@dadicesare He IS replaced but never forgotten. Much love to Portnoy and all he strives for in the present and future , but, just as you and I have to deal with changes, so does DT. They made the best choice given the circumstances and I will move on WITH them. Life is confusing but fun. I still love DT and Portnoy. This is a win win situation...............

When I first heard Let There Be More Light I played it a total of 11 times! Anyways... well that's it, I suppose... peace....

He's the World's best drummer, and I hope, I really hope, that one day, he will be part of the world's best band again. And I hope, that they will recognize, that their musical power is not the same without him behind the drums, and he himself, that their is no band where he can play that straight from his soul, with all his skill and emotion.
For me, they do the music I ever dreamed about, but without Mike future will be hard stuff...

@dannywizz the thing about that is that he was doing those side projects WHILE he was still in dream theater, so i'm sure he really did have very little time off. and with avenged sevenfold, all he did was play the recording tracks, he didn't take part in writing, so it wasn't very taxing for him.

Music which survives the test of time (rightly or wrongly) comes almost exclusively from music professionals. Anyone can learn a few tricks, form a band and edge into the music business but lets not confuse this with (capital M) Music.
