  • Does the women at the start have some sort of mental illness?

  • This is an awesome vidoe/song Would be better if someone would cut that stupid, ugly, untalented bitch Kennedy out of it! RIP Shannon...We love and miss you Bro

  • Kennedy

  • save me

  • i dont think music gets much better than this live

    top notch

  • I went to the same rehab as Shannon. The priest there would get all upset talking about him. Hopefully I can learn a lesson from what Shannon lost. I mean that in a positive way

  • RIP Shannon...you were awesome. Sorry you got into that f**in scene. They all rocked !!

  • What's the name of that tv program?

  • @jmill2828er :Maybe in the 2020's again?

  • Just stay wit me and ill have it made..

  • I like to speak my point of view but it's not sane

  • back when MTV wasn't complete hogshit

  • @zepps88 Absolutely. I remember when I was 18 or so and my dad and I watched Bob Dylan unplugged on MTV. It was my introduction to Dylan and I've been a huge fan of his ever since.

  • when did Andrew VanWyngarden start singing for blind melon?

  • woah NEVER seen this band live! youtube is pretty boss sometimes

  • Damn ! That was impressive !

  • Fucking amazing. Spot on!

  • this song is also in my life's sountrack

  • For me blind melon are beside Pearl Jam, The cranberries and Alice in chains one of the best band ever

  • @FeanaroTinehtele Yay somebody givin props to the Cranberries...wouldn't have been the 90's without them. Haters can go away quietly and thankyou. I miss Shannon.

  • @FeanaroTinehtele Soundgarden

  • saw these guys last week at the fair, they were pretty good live!

  • sounds better live, like the bee girl video, but Blind Melon way better live.

  • @JacobBlackRoxz 56 DISLIKES? they've obviously never enjoyed the rain!

  • Blind Melon is amazing. Check out my band Fairweather Musicians it would be much appreciated!

  • These guys played such a big part in the nineties music but look like hippies from the sixties. I wonder if they enjoyed themselves at all...

  • @VegardMinde what do you mean?

  • @LilVargas56 The nineties -I don't think they enjoyed the nineties !

  • @VegardMinde They were hippies of the 90s...

  • @VegardMinde Well if u think about it... the 90's rock/grunge movement will probably be the closest we will ever get to late 60's-70s rock again.... pretty sad... talented bands were actually getting credit. now its just pathetic what they have on mtv and the radio waves.

  • @jmill2828er I wouldn`t worry too much man. If anything I think we are clearly leaving the grunge movement and are entering a new one. You got bands like Wolfmother, Shinedown, Seether, etc. And with groups like ACDC, Aerosmith, Velvet Revolver doing albums now and in the last 5 years. I think we are seeing a re-birth in rock. And what you hear on radio is just music business, appealing to then 8-16 year olds. Thats where they are finding the money.

  • @jmill2828er Check out Cage The Elephant's newest album, "Thank You Happy Birthday" they have a very grungy feel to them!

  • @mikehowton707 agreed!! love cage the elephant! bought their album. they are very talented kids. great lyrics and guitar work.

I completely recommend The Parlor Mob to anyone that likes rock

they are a great new rock band that are great live. check out the tunes "Cant keep no good boy down" and also "bullet" . you cant go wrong with them. very zeppelin feel to them

  • @jmill2828er dud they are really good! Just looked them up!

  • @jmill2828er its cool man its all phases. 60 and 70's rock with 90's. and the 80's and now. its like every twenty year cycles. so that just means were about to have another 60's 70's and 90's phase. a new grunge movement or something like that. if you think about it were all 80's and mainstream and and shitty music right now. but WE WILL make a comeback in the next c

    couple years.

  • hmMMMmmm yyeaa

  • Now is rainning outside my house ;)

  • Favorite 90's song

  • New girl brought me here :)

  • So sad that shannon hoon died. He has a unique voice

  • my uncle-in law was the manager for these guys, great band!

  • Amazing voice so original

  • I just got "sling shoted" back to high school. Thanks for the post.

  • @marksmithwas12 haha holy shit me too!

  • NintendoCapriSun sent me here...I think

  • ...is it just ME, or was Shannon Hoon the male version of Janis Joplin?

  • i do a ok version of this song great band r.i.p shannon check out my link above

  • BUT HE WAS A HEROINE ADDICT AT THE SAME TIME IT WAS JUST THE COKE THAT KILLED HIM FIRST. :(

  • hooray a million views!

  • somebody ask me..what kind of music they have(blind melon)?

because they always compare to other musicians... i just said if

you are a real music lover, try to find out by yourself! every music has

its own story..we have thank to all musicians as most of there song are very

    inspiring....

  • R.I.P Shannon Hoon

  • Y esta rola me recuerda a mi brother <3

  • this makes me sad....

  • shannon hoon shannon hoon, its blind melon, they are all amazing, dont give the praise to one person. i know Hoon is amazing himself but you guys should recognize his band mates as much as he is.

  • @TimesAwesome they were all fuckin one man... brothers..

  • @TimesAwesome That´s why you wrote "Shannon Hoon" twice at the beginning of your comment. Right.

  • like the song buhhht........... he did have some probs he could not deal with.... all the great singers die young(sigh)

  • they all looked like hippies here.

  • I will personally come to your house and fuck you up if you say anything bad about Shannon and the rest of Blind Melon.

With No Rain playing in the background.

  • is shannon hoon the female lead singer?

  • @howery1 Shannon Hoon is Male, real name Richard Shannon Hoon.

  • Who is the girl? She looks like Katy Perry.

  • <3 shannon

  • missed big time and its warm where he is

  • Fucking kennedy, shut the fuck up already

  • Shannon, you are singing with the angels. You were one of a kind. I never get tired of hearing "No Rain". What a great song....I always smile when I hear it. Thank you, Shannon and Blind Melon, for sharing your musical gifts with us. Your music will live on forever!!

  • Shannon, you left us too soon.

  • Great song!

  • ive looked around on youtube for some time now and THIS is the best version of No Rain. So save your self the time and trouble. Listen to this version one time extra and enjoy!

  • well... its his bday and what do u know the puddles are gathering rain. Somewhere hes having a wild party.

  • thank you shannon

  • Brilliant song

  • Shannon had a great voice, but I don't think such a sweet unassuming person was cut out to be a rock star.

  • kennedy is so cute

  • Shannon Hoon was an amazing vocalist and a pleasant soul and is greatly missed by many. I don't understand why people have to be so negative though. His personal problems have nothing to do with who he was inside....which is brilliant and beautiful.

  • I think Shannon's voice is just amazing.

  • holy fuck.

    color me impressed.

  • 52 people soaked in rain..

  • what show is this from? that host was high as fuckkkk! lmao

  • Dude that voice

  • I agree....we're in a fkd up world and it seems to calm the soul

  • nice!

  • yes he died from drugs...lets look at the big picture, while he was with us he made beautiful music. Stop being so simple minded.

  • Great version of an awesome song. It sux that artistic brilliance such as this is lost to drugs.

  • If everyone in the world was a Shannon Hoon... the world would be a much better place.

  • @Tigerpuffer we would also all be really high on coke

  • @yogosun112: And really good weed. :P

  • @Tigerpuffer If everyone in the world was a Shannon Hoon... we would all be dead from heroin overdoes

  • @gorrillacolt: Shannon didn't do heroin. Leave now

  • @Tigerpuffer im sorry your right. we all be dead of cocaine. but good music

  • @gorrillacolt: Maybe if the whole world was made of people who took after Shannon, we wouldn't have to escape using hard drugs that don't expand your mind.

  • @Tigerpuffer You mean dying of a supposed drug overdose?

  • @alucardletombs: No, I mean we'd be free of judgemental assholes like yourself.

  • @Tigerpuffer I am not judgmental, the guy supposedly died of a drug overdose. How does that make me judgmental?

  • @Tigerpuffer No, we would all be strung out on dope.

  • @Tigerpuffer if everyone was shannon hoon then we'd all be dead from a cocaine overdose

  • @MrStickupkid Dude.....not fucking cool.

  • @Tigerpuffer

well, yeah, man, but we'd also all be dead. :)

  • @evilthesaurus: That wasn't funny the first time someone said that, the 2nd, 3rd, the 12th, and it wasnt funny just now.

  • @Tigerpuffer

hey, I wasn't trying to be mean. I love Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon. I'm on your side, man.

  • @evilthesaurus: Ah well forgive me. Most of the people who replied that were just being assholes...

  • @Tigerpuffer

it's okay. and I hope that everyone who leaves comments on this video are blind melon lovers like you and me :)

  • @evilthesaurus: Yes I agree. :D everyone should listen to Blind Melon.

  • @Tigerpuffer Wouldn't everyone in the world be a heroin addict?

Just saying. Maybe one Shannon Hoon is enough. :|

  • @YouGooSux: No he wasnt. And fuck you for being like the 30th person to make a joke like that. If you dont like it, dont watch the video, and dont disrespect the dead, asshole.

  • @Tigerpuffer No disrespect or joking. Shannon Hoon was, in fact, struggling to overcome heroin addiction. He was a great artist. It is a shame that drugs claimed his life like so many other talented artists.

    Tigerpuffer: You mad?

  • @YouGooSux: Shan wasnt a heroin addict. He died of a cocaine overdose. Not much better, but still. And I'm mad because a shit ton of smart ass people have made the same kind of comment, and it's disrespectful. Just as bad as the people who make fun of Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley.

  • @Tigerpuffer

Include my boy Brad Nolan from the great casualties. And of course Jim Morrison. Just because you died of addiction doesn't mean your bad forever. RIP Shannon. Blind Melon was never Blind Melon when you past away man.

  • @alvinpatacsil: Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley...

  • @YouGooSux :: He's right man. Hoon did die from a coke overdose. Search it online. There are several articles that all say the same thing. I did however hear the same thing you did back years ago that he had died of an heroin overdose. It was just a rumor.

  • What a waste of perfectly good talent - drugs kill :-/

  • @clditm Did you ever think that some of us choose to use drugs cuz we see the world for what it is..Cold,Sick,Greedy,Blood sucking your soul.,Lies,Fake Smiles..

  • When he half-smiled at 0:54 I smiled double!

  • Check out "Chillin" by Five Wheel Soul

  • thumbs up if it sounds better than the album version! R.I.P Shannon Hoon

  • First time I heard of Shannon was on G 'n R's Use Your Illusion (did some backup vocals). Fell in love with BM after that. RIP Shannon.

  • i loved this song from the first time i heard it and now i can't stop listening to it

    R.I.P Shannon Hoon

  • ive been looking for this SONG for almost 3 years!! didnt know that NO RAIN is the title!! its FREAKIN AWSOME!!!

  • I fucking hate when they take liberties with songs.

  • RIP

  • i reallt fuckin miss this band this was one of my first cd's when i was little i cried so hard when he died i was a little kid and u see your heros as larger than life and when i found out he died i was just crushed i was about 7 i just listened to this cd over and over

  • This video is missing the 'Love' button,it only has 'Like' and 'Dislike'. Please fix this,YouTube. Thank you for your time. Have a great day!

  • @bomber88x Kennedy? I'm sure that was it.

  • This song is happy and sad at the same time somehow

  • Sweet!! thanks

  • now his sound means more than ever...

  • he sleeps all day and starts to complain when theres no rain

i stumbled on this epiphony last night and almost every lyrical line can relate to the process of shrooming and being excited about shrooming, if not depressed in general

  • @jaurandt I was thinking maybe he was singing about heroin. He sleeps all day and starts to complain when theres no rain. Maybe hes not singing about drugs at all...

  • @jaurandt I was thinking maybe he was singing about heroin. He sleeps all day and starts to complain when theres no rain. Maybe hes not singing about drugs at all... I just read that other comment and you could be entirely correct. :)

  • also, his point of view is obviously not sane on shrooms :)

  • and finally of course, you all know how great an escape it is

  • and speak his point of view based on the perspective change mushrooms give you

  • the shrooms will always be there when you wake, if it has rained

the speaker of the song is literally a depressed enough person to NEED a serotonin acting psychedelic to function correctly

  • @MrAnacondaProduction thanks for the book title. definitely gonna read it

  • you have 10 minutes to guess, otherwise i am not sharing the answer

  • @jaurandt I'm not really sure. Care to explain?

  • @ChucklingClown

well, his (the speaker in this song) life is pretty plain when it doesn't rain, because when it rains, psilocybin mushrooms grow, and he uses them to pull himself out of depression

he pours "shroom" tea for two (maybe his shrooming buddy)

he wants someone to tell him to stop doing this because the process of mushroom picking and eating your harvest is incredibly addicting if you have ever done it

he reads a book to stay awake because the best time to go shrooming is early

  • @jaurandt Interesting theory.

  • can any of you kids tell me what this song is about?

  • Saw Blind Melon open for Robert Plant at cal expo a few weeks later Shannon left this world, I was glad I had a chance to see him perform his magic on stage.

  • I remember when Blind Melon opened for Guns n Roses in Rapid City SD, wow that was a day or two ago! What a night that was!!

  • @craig12ist Theres a bootleg of that show out there on The Traders Den DOT org

  • why the fuck is Rebbecca Black Friday acoustic in the suggested videos? can I just watch Blind Melon videos without having to see or hear her

Rebbecca Black = Part of whats wrong with my Generations music.

Blind Melon- One of the most underated bands ever with the most beautiful lead singer!

I mean seriously if i love Blind Melon then why Would I like rebecca Black?

  • Songs deep...

  • Shannon had an amazing voice...

  • Jadi inget waktu masih SMA kelas 1 ... Lagu ini JUARA!

  • 90s=best rock

    80s=best metal (not hair metal)

  • this is very good song

  • They really were set up to be our generations 'The Doors'. I actually think Shannon might have just been waaaaaaaay too cool to just be here on Earth. He had an immortal soul.

  • @brandtrey1 I miss Shannon.

  • @brandtrey1 can you please share what your perceptions of the doors is? i am just curious. i am not to blind melon and would like to hear this so i can keep it in mind as i venture through their music

  • so good live ! so sad that he died :(

  • ...this hostess. omgosh.

  • @armandahammer Kennedy...

  • Blind Melon and of course Alice in chains were and are the best

  • his voice sounds werid here. or is it just me? i'm just saying btw

i recon him as a great frontman of the 90's

  • @dnnysrock I actually think he sounds better than every other version of the song

  • dame hes good

  • It was a cocaine overdose.

  • Btw 13tarq, heroin did kill the band, the member was Shannon

  • - continued from the last - Go with Tribe Called Quest, Beasties, Run-DMC, LL, NWA... oh and I can never forget or exclude Jane's Addiction. But Shannon and the people then were and some still are dope as hell

  • @thelizard909 - yes! this! we had good music then. there was always the pop crap but all the bands you mentioned were artists not factory tooled money-machines. Gimmie the 90's rock scene any day. ALSO - The Cult, Violent Femmes, Ween, They Might Be Giants, Soundgarden. Not to mention the Industrials, the mad sound. Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Dead Kennedys. All that shiz was cool. I look at today music and despair. You want rap or hip-hop?

  • Kennedy had a bit of the juicy for Shannon. Betcha he nailed her. Great song also. RIP Shan, awesome as always.

  • sucks

  • Check out "Chillin" by Five Wheel Soul

  • Why would someone call this gay? This is about the human condition, not sexual orientation. Gay used to mean happy. Then it meant homosexual. Now it means anything that you find disagreeable, so essentially your just highlighting your own small-mindedness when you call something you dont understand gay.

  • can i get this anywhere for my ipod?

  • Anyone else who grew up in the greatest decade for music, notice how shitty music is today? the rock is CRAP the metal iS WEAK, Hip hop is dead. I mean god damn the rock and metal of 90's will never go out of style like the music of the 30's 40's 50's did. And i mentioned hip hop. You all know snoop dog, tu pac, biggie, Wu tang clan etc etc were the shit in the 90's. it was nothing to listen to some sound garden then put in some wu tang in the 90's. What a fuckin great decade. Now it sucks

  • @urGod21 i'll agree with you on the hip hop and metal statements but the rock is not crap and don't get me wrong i love all the 80's and 90's music just as much as the next guy but there are some great rock songs today.

  • @thelizard909 You mean the pop rock of today. There are no bands today that even come close in style to the music of the 90's. Nirvana, pearl jam, sound garden, alice in chains (with layne staley) Stone temple pilots, Radiohead, nine inch nails, beck, blind melon eric clapton, REM, smashing pumpkins. RHCP. etc etc. Yea alot of 90's bands are still around and even making music, but even they sold out to the pop rock way. Nothing today sounds like it would fit in the 90's. Best rock era ever

  • I'll have what she's having.

  • Is the host high or something? lol

  • this shit always blows my mind man!! since the fucking 90s, no band touches them...brilliant musicians! change is another one...classic hippies

  • makes me happy

  • shannon hoon went to my high school :)

  • @ParamoreFans2 No he didn't.. If that was true. You'd be in your 40's right now. You look like a freaking teen. Try harder next time.

  • @voro122 He went to his high school!! Didn't go to high school with him!! The school ceased to exist before this kid went there. One day he woke up 15 years old and there it was a high school. No one ever went there before him

  • @voro122 i didn't mean he was in my class, i mean he went to the high school i currently go to. god damn.
