  • Thank you so much Im helping with our Daddy Daughter Dance and the theme is the 50's!! Thank you your a doll!!

  • I wish I had found this video before prom night! The theme was 1950's American Youth :(

  • you have that natural 40's look! i love it!

  • This is so cute! I love all of your styles but I can't really do the classic pomp and roll ones because my hair is so curly. The simpler ones work, though. Thanks for doing these videos! :)

  • Do this last if i want to dance with it al night? :P

  • @TheFunkyyellow I've never tested it for that, but if you pin it up well and use a lot of hairspray, it might! :)

  • thankyou! this is reaaaalllly gping to help me!!!

  • omg i love your hair!

  • perfect tutorial for my photoshoot. THANKYOU SOO MUCH. you are a life saver!!! :DDDDD

  • There is so much to like about the '50's!

  • lol the music you used is mid/late 40s. but nonetheless, i really like the hair(:

  • How do you keep your baby hairs smooth and so they dont come up??

  • @123Citty I either use a bit of a smoothing putty or hairspray to keep things in place! :)

  • @elegantlyamused

Ohh okay thanxx soo much!!i usually have a hard time with those!

  • omg adorable!

  • That hair do reminds me of Betty from the Archie comics

  • i had a play and i tried to do that bang it was super hard i love how you made so easy aha i loved the hair look imma use that hairstyle a lot now :D thanks for the tips oh btw i use that hairspray all the time and i love it <3

  • XD I completely agree about the hairspray - we use it all the time in choir...how do you do this hairstyle if you have no bangs, and really long hair?

  • @MEluvsu94 My hair has grown really long the past year along with my front layers, and I have started using Fleur's excellent tutorial to get the rolled bang look with super-long hair: youtube.com/watch?v=UfhhXW_iDn0

  • @elegantlyamused haha, I'm sorry, could you repaste the link? I can't seem to get it to work...thanks though XD

  • @MEluvsu94 Seems like YT won't let me post a working link, so search for "diaryofavintagegirl" you'll find Fleur's videos and the "1940s Faux Bang" one is the video you want! :)

  • your hair is so gorgeous

  • Wow! You are beautiful!

  • You look beautiful!!!!

  • man i wish i could do that it looks so cool!

  • You are so cute and vid was great thank you :)

  • Oh my goodness, I try to get my bangs like yours and they are failing to come out like that EVERY time I do 'em. KUDOS AND AWESOME VID!

  • I just tried out this style, and though the bangs were hard to pin right for me, I think it looks really great. Thanks for making this tutorial!

  • The 40's and 50's style of hair and clothing is really nice, the women enhance their beauty and the men look more handsome I suppose, I really like it.

And you're a classic beauty so this style makes you look cute, pretty, elegant, and beautiful at the same time, well done :)

  • I'm being a retro housewife for Halloween, even though I think retro style is awesome in every-day life anyway, and those faux bangs are so perfect!

  • Your hair looks really healthy. Do you use any special products/treatments? Thanks.

  • @Sbdesigngirl I don't use anything super special; just Tresseme shampoo/conditioner, a deep conditioner occasionally, and a clarifying shampoo about once-a-week. Nothin' expensive or fancy! ;)

  • YOU ARE SO PRETTY! YOU remind me of taylor swift! ^__^ <3

  • @carlyforniakid Thank you! ;) I get that comment a lot (about Taylor Swift) when I'm out, and still don't see the resemblance (she's so pretty and reminds me of a wood nymph! ;). lol.

  • @elegantlyamused Awwuuh you replied to me :) haha yes, she is pretty, that's why you look like her. lol anyways thankyou for the video, i was thinking about being a girl from the 50's for halloween, this made me wanna be one even more ^__^

  • Thanks, I think you've just done me a huge favour! I'm attending a birthday party in a month's time and it's going to be a masquerade. I'd like to dress in a fifties style uberwide skirt and I think this hairdo could work with that - especially since I don't have bangs and I think those were all the rage back in the day...

  • some wax/grease might probably help

    :)

  • Gosh you are so freaking bueatiful!

  • u look like a classic girl... pretty=D

  • should i have my hair in layers or no layers

  • Layers will probably work best for this style. ;)

  • Awesome video! I tried out this hairstyle the other day and not having styling putty, I found that Curel hand lotion worked just as well. Your tutorials are so great: can't wait for more!

  • Oh, this is perfect! No other tutorial I've found makes it so easy yet looks so authentic!

  • I love it!!! Thank you so much for sharing. You are awesome.

  • Woooooooow! You are so pretty!

  • This was awesome! I have so much hair that it's hard to do anything with it but I might try and play around wiht this style one day. You totally look like an old Barbie that I had from the 50's a family friend gave it to me and she had this same hairdo and about your color hair. So pretty!

  • m new to ur channel and omg!! this is soooo cute!!!! subbin rite now =) love pin up looks!!

  • god you have so much hair!! lol im so jealous you have such beautiful thick hair :) love this hairstyle, definitely will be trying it out!! thanks

  • Love the look! It looks adorable on you.

  • Thank You! I love this hairstyle I'm defenitly going to try it :)

  • very nice cute bang! what blush do you use here? it looks great on u U_U "

  • Thank you! About the blush shade: I'm not sure what the shade is called, but it's honestly just Ulta's house brand! ;) It's just a nice, mid-tone peachy-pink.

  • i just love this!

i have a layered shoulder length haircut but the ends of the layers tend to stick out a lot. what would you recommend to do to have the layers curl in rather than out? thanks:)

  • Hello! I'm so glad you like this tutorial! :)

I would recommend curling the ends under with a curling iron (a 1" barrel iron should be perfect), which will probably be the easiest with layers (as opposed to doing rollers). Sometimes I put my hair up, and then curl the ponytail with a curling iron! ;) (Just in small chunks.)

  • Gorgeous hairstyle! I am going to give this a try now <3

  • This look is so pretty. I love it. I've tried doing this with my bangs but I think they are too layered. Maybe I need more styling putty. Anyway, great tutorial!! :)

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial! It does take quite a bit of styling putty--especially if your bangs are really layered. A month ago, when my layers were shorter, it took a bit more wrangling and product to get everything in place! ;)

  • lol! ;)

  • your hair grew fast!:O

    really pretty.

  • I really like this, You really explained the pin curl well. I think I will be able to do this! Thanks for all you do, I have really enjoyed your tutorials. Do you still get your hair cut 40's style? I am wondering if I should consider do that. Thanks!

  • I'm glad it worked for you! :) Yes, I still get my hair cut in 40s layers (I need to get a trim actually! :), and find it's very helpful if you're interested in doing this look on a regular/daily basis. Everything just goes together a bit more smoothly!

  • This is so pretty! I have naturally curly hair and its hard to try out some hairstyles cuz a lot of it is for straight hair. You should do another look involving curly hair if you know of one. :)
