  • elvinsmatthew, we are planning on getting stuck into the editing of the DVD over spring and our hope is to have it out and ready by this years cod opening.

To everyone else thanks for the positive comments and tight lines.

    Cheers Wayne

  • Some of the fish in these lakes have been caught countless times and are much smarter then your average fish and as you will see in the DVD we manage to entice a few to take a fly which certainly proves the effectiveness of fly fishing for Murray cod. As for your call on the pic in the mag, if you bothered to read it you will see I was promoting the DVD and didn't try and claim that fish as being caught anywhere. I think this comment is a more of a reflection of your charactor then anything else

  • Bigshrimp351, as Grant said to the other critic I think you should wait and see the entire DVD before you go sharing your OPINION. It is a Basics DVD and sure most of the footage was in private lakes but the fish in some of these lakes get fished for and released all year round (no closed season) as any angler with a bit of knowledge knows every time a fish is caught and released it gets smarter and harder to entice or fool.

  • Saw a pic of yours from a hatchery in Victorian FISHING monthly . Didn't stop ya from trying to claim that was legit in the mag (caught before the close etc) . What next ,a DVD about fishing in trout farms ?

As the other fella said ...... Very lame .

  • when is it being realesed?

  • You're kidding, anyone can catch a fish in a hatchery pond. Should have called it ''A Fish a Cast at Murray Darling Fisheries''.

lol very lame. Go make a real fishing DVD in a real waterway you tool

  • @probludger Whatever mate, you have no idea how the DVD is structured, maybe wait to see the actual DVD before you comment. It's the first in a series of DVD's. The first being at introduction to fly fishing for cod. We explain in the DVD that we are fishing in a hatchery as the aim of the DVD is to show that specific techniques will work. We used the dams to demonstrate the techniques in action. The second DVD advances on these techniques and goes into REAL waterways like Mulwala and the Bidgee

  • Top work! Looking forward to getting a copy. I have also started my second production that will also incorporate Cod on fly. What an awsome way to enjoy the sport of chasing freshwater natives-there should be more of it!

  • @newenglandfishing1 Thanks for the kind comments mate, I totally agree fly fishing is a very exciting and addictive way to catch freshwater natives. Awesome to hear your incorporating fly fishing into your next DVD as well and good luck with the filming, I look forward to seeing it when it comes out.

    Cheers Wayne

  • Excellent looking DVD! Will have to get myself a copy when it comes out. love the start when the music builds and then the cod smashes the surface popper. Good job Mr Freshwater and Cut Above Productions.
