I, for one, can see the why the Dr. was frustrated. It sounds like he was on his way to work and gets stuck behind to handjobs playing on bikes. I like riding bikes, but i recognize the differernce betweeen recreational biking and a dr. commuting.
oh, please spare me the whole "bikes have a leagal right to the whole road" Bull S$it, slow vehicals obstructing traffic should PULL OVER
The bike riders were going downhill at speed limit (30mph) and the Dr. had to speed to pass them (then of course slam on the brakes). Just a couple days ago, the jury found the Dr. GUILTY on all 7 counts, including attempted murder.
Bicycles do have the same rights to the road as cars. Cyclists should ride single file as far right as SAFELY possible when moving slower than traffic (most do). However, a cyclist can take the entire lane at any time and at any speed if it's for their safety.
If you knew the facts, you'd know that the riders did NOT instigate the incident. Regardless, the Dr. wasn't going to the hospital for an emergency. Even if he was, he has no right to attempt to murder anyone - especially as a Dr.
Most riders in LA don't think they're God. Most drivers do however think they own the road, which is NOT the case. The road is open to all vehicles-the law gives cyclist the same privileges to the road.
It's sad that you want someone to die because they ride a bike
When did this happen? I live right near there off of the canyon and hadn't heard of this incident before. So scary! all residents in the canyon must drive slowly and very cautiously.

Does anyone know how the doctor's August '09 trial ended?
I Googled it and came up with nothing except reports about when the trial would start.

Here's to hoping this doctor is never allowed to practice again.
