  • eyebrow seizure

  • Why Penn (is it welsh or breton?)

  • interesting

  • this is very unique! i like it!

  • why is everybody laughing in the beginning?

  • @luckyslimester Because they are disrespectful to Scotland's great song and history.

  • @luckyslimester sounds like he forgot what key to start in, and they had to play it to jumpstart the song...

  • I'd have to disagree with MandyandAri, the breath control of the soloist leaves something to be desired. Also it's very...choppy and American sounding. It is an air, should have more flow, and always sounds better with a relaxed or better yet, Scottish accent.

  • amazing!! you all have perfect form, breathing techniques and all!

  • decent and put more emotion as well as more accent. other than that decent...

  • Great skills **********

  • Nice Job, a Capella too!

  • 19 people are taking the high road, everyone else is getting to scotland first.

  • did somebody just fart as sign to start???? hahah

  • As from the land where I grew up. I would say you should try this again. Take a couple months of accent learning.

Good hamonizing. Need to work on breathing and listening to your partners....

    Fine job! Keep it up

  • A fine tune a capella. The lads in Inversnaid would say 'tis fine indeed.

  • never heard a version of Loch Lomond like this....i like the fact it's different than other versions i've heard...it's excellent

  • I really love these songs, and especially Loch Lomond, so I'd really appreciate this group more if they TRIED to sound Scottish. For instance, "take" should be pronounced "tack" (like the thing you don't want to sit on). The group I've heard that I"ve liked best (they had a really great arrangement) didn't really sound Scottish but they pulled it off because of small things like that. This group innunciates far too much with the American style of voice.

  • @ElvenKeeper13 lol you must remember that most if not all of them are not of Scottish ancestry. i don't no y, but I'm American, with Scottish roots. Clan Grant. when I sing Scottish songs, i have more of a Scottish accent

  • Nice work Penn Pipers, it was worth the time to watch. Great choral sound and great intonation as well.

  • I wish guys IIII knew sung this song. :/

  • kudos to the guy singing what sounds like it could be the soprano part!

  • my only complaint is that it is a bit fast

  • uggg i agree with pizzaboy1250 he needs alot more air support from his diaphragm when he sings... lol and there is a tenor in there that is getting a little to excited and should sing softer in some places but it was still really good just solo needs a little work... i guess he could have just been nervous

  • muffinman10101 ,

I agree with you, he does need more air. And truth be told the solo actually should have been higher (meaning a tenor should have sung it). I dont really like the harmonies to much because it doesnt really flow like it should.

An excellent example of this piece being sung would be The King Singers (back when Bob Chilcotte was in the group)

  • We cannot always respect the language, unfortunatly. But it's true, it would have been a lot better thant it already is with the scottish accent.

Whatever, it's a good show, just the same :)

  • It was good but they said take not tak when they were singing

  • Scottish songs like this rule

  • @b68scotland Speaking technically, this isn't a Scottish song. Historical evidence point to it being written by a Brit and passed off as a folk song.

  • thanks a lot for posting this guys. I really enjoyed it, brings back memories of high school choir

  • This is absolutely beautiful.

  • the soloist was holding you back.

  • this is truly touching

  • thanks of such a beautiful version of one of my beloved songs

  • the one guys hand motions are fun to watch! i wouldn't expect such graceful accompaniment... ^_^

  • whats with the eyebrow

  • I'm guessing he "fell asleep" with his shoes on and some of his friends happened to have a razor available.

  • the eyebrow means he's forcing his sound too much and needs to support from his diaphragm ^_^

  • Great harmonies and well sung, just please sing the words in Scots! We hate it Anglified like this!

  • wow i love it!

  • oo very nice i loves it

  • I love it, but the lyrics, to be more accurate should be "where I and my true love" and take should be pronounced "tak" more or less. Besides that, excellent. 5 outa 5.

  • Look at the music. For centuries its been me and my true love.

  • exactly. and "where I and my true love" does not make any grammatical sense

  • excellent

  • brilliant
