no you dont have to cut it all off at one time BIG CHOP you can slowly trim off the relaxed ends till there all gone but the relaxed hair will never revert back to curly like ur natural hair but u can TRANSITION from a relaxer to natural hair
now you confused me. I thought 4s were just tighter curls than 3s. I consider myself 4ab. I have very tight curls some can fit around my pinky and some curls are like those coils inside clicking ink-pens with a frizz throughout. Isn't that typical "4" hair type?

I have been natural for 2 years (May 1st) and I have used a lot of transitioning styles to this point, but you and a lot of the other sisters on here have really made the journey easier! You are so knowledgable for a newbie, I appreciate you!

great tips and yeah alot of times people are afraID TO WEAR their hair when its shorter so they wear wigs until its grown out,lol especially if ur hair was ong and u have to cut it really short

yeah your right but im talking bout when your hair grows long and the strands are pulled on from gravity but your right about the typical 4 hair type
