  • Interesting but I'm not sure what your goal was here.

  • @tdjtx, Hi, My goal was to see if the plate I put on would stop the pan from getting dirty with soot. Also to see if the heat reduction by the pan I added to the rocket stove would stop me from cooking. Normally when cooking with a rocket stove the pan is coated with soot. This new method gave me a clean pan that I don't have to clean black soot off of, a major bonus.

  • @marthale7 Oh, ok. I get it now. I thought you were trying to remove soot, turns out you were trying to prevent it. Never heard of a rocket stove, where did you get it?

  • @tdjtx I got the rocket stove off Ebay for about $100.00 The advantages is very very clean burning, and runs off the dead brances from trees. Takes very very little wood. The soot was the only down side for me as I hate to clean it. Now that I have that conquered, I am now ready to use it more. Also check out TLUD stoves that is my next stove I would like to have.

  • Very inventive. I found that soaking pans in clothes washing powder & hot water works a treat at cleaning off soot, but this is even better! Also importantly you've just helped me decide what to cook right now!! :D

  • @TheHolySpirit Hi, I got the idea from watching another youtube video, they did not use the method I have here but had an additional vent. I took that idea, and thought hmm that looks simple enough, but could I do it without the vent, and yeppers it works. Hope you enjoyed your eggs :-)
