that's just the battery, and began to put it back in place (he was quick on the draw)....I called customer service after I took my notebook from him and he left.
@ DSL self install....True place the disk in the CD/DVD drive it will autorun and the installer will follow the steps. However my install is for a business which include networking and wifi not just basic internet service. I could have installed it my self but I was charged 188.00 for an install and If I am paying for a service, I want the service performed or give me a refund.
