The main reason why I think 120 gigabyte HDD is unnessesary is because games only use about 1-20 MB of data. The only time you would use the memory is from downloading tons of massive demos on Xbox Live.

I doubt that the XBOX 360 will receive Blu-Ray Playback. Microsoft will not support Blu-Ray because if they do, they will be supporting a company the compete with. The PS3 is the best one to go for however the 360 does have many exclusive games. Its probably better to have both.

Get the 360, you have Gears 2, COD world at war and Halo wars coming out. 360 has a bigger lineup of games and also has a bigger online community base.

Every other game he gets such as COD 4, GTA 4 etc he gets for the 360 as well as the 360 exclusives and he plays those a lot more than the PS3. I rather have the ability to talk while playing online with a headset that is given to me by the console company.

If you still have the drive then I would recommend getting the arcade. The Arcade's price is scheduled to drop from 279.99 to 199.99 on september 7th. If you want you can get the 20 GB if you want the accessories in it, but I would recommend getting the Arcade.

Yeah, thats a problem with the older models, the newer models manufactured after 7/07 don't have that problem since they use the newer 65nm processors.
I got my Elite on release date so it does not have the newer processor. It has however the new Zepher motherboard layout which disperses heat much more efficiently than the old motherboard.
ps3 doesnt inlude it because ps3 has HDMI 1.3 where as 360 only has HDMI 1.2, not allowing it to go to true HD 1080p like the ps3 can. That being said, it still does look fantastic and i love my 360 and ps3, but my 360 a little more right now! XD (i have the halo 3 special edition)

Same here, the PS3 has more potential than the 360, the thing is that developers are taking so long to utilize all six cells. 1 cell is used strictly for the system OS so in total the PS3 has seven cells, note that cells are not processors cores. The function like processors but they are not processor cores.
PS3 cant use it processor to the fullest on 256mb ram it can barly run LINUX. and 128bit bandwith on the wii,x360 & ps3 is still only 128bits all you see on you HD tv is shaders wow'ing you.

I like how serious people get, on the whole ps3 vs 360 debate, truth is that there is very little between them, the ps3 is more powerful and has the advantage of blu ray however there arent any games that will take full advantage of the increased potential, and in spite of the fact that it has a faster processor that really makes no difference as there arent any games out yet that are so demanding that you'd notice any difference between the two consoles

So why don't you check out PSN specs, its not even a dedicated network compared to Xbox Live. My friend has both the consoles and only plays MGS 4 and Resistance online on the PS3 cause those are the only games worth playing online. Every other game he gets such as COD 4, GTA 4 etc he gets for the 360 as well as the 360 exclusives and he plays those a lot more than the PS3. I rather have the ability to talk while playing online with a headset that is given to me by the console company.

80gb playstasion have :4usb, wlan, flash card reader, 1gb bit ethernet, blue ray player++++. xbox have a long list of don`t have.... it eats cds/dvd, not reliabel, and sound make you mad.. ps2 slim is a better by for your money.

Check out the PS3fanboy blog online, that version of the PS3 has been discontinued for a while, a new 80 GB version is coming out with ONLY TWO USB PORTS, no memory card slots and no PS2 backward compatibility. That pretty much sets the PS3 under the 360 with the exception of wi-fi and bluray.

no. almost all xbox games are 720p. up scaled to 1080p in your xbox.. yes component cabel only suports 720p. playstation was fucking expensive. and why by hd def console when you can`t use it like a blue-ray player? playstation have that and wlan.. so now xbox are fuckin expensive.. hd-dvd RIP..

Lol, almost all the 360 games are 1080p, look at the back of the boxes, almost all of them have HDMI ports, Even if you have to pay the 360 has more people paying for the service and playing online than the PS3 which is sad considering that the PS3's online gaming is free and most of the people playing the PS3 are little kids who don't need internet so go figure. Biggest collection of online movies and tv shows are on Xbox Live, largest selection of games are for the 360.

If you still have the drive then I would recommend getting the arcade. The Arcade's price is scheduled to drop from 279.99 to 199.99 on september 7th. If you want you can get the 20 GB if you want the accessories in it, but I would recommend getting the Arcade.

I got my Elite on release date so it does not have the newer processor. It has however the new Zepher motherboard layout which disperses heat much more efficiently than the old motherboard.

ps3 doesnt inlude it because ps3 has HDMI 1.3 where as 360 only has HDMI 1.2, not allowing it to go to true HD 1080p like the ps3 can. That being said, it still does look fantastic and i love my 360 and ps3, but my 360 a little more right now! XD (i have the halo 3 special edition)

High Definition Multimedia Interface. It is a new type of video port which can send out the maximum high definition video signal to any TV which also has an HDMI port. Also it transmits audio and video all through one cable so it is pretty neat.

ive got an elite and its alot better than the 360 because a) it doesnt overheat as fast and the hdmi output is less complicated. on the 360 to have hd u have to have that big scart lead with like 6 different wires but on the elite its a small plug alot like the power lead which goes into your hdmi output on your hd tv.

the ps3 surely has more potential than the 360, better looking, built in blue-ray compatibility, built in wifi, sixaxis controller, less noise than 360, and not really any overheating.plus for those that are unhappy with the lack of vibration on the six-axis controller, i believe that it's nyko that is releasing one with vibration soon, and further sony will be releasing one. i enjoy my 360, and i have a wii which i love!Plus, i think that these ps3 vs 360 wars are pointless!

Same here, the PS3 has more potential than the 360, the thing is that developers are taking so long to utilize all six cells. 1 cell is used strictly for the system OS so in total the PS3 has seven cells, note that cells are not processors cores. The function like processors but they are not processor cores.

there are not six cells. There is one cell processor and it contains 8 SPE's!! Not whole other processors, just spes. That stands for Synergestic Processing Engines. They allow for more processing power and more decrease workloads for the main processor. U can run physics on one,shading and lighting and all the visual on another,AI on another,etc. The processor is the one that orginizes and does the most work

I like how serious people get, on the whole ps3 vs 360 debate, truth is that there is very little between them, the ps3 is more powerful and has the advantage of blu ray however there arent any games that will take full advantage of the increased potential, and in spite of the fact that it has a faster processor that really makes no difference as there arent any games out yet that are so demanding that you'd notice any difference between the two consoles
