Does anybody know what bass he used at the studio track on true colours ? At that time he was mostly playing on a JayDee but sometimes he was also playing on a Status before Alembic crosses his way. At that time it seems to me that mark king was looking for a new sound. He succeeded, especially on this track true believers. It is also a great bass line, a perfect combination between fingerstyle and slapping. Great to hear this on stage with my favourite bass guitar. Alembic rules.

I actually sold my long scale MK Sign DLX. The body just didn't fit me well. Beautiful instrument, great sound too; but I prefer to play my Status Empathy, my Carvins and jazz bass.
Mark King is badass regarding his ability to play monster lines, sing well and chew gum.

My absolute favourite Level 42 track - perhaps because Mark's playing is quite different to his usual slapping and popping (apart from the solo).

I always liked how Mark's Alembic basses sounded like a combination of his JayDee and Status basses - sort of the best of both worlds.
