Only thing I don't like about the song is it doesn't mention how Jesus rose on the third day and could not be killed. Also he is referred to as just a holy son of man not son of God as it should.

@JanBee1122 no your wrong he says "the only Son of God almighty" and he also says "they killed him", i will asume your a muslim, friend listen, hundreds of people died for the testimony of the resurected Jesus, Christians believe in one God, but the 3 dimensions of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are what alows God to love his creation personally through Jesus, search "walid shoebat islam is the antichist" and consider his statements. @jamesearlcash500 No you are wrong, I am Christian.  That is why I don't like them lumping Christ in with Ghandi, King and bothers Kennedy. You shouldn't like it either as a follower. This song waters Christ down. Kristofferson, was involved with those that mascarade as angels of light. Don't be deceived. I am not dissing Johnny, I think he was a true follower Christ but was deceived with this. Just calling Kristofferson and the music industry out.

@JanBee1122 I think the comparison is on a prophetic level, each acting as an impetus for social change in their time. Mentioning Jesus in line with Gandhi and King isn't detrimental. Faith requires you to believe that Jesus was both human and divine, no? So, the song would appear to play on the mortal facet. There's no need to deter people ("followers") from liking this song if you're willing to accept it as art, an expression, just as Jesus is an expression of the divine.

At least Johnny Cash stood for something, singing about things that aren't popular but essential shows character. Too many artists just and 'keep their opinion to themself', they cloud their real character for the sake of appealing to a wider audience.
