I feel you man. Vicodin is like a miracle for me. If I could I would be on it all the time, but I know that's not a real solution or a good idea. Right now I take some once or twice a week at night after I get off work and I'm making sure not to let it get out of control. It's especially hard when you've got anxiety and depression because it works so beautifully and perfectly for relieving both.
Good for you bro. Ive been on suboxone 8 mg strips, but taking extreme small amount of that strip, pichings off it,made 2 strips last 7 days. Im on day 7 now clean off Hydrocodone/percs etc. I hope tomorrow hwne opiate free it goes alright. I was only taking 5-6 tab 10's a day,but still very emotionally addicted. I needed it socially,I dont get the pain in the stomach,or painful bones, muscle aches when I withdraw, I get Severe Anxiety, depression, unfocusness cant talk to people etc.goodluck
Has anyone else happened to suffer with agitation during withdrawl. That really restless kind of like pacing feeling like you have to do something to make it stop. I'm on day 5 which is almost over but the agitated feeling like I just can't sit through a movie is terrible. Does anyone happen to have felt this or know how long it lasts? I mean this makes it hard to function but I don't want to get on any other meds unless I have to but I will if I have to suffer with this any longer.
I agree with cold turkey once you get your body down to 3 or 4 'tabs' a day. I was taking 16-18 10/500 Lortabs, I weined myself down to 4 per day, then the next day zero. 4 days of hell, days 5-7 were "ok" but felt like shit, days 8-10 I was able to get outside (finally)...by day 20, it was O.V.E.R. Mental cravings came and times, but only lasted 10-15 minutes, they also get shorter in time. Now I only "crave" about once per week for about 5 mins.
woah! how are you even able to smoke a cigarette?? Yuk when i go through w/d smoking makes my nose runny and it drains and makes me gag and dry heave.
I am on day 4 of going cold turkey off 175 mgs methadone, second time of this, last time i went cold turkey off 210mgs. damn methadone clinics. I was off 7 months til i broke my collarbone, nurse insisted i needed vicodin, i told her to eat shit on that. so she screwed me another way and gave me ultram. then after my surgery my bone doc gave me percocet knowing all about my addiction history. two years later here i r again.
weed did nothing to help me it made me more anxious. jittery. i do not recommend marijuana. i detoxed using 3 .5mg's of xanax a day. for the 1st few days.
I tried it, wasn't so tempting. But I guess because I'd heard it was addictive, I knew that I would be better off not further experimenting (I did take it for pain though, but not prescribed).
its never over man, once you actually become an addict its a life-long fight to try and stay off drugs, the temptations will be there everyday, actually getting off the drug is the easy part compared to living clean the rest of your life. resisting the drug when its handed to you
How is it these people taking 15-30 pills a day are not sustaining any severe liver damage? That acetaminophen is bad shit. People with HEALTHY liver function cannot have more than 4g a day...don't get me wrong, I'm glad these people are ok..but How?!! Moderation. Oh, and Good job poster. =)
You pose an extremely interesting question. The truth is, these people are doing severe damage to their liver but it is all internally at this point. Soon, it becomes external (being vomiting, headache, sharp pains) and they go to the ER and realize they have cirrhosis.
@dalmatica78 lortabs are soo hard on your liver, the acetaminophen, theres not anything to say that these people still wont get liver disease in the future. Most likely the damage done to the liver will show up over the long-term. Atleast oxycontin doesnt have a ton of tylenol
I'm proud of you brother, keep remembering the things you could have lost forever, family, friends, or your life. You seem like a good dude, never get down on yourself and try to make it up to anyone you screwed over. Peace to you man.
norcos somas and redbulls lol naw dont wanna know what i spent and how bad my habit was been 7 or 8 days now for me 2 man cold turkey i smoke some bud 2 help but yea goodluck man
Cold turkey is the way to go, ive been clean for 3 months now, it gets into your fat tissue so i go on 2 hour bike ride everyday to sweat it out helps alot plus i feel better after the bike ride, STAY away from methadone its not a cure its worse then Oxys its just traden 1 withdrawl for another thats even worse
I smoked weed it helps take the edge off but doesnt make you ambitious, after a couple weeks i started takeing excedrin which helped alot i actully felt a little high, off it
@cptk3rk You don't sweat out Vicodin, detox isn't about getting toxins out of your body, its a big misconception. Its about reregulating the endogenous opioid system, your body stops producing its own opioids when you use, so when u stop theres none at all. Excercising does help jumpstart opioid production though, thats what runners high is. Its not placebo, it really does shorten WD time, but its the LAST thing you want to do...
weed dont do shit if oyu think it does you never had a real addiction to oppiates it help a very very little bit I have tried..and I love weed. but I dont think about weed when I am withdrawing from pills.
lol hard addiction? fucking vicodin and lortabs are nothing man, im talking about H and fuckin oxycontin 80mgs, trust me i know my fair share about opiate withdrawl and weed definently helps
@6Ott7 you still get the shits from the withdrawls but with weed it helped me from being so jittery, id say it helps about a 6, i have takin subutex also but there also hard to get off of. its really dangerous to quit cold turkey if your using hard drugs and iv'ing. if your not careful you can become an alcholic while trying to quit doing opiates. its real easy to substitute one addiction for another.
I was on norcos 5 a day and morphine 30mg 3 times a day quite cold turkey. day 2 had to go to the hospital they keep me 2 days. its be 1 month clean and i love my new life..it took 3 weeks to start feeling better never going though that again...STAY OFF PAIN PILLS
I was on vics, percs, oxy, for a year STRAIGHT every day no joke and i quit cold turkey the withdrawels SUCKED but give it 2-3 days and youll feel fine you just gotta make it over that hill. if youre using now be careful, if you quit keep it up the addiction will ALWAYS be there.
I started on the 500's regular vics and now im upto the es750s i take about 10+ a day..I am so afraid of the withdrawl that i cant quit...its scary the same time feels good to be on it..HELP!!
If you havent been doing them long the withdrawal wont be that bad. I was taking 20-30 a day for 3 years and I strongly recommend you quit before you get to that point... dont ever EVER mess with Oxy... it makes Vicodin seem like childrens aspirin.
Unfortunately (and I mean that!) I was able to find a lot of people willing to sell their scripts.... 3 years ago I thought it was luck, it turned into a curse. Be careful friend; it may take a while but you will become addicted. Dont ever mess with Oxy- trust me on that one!
I can't seem to make it past 3 full days. I get to day 4 and I can't help myself. And I always say i'm gonna taper myself off but that never happens. Right now I have 20 left... I should start the taper but I'm so stupid that I will just take em like usual till the're gone.Fuck.
major props bra...you are a strong man. been on opioids(roxi and norco) 6 years and at least im at the point now where i am wanting to quit cuz i hate the rollercoaster and for me that is a giant leap.
If you do quit any opiate or opioid cold turkey you can get this stuff called Clonidine which keeps the blood pressure down and will keep the shivers and sweats away.
I totally understand what you mean....most people get hooked on vicodin because of an injury, and we don't think we are addicted cuz...hey, our doctor gave us the script! I was there, and quit cold turkey off a 25-30 a DAY norco habit. It all started 2 years ago, for fibromyalgia. I didn't want to believe I was addicted...but I knew I was. I quit COLD TURKEY, and the first 4 days were HELL...but after that, it got better and better. Good luck to anyone that is trying to get off.
