I see some people here (strangely high voted ones aswell) complaining about the Norwegian government which, judging from these statements alone, only wish to harm the environment in Norway.
This, of course, is total and utter nonsense, and these people are part of a movement whose only aim is to complain and moan about every desicion that is made. If anyone are really interested in the topic they are discussing, I encourage you to check out the facts and not to trust internet trolls like these.
The nature in Norway is under constant threath by our politicians who instead of building windmills at sea build them on land in one of the most important migratory routes of birds along the coast of western Norway, killing not only mirgratory birds but endangered eagles, imagine entering a forrest of windmills at the entrance of the fjords and on the islands. They will build huge powerlines in Hardangerfjorden and Hjørundfjorden that will kill an endangered owl and ruin our sunsets and fjords.
@Vegetablesaregood You might think that now but if you were to move away from your country for a longer while, you would probably start missing it and appreciating the norwegian landscape more than you do now.
And this is not something I say as some random person. I am a norwegian myself and I'm currently studying abroad and I sure started appreciating the norwegian nature more. If I hadn't studied abroad I would probably think the same as you ;-)
While you are at it, could you also protest against the giant bridge that is planned across "hardanger fjorden", do not see much protest against that...
@sam0xin do you mean to say, that your never been to a fjord before :O
thats almost a little bit facinating ^^
but if your going to visit Norway at a fjord, I recommand, Trollfjorden, Hardangerfjorden, or maybe Lofotfjorden if your out for some real dried cod smell experiaces :D
@sillychad18 dude, dont worry ;) i've paddled a fjord, and it is very cold water because ofthe melting gaciers, but taste little salty, the only animal i saw was a King Eagle ^^
@sillychad18 It's colder than your average vacation spot obviously but in August/September, the water on the coast up in the north can get up to 14-15 degrees celcius on a normal summer and that's doable to swim in for most people :)
@sillychad18 There have been very few attacks on humans by (wild) killer whales, they mostly go after sea lions, seals and fish, and none of the human attacks were fatal, but if it's recent I'm not sure.:p
@Lompebroed In Norway we have 3 species of shark, Håkjerring, Håbrann (almost same specie, only a matter of length difference) and Brudge, the two first eat fish and gets up to 2 and 1.2-1.3 meters long. Brudge is the second largest fish in the ocean and can get up to 8 meters, almost as big as the whaleshark.
@Epicaq True, but the biggest of them, brugda, just eat plankton. Plus, there have never been conflicts between humans and håbrann, håkjerring or pigghå either, so if it's true that the killer whale has killed anyone it's something to be impressed about.
My homeland Croatia is in my heart forever and I love her above all, but I really admire this enchanted, beautiful country, its culture, its people, its language. Være stolte, nordmenn!
@haarstad88 Ja men dette er ikke en av dem, 0:00 to 0:25, This is Aurlandfjorden in Sogn & Fjordane Western Norway not northern norway. Vestlandet har den fineste naturen med nord-norge på andre plass.
