Zero Mission is what got me to play Metroid-games.

Just saying: I can't do anything for the fact that I wasn't born in 80's. I heard this version first, and even though not as "originally creepy" as the NES version, it's the one I'm most familiar with.

Remakes aren't made just to appeal the old fans, they are very good opportunities get some new fans try out the series.

Now that I've experienced them... Old Metroid-games were creepy. But very awesome.

Ah, nostalgia fan boys. Boy do I love them, they can never accept that their cherished original versions can on some level be inferior to newer renditions, such as Kraid's theme in Zero Mission. The music in Fusion and Zero Mission is leaps and bounds above that of the original Metroid just as the Prime series's score is superior to Zero and Fusions, is it just because newer, better technology is available to make the songs better? No, sometimes it's okay for the remakes to be better.

@Jarrecko on some level I suppose so... I prefer the original version in-game because at that point in the game you're going into uncharted areas, and wandering around in mazes. The soundtrack is creepy, and it does exactly what its supposed to. For listening, I think I like this version, though the Gameboy sound chip is grating. I would prefer this version done with better quality sound. Still though, the original was excellent for its simplicity.
