Love this vid. I've been to Paris 3x - the first time I went on a tour (never again) and we drag raced around the Arc in a tour bus (full of drunk people) dancing to the Macarena (hate that song). ROFL!
Absolutely fascinating... I like it. Deprive road users of lights, clear lanes and give way rules. That way they are forced to use common sense. This video seems to be an exception. Most others I have viewed show it trundling along fairly well.
Go the French people, and their most interesting roundabout! :D

One Easter break, back in the 70's, 6 lads and myself crammed into Jocks old BMW, and left the Army Barracks in Lippstadt, Germany, for Gay Paris! When we got there it was early morn. We drove around the city, & the BMW must of been rammed like a dodgem f-----g 5 times! Mad drivers, give way! WTF! Poor Jock's face when he saw his pride n joy dented like it had made friends with an exocet. Funny as f--k! Jock drove back to Germany with a girl from the States that we met, & left us behind! Bastard
Paris is a very old city which was established centuries before cars were invented. Like most of French cities. This said, on the main roads, and high speed highways, modern traffic standards are at the top. The French freeway network is the longest in western Europe.
This place is an exception. Like a tourist show. Traffic in most of Paris highways is as good, if not better, than in any other big world cities. A lot of Anglosaxons are really a bunch of dumb pricks.
Not quite so, I've just visited Paris and seen at least half a dozen places where the traffic had to be regulated by the police and even then drivers just could not make it. Also, traffic light don't seem to mean anything as pedestrians get green but cars turning left/right seem to think they have precedence and happily run over people.
The driving in paris is horrible, the streets are tiny and drivers don't respect any rules, everyone wants to go as fast as they can (so do i). Just look at the bus, everything is stuck, he could let some car passed and everything would be clear, but no...
Paris traffic has nothing to envy to bangladesh traffic :d
If anything Brussels should focus their legislation on unifying European Traffic Management in line with the UK's Highway Code. To think France is a technological advance country they would have install traffic lights to manage the traffic by now. This is crazy!
Its a giant traffic circle, with, I think, 12 different roads, including the Champs Elysee, going into it. It's insane watching people drive around it.
Because buses drivers in Paris always think that's they are the king of roads ! And in this case people who are on the place must give the priority for the cars which arrives on the right. But it's always crowd here ! French resident
wow that must have taken about 5 hours to clear. lol. oh and traffic circles are only suppose to support up to 7,000 cars per hour. it's about 30,000 where that is, or it would look like per hour. No wonder it's a mess.
Ehh... no. Todo porque es una rotonda gigantesca en la que confluyen 12 avenidas y tiene un montón de carriles sin líneas blancas pintadas en la calzada. La ciudad en sí no tiene forma de espiral ni nada parecido.
booradley4000ad: Good luck synchronizing lights to 12 avenues that converge here, including the 8 lane Champs Elysées which acts as a main feeder in/out of the Paris ring road and the freeways which then depart from there in all directions . Keep in mind this was finalized (previous phases go back as early as 1600's) in the 1800's, prior to the large-scale production of the automobile. This was designed to be mostly grandiose and only practical for horse carriages at most. Or is it possible?
