@FruitsBasketCast No, that is terrible. The notion that god would take away a person's limb in order to teach her a lesson is absolutely reprehensible. Applying that logic, babies born with genetic deformities or children who have get cancer are being taught a lesson by god. God is a ridiculous concept that was made by primitive humans as a primitive means of explaining existence and the universe. Thankfully, we have unbiased, mechanical science to dispel us of superstion today
@pacifiedfools well i didn't mean it like that, and i agree, God and religion isn't my cup of tea, but what i meant was, everybody as he said has a purpose for being here, and she says that "god" showed her to not give up hope even though she lost a limb. that's how i see it anyway. Now don't get me wrong, the fact of doing something like that can be seen as a cures over a blessing, and in many cases it is, but somebody has to be the one to stand out and make a difference.
God is omnipotent and knows our future...depending on how we react to our problems and obstacles..He promises that "All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His Spirit". He never causes evil to happen, rather knows when it will. One day..soon..He will wipe every tear and fully restore us (dead and alive) in body, mind and Spirit. Bethany and Nick are examples of that truth. They embrace His power and have become Super conquerors! You are beautiful
There's a part in a Bible, where people walked with the Lord Jesus and they saw a blind man sitting on the street. People asked the Lord "Why is this man blind? Whose fault is it? Did his parents' sins make him so?" the Lord answered "No, G.d made him be blind, so he can heal him and make him see" ... G.d just wants to heal the people..
@marianburroughs eventough bethany has lost her arm, she is gratefull to be alive and God uses her to tell all the people throughout the world eventough she only had one arm she still can do surfing and become a pro surfer. God works in misterious ways that human being can't think of.

this guy is a huge inspiration for me. i'm reading his book, and i'm like 'how can i say that my life is bad, and my problems limit me'
that wonderful guy has no arms and no legs and he lives with BIG smile, and a lot of hope and happiness, that i feel so immature and stupid.
it's a blessing for me.
