  • is that dr. bailey?

  • Tonya was definitely robbed of her Tony!!! It really is sad, the politics! Thank you so much for posting these videos of all these magnificent performances in one of my most favorite shows ever.

  • I just saw this production at my College tonight and this show is amazing. the songs and this scene wereso good. I cried after this song.

  • Is that Dr. Bailey?? I love this.

  • This is such an amazing song. It sounds like it was hard for Tonya Pikins to sing.

  • Second only to the incredible "Next to Normal" for the best musical I've seen the past two decades, it was painful to watch this lose Best Musical to Avenue Q, and Tanya was also robbed of Best Actress. It just didn't do well enough commercially to win the so-called artistic awards, which of course are far too influenced by the dollar.

  • I would love to see her play Rose in Gypsy. Her rose's turn would be fierce

  • Is the woman playing Dot from Greys Anatomy?

  • How on earth could they give Idina a Tony for Wicked over THIS phenomenal performance? That seems completely wrong to me. I love Wicked and Idina but come on!! THIS is acting! She deserved that Tony more than anyone else that year IMO, even if just for her performance of this song. Though she was just as amazing in the rest of the show! I will never forget when I saw her in this, this video just brought everything back!! AMAZING

  • I shed a tear every time I watch this - it's simply superb

  • so what actually happens here? does she die in the end or something?

  • LMAO nothing quite so dramatic. She just goes back to work.

  • @msbecky630 Well i dont know! lol

  • It is a really great story. I highly recommend getting the cast recording.

  • No. She just goes on with her life.

  • @TeDdYBoObOo you can guess most of the tony awards by how they end if they end with a hopeful end they win the tony. I know its simplistic but critics love it .

  • @AdamEfimoff or get the critical praise

  • this is a masterclass in acting....just study all of her beats and the storytelling. and even if her voice waivers the story never stops being told

  • Is the lady in the white the lady from Grey's Anatomy?

  • That's her! The lovely/talented Chandra Wilson. And then a year later, Grey's plucked the lovely/talented Sara Ramirez from Broadway and put her on TV too!

  • @ThornNorris yep :]

  • @ThornNorris yup

  • Stunning.

  • So divine! This moves me every time!

  • This was a jaw dropping amazing performance that can't be compared to any other flawless performance just appreciated that we got too see.I am so thankful that I have been able to see such absolute release of talent...

  • she's amazing. compare this to her performance in "Jelly's" where she is hot and sexy. good for her!

  • What is the name of the last song in Caroline or Change?

I really only know of this from the movie Showbusiness: The Road to Broadway, but what I've heard, it seems great, and I really hope that youtube has more of the songs.

  • wat they should have done was give idina best supporting and give best to tonya because wicked is about glinda-lead- telling the story of elphaba

  • because elphaba is on stage most of the time equal to glinda and they share their sceens together except for some...thats why they come out together at the end of the show tonya is good though

  • Thank you sooooo much for posting this- I just keep coming back to this video- she is absolutely amazing.

  • "What else God give me an arm for? SLAM down the iron!"

Fantastic song, and WHAT a performance. She definitely doesn't try to make things pretty.

  • I don't even know this show, but this woman's FANTASTIC performance has inspired me to really check it out.

That's what I call emotional nakedness onstage. Phenomenal.

  • @AtLastOnTheGround It flopped, like most of Tony Cushner's works. I don't know why he's done so badly, he's a genius and all of his work is mind blowing.

  • @ritsfata Tony Kushner I do not think it is the problem. Its the score like Shrek she composed and TMM some people hate it with a passion. I actually love it

  • A friend recommended I view this...wow...I don't even have the words. Just breathtaking. "Turn me to salt"

  • the show has a lot fo songs and i've only listened to like 3 of them and this one is the best!....i love the rage in it:D

was this before or after the tony awards?

  • thats the doc from grey anatomy?!

  • I am still bitter about Idina winning the Tony over her... THIS IS AMAZING. I just dont get it.

  • this song is the most amazing thing i have ever seen when she says scour my skin i like die its sheer perfection

  • Chilling...Next to Heather Headley's Easy as Life this is one of the top 5 best musical performances of the 21st century.

  • add daddy's son by audra mcdonald from ragtime and you have your top three, then "i'm here" from color purple and you have top four

  • It's Dr. Bailey!

  • holy f'ing crap. that was just friggin' amazing.

earth-shattering is the only way I can think to describe it, and even that's an understatement. Bravo, Tonya! Bravo!

  • this show should have lived longer... i was great... like the pirate queen... they were both amazing... and they got ripped off

  • this is just wonderful - til this show i always held that "rose's turn" in Gypsy was the ultimate show song for a woman; but, I think this beatsit.

  • I cannot say thank you enough for posting these videos from Caroline, or Change!!! :D

  • stunning stuff.

  • so emotion so beautiful! I'm crying right now :)

  • i love this so so dearly! thanks for posting!

but.. i'd appreciate tons if you could put scenes of 'Laundry Finish' and 'The Dryer'.

I know it's asking for more, but those two scenes are so lively and bursting with spirit that I would love to see! please?

  • This is really amazing. I wish that I could have seen it live. Pinkins' performance is so emotional, but she still shows her unbounded talent as a singer. The acting doesn't get in the way of the singing, it only enhances it to such an amazing degree.

  • i saw a regional production of this show and was blown away. i can't IMAGINE seeing the broadway production. wow!

  • I saw it the July before it closed. Everybody walked out of the theatre just speechless. You just felt changed. That's the genius of Kushner, not to mention the incredible score and the talent of the cast.

  • That is so true!!...I was speechless after seeing this show on Broadway. It's an incredible piece.

  • wat production is this?????

    any one?

  • The broadway production...

  • this is shattering. I kind of see why it didn't get audiences -- it's almost too overwhelming to watch, the kind of thing you can appreciate as genius without enjoying. she's beyond amazing; I have no words.

  • just a brilliant, heart wrentching performance. i love every bit of it. absoultely amazing

  • I really want this to come back !

  • i love that the nazi from grey's anatomy is on here!!!

  • i absolutely adore idina menzel, but the tony should have gone to tonya pinkins that year.

    this performance is exceptional.

  • Best performance on broadway since Jennifer Hollidays "And I am telling you".

  • I so wish I could have seen this...

  • I saw this live twice. Ms. Pinkins gave one of the best performances ever on Broadway... and look it's Dr. Bailey! lol.

  • Which production is this?

  • the original cast...!! lol..

  • AMAZING!

  • thankyou ! i love this !
