@mightysteelzipper yes any horse can do run a pattern but a Quarter horse's comformation it much better suited for this. Say if you put a Draft horse in 30days of barrel training and a Quarter horse in 30days of barrel training to the QH will have a better time than the draft. and plus it is harder to keep balance on your horse in an english saddle than a western barrel saddle. Anyway if you continue to barrel race your TB he may get arthitis cause The breed is built to run straight in instead.
@brandybo101 actually, i have both a quarter horse/appy cross and a TB mare and my mare is much more "cattier" then my qh gelding. Any horse can barrel race, it's just teaching them how
