I like how little damage a sword to the face seems to do. Maybe they're all secretly using Nerf swords. The shurikens also seem to hurt as much as throwing a super ball at someone. The best part though is when Ryu slaughters people who are surrendering. Maybe the whole game is really supposed to be a commentary on Japanese militarism in the lead up to World War II.

It's so nice that the boss is designed in such a way that I don't have to think about it.

Just hit the big orange glowy lights until a cutscene shows me the next big orange glowy light I have to hit. Oh, and just in case I didn't get it, there's a voice over lady telling me to hit the big orange glowy lights.

Also...dragon was cool once. Second time it felt a bit samey. Third tme I was already bored of it.

@Lazar3451 They're making Ryu a "Japanese Dark Hero", Ryu's a ninja and he's been killing people like this for his whole life, it's not really new. Like how Kratos kills defenseless people begging for their lives and GoW is still a fun game. Kratos even kills civilians like Posiden's slave girl, the guy Ryu killed was a terrorist. It's what anti heroes do, they kill people and don't think twice about it, only in NG3 they want to make you feel remorseful and guilty about it.

Take the key from the old man and kill him in hydra stage to advance because he blocks you way, then the part where you burn the guy in the cage to solve a puzzle, and that slave girl mention earlier, you need to crush her to open a gate. In Ghost of Sparta where you dump a stone as a step but it block to a guy from escaping fire. Not mention killing all of Atlantis.

Ryu killed a terrorist, Kratos killed many civilians.

@Lazar3451 Also the guys Ryu's killing are terrorist, earlier they killed a bunch of civilians, and later they kill hostages, British Prime Minister and blow up London. Though I agree, it's disturbing we have kill a guy who's just trying to feed his kid and there's no way around. But it's like GoW, where you had to kill innocent people to solve puzzels and there's no way around it. Personally I rather Team Ninja not turn Ryu into an anti hero like Kratos, but I'll still play it like I play GoW.

It's because they can't be turned off. They're implemented within the NG3 engine, so the game is going to slow down into "QTE mode" no matter what wherever it's programmed to do so. That's going to be rather often enough to disjoint the smoothness that a combat system like NG series is trademarked with. :/

No, they CAN"T be disabled.

You can only turn off the button prompts. The screen coming to a literal standstill while you press the "correct" button to make mini cutscene move forward is still applicable, with or without the prompts being on screen. The QTE pauses are littered throughout every bit of NG3's footage.

QTE's are in this game to stay.
