This weapon saw heavy action for 3 months after the German invasion of Norway in April 1940. On all fronts from Narvik in the north to all the fighting in southern Norway. It was the standard LMG in the Norrwegian army at the time, in caliber 6,5 x 55 mm.
The guns are in either 30:06 or 8mm mauser, your choice, and are switchable by changinging the barrel, bolt assembly. These are Danish made guns model 1946 made for Ecuador, at least the kits that I have.
The gun was designed in the very late 1800 and adopted by the Danish Army in 1902 - it was in both World Wars and the Russo-Japanese war, and a various of other conflicts around the world - it was used all the way to 2008 (Brazilian police was the last to use it)
We Danes do not produce guns anymore (What Ive heard) but this amazing gun gotta prove that Denmark arent stupid when it comes to designing guns.
Great vid! Madsen was the best gun on earth! In 1897 it was first bulit and 1902 first used. It was the most modern weapon on that time! Imagine if U use this Madsen against some 100 soliders in 1902! WOW! U can beat a whole army with some of these in the early 1900ies!
