No we are not nuts at all. I really don't see what is so brave about walking in a city and taking photos - many people do it. You have every chance of being mugged in London as you do in Joburg. We felt perfectly safe in Joburg, and were actually safer than in other parts of the city given the large presence of security guards and CCTV cameras.

are you guys nuts???? You were very brave to do that. Johannesburg is safer than it use to be but you still have to be very careful.

Just be careful, make sure that the camera isn't stolen by someone. That's is obvious bait.
Anyway, Johannesburg is such a beautiful city with beautiful people(despite the crime).
