I think the producers have something to do with how the judges decide. If there had been no winner-take-all joke of a dance, Ralph would have been in the finals. No offense, but they wanted to make sure Chelsea got definite shot at winning.
Ralph and Karina were pretty mad when they lost. They didn't want to have a little interview in the finale results.
Please no Derek, no Mark season 13. Julianne is okay, she's not as "upstagy" as them.
As a fan of the other pros, I see no point in watching next season if Derek or Mark are back. It's obvious that no one but them will win when they're around. Their own popularity is too high that it doesn't matter who they're paired with, and the judges lap up anything they do while pointing out minor flaws with others. I really hope Hines takes it tomorrow, but given that Chelsea's the Disney (owns ABC) girl, that they're trying to appeal to the young demo, and for Mark to match Derek's wins
Team Kanenball deserved it fair and square. They deserve the mirrorball along with it. They're simply the best dancers there by far. Learn to accept it and stop arguing.
@CarrieUnderwdfan It's everyone's opinion, so it's not a fact they deserved to win. If Kirstie, Ralph, or Hines has been given the golden ticket into the finals, Mark's fans would be saying the same thing we are. Look around at any website that allows an opinion besides liking Mark, and the majority agree the WTA should have been scrapped, and they should have left it up to the fans. Hopefully they don't meddle in the finals just so Mark can have as many trophies as Derek.
@karalott19 I have to admit I'm wrong about that. But the thing is, I agree with the choice of doing the extra fifteen points. Chelsea's not close to being the most popular star there, but she has had very consistent dancing. It simply wouldn't be fair if she only got eliminated because of popularity. It's my opinion, but the judges didn't just choose Chelsea/Mark to win because of their lack of popularity. If you look at their choreography, they changed it up and Chelsea nailed every move.
@CarrieUnderwdfan The thing is, this show (along with the rest in the genre) are popularity contests. Tom and Brooke always say vote for your favorite, and even if they said 'vote for the best', it still doesn't mean people would agree that was Chelsea or not vote for their favorite anyway. I think Mark has turned a lot of people off. On the flip side, I question whether Chelsea would have as much popularity if she wasn't paired with Mark. It goes both ways.
@karalott19 Chelsea's popularity may been lower or higher without Mark as her partner, however it wouldn't be the same experience. Imo, Chelsea and Mark have the best chemistry this season. At the end of the day, it's about who's the best dancer. The most consistent couples have been Chelsea/Mark & Hines/Kym. I'm rooting for Chelsea/Marks, but would have no problem if Hines were to win because he's a good dancer too. I just don't want the highest scored couple to lose in the end.
@CarrieUnderwdfan If Mark wins I think the show will face backlash. He's alienated a lot of people this season, and Chelsea was right to confront him on it. It is supposed to be about her, not him, but for better or worse, I think the pro is often figured into the equation of votes. We'll never know if Chelsea would have been better off with a different partner. Anyway, 7 seasons of seeing the Hough/Ballas trio win makes me hope another pro takes it. And that Mark won't be back next time.

Chelsea is the best dancer in this competition and frankly its not even close. In fact she is the best celebrity dancer in the history of DWTS. She looks like one of THE PROS out there. She reminds me of Cyd Charisse. She is that extraordinary.

@lalahaley08 It is the worst twist ever...and where was it last season when they could have used it to get rid of Bristol? Judging from Carrie Ann's twitter, not to mention a lot of comments online, it didn't seem to go over so well. If the judges were more consistant with their scores and actually gave constructive critiques, maybe there wouldn't be such an uproar when a worse dancer lasts longer than they should, or someone gets handed a finals spot by getting too big of an advantage.
what i think is hines is a pretty good dancer and he is usually great, but i dont think tonight he brought all he could into this dance .. because it just didnt look as great as it could . but chelsea, she did so good, she really brought everything she could . they both were great !
To be hines isn't a GREAT dancer, though kim is awesome, if you watched this, his dance moves, basically anyone could do them, he's average to me. But chelsea on the other hand is AMAZING, she should've done dancing a long time to go , i bet she would of been a pro by now.

It always makes me laugh to read comments from these ballroom dance "experts" who rag on one couple or another for getting too high of scores or not enough or whatever...
I think that Hines and Kym should have won--the judges basically decided that either Hines or Kym will win, and Chelsea doesnt have the same fan base as the rest of the contestants that are left, so they gave her the points to keep her in the competition...
@josh07698 I do understand that. I just don't think Hines and Kim are as impressive as the judges make them out to be. I enjoyed his dances in the beginning of the competition but as the show progressed, I felt that others improved a lot more whereas he hasn't really improve. He's "good" but definitely not close to perfect.
Chelsea and Mark are A LOT better than Hines and Kym. I don't understand how Hines received two perfect scores last night when his dances weren't even better than Kristie. He has been over-scored the past few weeks whereas Chelsea and Mark have not received enough credit. I am glad that Chelsea and Mark won this; however it seems like Hines will win in the end which is very unfortunate.

Hines and Kym's cha cha was a not original -.- they did the same thing they did the first time. While I do think he's a good dancer he just needs more flare. His salsa had all of that but this cha cha didn't. BESIDES, I love Chelsea and Mark and want them to win.. But I'm also realistic and know Hines will most likely win due to his fanbase.. Those who say that Hines/Kym's Cha-Cha was better, well I'm sorry but three professional judges voted against you. Chelsea and Mark, FOR SURE, deserved it. They're unique and bring a different feel to the floor yet are always on spot with their technique. Chelsea had always looked like a professional, in my opinion.
Also, I LOVE this idea. It allows the better dances to have a much higher chance to make it through to the finals - much more deserving than fan votes themselves.

With all due respect to the viewers who "think" that Hines isn't a "good dancer." In ballroom the man is supposed to be THE FRAME so the woman can be THE PICTURE. The reason the women celebrities seem to "dance" better is because their Pro Partners are doing their job and, frankly, all the work! As a former competitive ballroom dancer, imo, the woman is only as good as her partner...So, if Kym looks so Stunning...guess why? And, he's just a football player for heaven's sake!!!
I hate this whole "winner takes all" part. It just skews the competition. For those couples at the bottom of the leader board with the least number of points, it just makes them even further away from the ones at the top. It puts them at a severe disadvantage. Until NOW I appreciated this season because everyone was more or less at an even level, unlike previous seasons when they had contestants with obvious dance training and none of the other couples ever came close -- what a boring competion!
@willytr3 I like Hines and I respect your opinion. But how the hell is that a fact? Chelsea's been told numerous times that she looks like a professional dancer. A month or two from now, she probably would be if she continued. The judges all voted for Chelsea/Mark both rounds of the Instant Cha-Cha challenge. Chris Jericho has said on Twitter that Chelsea's by far the best celebrity dancer this season while Donny Osmond, a former winner, has said that she always nails it.

Hines and Kym are a Gourmet Meal as opposed to Chelsea and Mark who are fast food. She's good to be sure, but I personally prefer to chew my food slowly and savor it as opposed to gulp it all down then rushing off to the next thing. (I often feel that C and M's dancing is forced down my throat...no thanks!) There is a man in the crowd who is constantly yelling, "Ye-ah!" during Hines and Kym's performances tonight...I'M WITH HIM!!!

Hines is smoother & more natural than Chelsea (although she's quite good). I agree with the judges comments, but I prefer smooth over crisp so IMO, his dance was better. He's my favorite by a mile. Go Hines!

@CarrieUnderwdfan It's everyone's opinion, so it's not a fact they deserved to win. If Kirstie, Ralph, or Hines has been given the golden ticket into the finals, Mark's fans would be saying the same thing we are. Look around at any website that allows an opinion besides liking Mark, and the majority agree the WTA should have been scrapped, and they should have left it up to the fans. Hopefully they don't meddle in the finals just so Mark can have as many trophies as Derek.

@karalott19 I have to admit I'm wrong about that. But the thing is, I agree with the choice of doing the extra fifteen points. Chelsea's not close to being the most popular star there, but she has had very consistent dancing. It simply wouldn't be fair if she only got eliminated because of popularity. It's my opinion, but the judges didn't just choose Chelsea/Mark to win because of their lack of popularity. If you look at their choreography, they changed it up and Chelsea nailed every move.

@CarrieUnderwdfan The thing is, this show (along with the rest in the genre) are popularity contests. Tom and Brooke always say vote for your favorite, and even if they said 'vote for the best', it still doesn't mean people would agree that was Chelsea or not vote for their favorite anyway. I think Mark has turned a lot of people off. On the flip side, I question whether Chelsea would have as much popularity if she wasn't paired with Mark. It goes both ways.

@karalott19 Chelsea's popularity may been lower or higher without Mark as her partner, however it wouldn't be the same experience. Imo, Chelsea and Mark have the best chemistry this season. At the end of the day, it's about who's the best dancer. The most consistent couples have been Chelsea/Mark & Hines/Kym. I'm rooting for Chelsea/Marks, but would have no problem if Hines were to win because he's a good dancer too. I just don't want the highest scored couple to lose in the end.

@CarrieUnderwdfan If Mark wins I think the show will face backlash. He's alienated a lot of people this season, and Chelsea was right to confront him on it. It is supposed to be about her, not him, but for better or worse, I think the pro is often figured into the equation of votes. We'll never know if Chelsea would have been better off with a different partner. Anyway, 7 seasons of seeing the Hough/Ballas trio win makes me hope another pro takes it. And that Mark won't be back next time.

@TheDudeSeanN It'll be the worst outcome if she and Mark win. And this season started off so enjoyable. I'll never figure out why the producers think they know better than the viewers. They need to stop insulting their audience. The playing field was even this season, there were no Bristol's left in the final 4. They should have scrapped the WTA and just let the fans vote without over-scoring. If it meant Chelsea went, it meant she went. What are they going to do, pad the final scores?

She may look like a pro dancer, hell yes she does, but she isn't. I'm disappointed with this season. Where's the dance marathon? And the double-score showdown? I kinda get why they didn't do the marathon, considering the older cast this season, so it probably would have killed half of them, but I liked double scores week. I hated this, 15 bonus points? seriously?

It's not just about popularity, it's a DANCE show. People need to learn to vote for the better dancer. In my opinion, Hines has been good, but he hasn't improved. Whereas Chelsea looks like a professional out there. You guys do know that Chelsea forgot all the dance steps to the Cha-cha during dress rehearsal, right? Look how flawlessly she danced, live. Chelsea and Mark deserve it!

@lalahaley08 It is the worst twist ever...and where was it last season when they could have used it to get rid of Bristol? Judging from Carrie Ann's twitter, not to mention a lot of comments online, it didn't seem to go over so well. If the judges were more consistant with their scores and actually gave constructive critiques, maybe there wouldn't be such an uproar when a worse dancer lasts longer than they should, or someone gets handed a finals spot by getting too big of an advantage.

I think that Hines and Kym should have won--the judges basically decided that either Hines or Kym will win, and Chelsea doesnt have the same fan base as the rest of the contestants that are left, so they gave her the points to keep her in the competition...

@josh07698 I do understand that. I just don't think Hines and Kim are as impressive as the judges make them out to be. I enjoyed his dances in the beginning of the competition but as the show progressed, I felt that others improved a lot more whereas he hasn't really improve. He's "good" but definitely not close to perfect.

Chelsea and Mark are A LOT better than Hines and Kym. I don't understand how Hines received two perfect scores last night when his dances weren't even better than Kristie. He has been over-scored the past few weeks whereas Chelsea and Mark have not received enough credit. I am glad that Chelsea and Mark won this; however it seems like Hines will win in the end which is very unfortunate.

Hines and Kym's cha cha was a not original -.- they did the same thing they did the first time. While I do think he's a good dancer he just needs more flare. His salsa had all of that but this cha cha didn't. BESIDES, I love Chelsea and Mark and want them to win.. But I'm also realistic and know Hines will most likely win due to his fanbase.. So he didn't really need those 15 points.

Those who say that Hines/Kym's Cha-Cha was better, well I'm sorry but three professional judges voted against you. Chelsea and Mark, FOR SURE, deserved it. They're unique and bring a different feel to the floor yet are always on spot with their technique. Chelsea had always looked like a professional, in my opinion.
Also, I LOVE this idea. It allows the better dances to have a much higher chance to make it through to the finals - much more deserving than fan votes themselves.

With all due respect to the viewers who "think" that Hines isn't a "good dancer." In ballroom the man is supposed to be THE FRAME so the woman can be THE PICTURE. The reason the women celebrities seem to "dance" better is because their Pro Partners are doing their job and, frankly, all the work! As a former competitive ballroom dancer, imo, the woman is only as good as her partner...So, if Kym looks so Stunning...guess why? And, he's just a football player for heaven's sake!!!

I hate this whole "winner takes all" part. It just skews the competition. For those couples at the bottom of the leader board with the least number of points, it just makes them even further away from the ones at the top. It puts them at a severe disadvantage. Until NOW I appreciated this season because everyone was more or less at an even level, unlike previous seasons when they had contestants with obvious dance training and none of the other couples ever came close -- what a boring competion!

@willytr3 I like Hines and I respect your opinion. But how the hell is that a fact? Chelsea's been told numerous times that she looks like a professional dancer. A month or two from now, she probably would be if she continued. The judges all voted for Chelsea/Mark both rounds of the Instant Cha-Cha challenge. Chris Jericho has said on Twitter that Chelsea's by far the best celebrity dancer this season while Donny Osmond, a former winner, has said that she always nails it.

Hines and Kym are a Gourmet Meal as opposed to Chelsea and Mark who are fast food. She's good to be sure, but I personally prefer to chew my food slowly and savor it as opposed to gulp it all down then rushing off to the next thing. (I often feel that C and M's dancing is forced down my throat...no thanks!) There is a man in the crowd who is constantly yelling, "Ye-ah!" during Hines and Kym's performances tonight...I'M WITH HIM!!!

Hines is smoother & more natural than Chelsea (although she's quite good). I agree with the judges comments, but I prefer smooth over crisp so IMO, his dance was better. He's my favorite by a mile. Go Hines!
