  • many p40's destroyed when those japs bombed pearl harbor :(

  • Can anybody tell how much one of these aircrafts cost? Its just interesting :)

  • i saw this one at Avalon flying formation with Spitfire VIII, Mustang D, Sea Fury and Boomerang!

  • Brilliant! Well filmed!

  • More beautiful than a P-51. I wonder what these could've done with a Merlin engine. ?

  • @freiherrudet Some did have Merlins.

  • a pilot who is able to do what

    an airplane with history

    a fantastic engine noise

    fantastically filmed and spliced...

    warbirds-power.de say many thanks

  • MAN I LOVE PLANES, AND THE BEST IN MY OPINION IS P40 KITTYHAWK

AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, BEST AIRPLANES FROM WORLD WAR 2!!!!!

I AM BRAZILIAN BUT I LOVE PLANES, AIRCRAFTS AND THE U.S. ARMY!!!!

YOUR ARE THE BEST, MAN .... THANKS.....

  • do you think i could get a walkaround of this particular plane to help me with my rc model?

  • Kicking Ass

  • Nice plane!

  • Oh dear Lord, what a lovely engine sound...... pure sex.

  • Lindo avião, nunca esquecerei dele!!! Mito.

  • The most menacing looking fighter ever designed....like a rabid dog!

    Good doggy...

  • @groovy67 and that shark mouth makes it a mean-ass bird! I love P40s with a big shark mouth!

  • Yep your right, P40's only had the Allison V12 engine fitted. If they had merlins then i'm sure we would have heard how good they were at higher altitudes. Lovely aircraft.

  • The P-40F and P-40L both had Packard-built Merlins

  • A really great looking aircraft.

  • merlin and griffon engines have the best sounds

  • I dont recall any p-40's having the merlin or griffon... i could be wrong. I'm pretty sure the p-40 had an allison engine in it. same as the p-38 and early 51's

  • the P-40F and L were both fitted with Packard-built Merlins and were used mostly in the desert theatre

  • Brilliant clip of a beautiful plane. Thanks!

  • the p-40 is bad ass especially in flying tiger scheme

  • I love that plane so much. Im gonna own 1 someday

  • Wanna split the costs so we both can own one?

  • Very nice! *sighs* The roar of freedom...

  • The coment earlier about the color scheme being incorrect is in fact not true - this was in fact a real color scheme on the particular aircraft it depicts in Italy - I was interested too but it was verified - it is genuine and rare

  • Magnificent aircraft .. and i still love the sound of those engines .. much nicer than the scream of jets (even though, these days, half an afterburner could demolish a piston engine in zero seconds, in a real battle.)

  • Of course it's in the wrong colour scheme....but...we can forgive him that for getting it back in the air.

  • Yup, have some of a YAK, flown by Chris Sperou. There were a couple of other YAK's at the show, but details escape me at the moment. Life is a bit fraught at the moment, so please be patient.

  • It is now based at Albury Airport. It is a wonderful sight, and a wonderful thing to hear. Great job on the restoration Allan Arthur.

  • Yes NZ restored. Belongs to Alan Arthur.

This aircraft was constructed from a New Zealand P40 (NZ23125) at Wangaratta and Deniliquin over the past five years. The Allison engine was reconditioned in the USA. The entire project was shipped to Pioneer Aero Restorations in New Zealand for completion and was finished just in time for the Wanaka Airshow this Easter.

It was then brought to Australia, and the Jamestown Airshow was its first public appearance in this country

  • very nice, i think this was restored in new zealand? do you have video of the yak 3? there isn't much of those aircraft on here

  • C18 Mustang, YAK, chipmunks, t-28 trojan, and a few more..

  • Very nice, what all planes do you have?

  • umm, have about 1.5 hours of the airshow. Whaddya want? a full length feature? Seriously, editing time is a problem at the moment.. will post more when time permits. Thankyou for the comment.

  • Very nice but too short!
