@zepps88 Absolutely. I remember when I was 18 or so and my dad and I watched Bob Dylan unplugged on MTV. It was my introduction to Dylan and I've been a huge fan of his ever since.
@FeanaroTinehtele Yay somebody givin props to the Cranberries...wouldn't have been the 90's without them. Haters can go away quietly and thankyou. I miss Shannon.
@VegardMinde Well if u think about it... the 90's rock/grunge movement will probably be the closest we will ever get to late 60's-70s rock again.... pretty sad... talented bands were actually getting credit. now its just pathetic what they have on mtv and the radio waves.
@jmill2828er I wouldn`t worry too much man. If anything I think we are clearly leaving the grunge movement and are entering a new one. You got bands like Wolfmother, Shinedown, Seether, etc. And with groups like ACDC, Aerosmith, Velvet Revolver doing albums now and in the last 5 years. I think we are seeing a re-birth in rock. And what you hear on radio is just music business, appealing to then 8-16 year olds. Thats where they are finding the money.

Shannon, you are singing with the angels. You were one of a kind. I never get tired of hearing "No Rain". What a great song....I always smile when I hear it. Thank you, Shannon and Blind Melon, for sharing your musical gifts with us. Your music will live on forever!!
ive looked around on youtube for some time now and THIS is the best version of No Rain. So save your self the time and trouble. Listen to this version one time extra and enjoy!
Shannon Hoon was an amazing vocalist and a pleasant soul and is greatly missed by many. I don't understand why people have to be so negative though. His personal problems have nothing to do with who he was inside....which is brilliant and beautiful.
@gorrillacolt: Maybe if the whole world was made of people who took after Shannon, we wouldn't have to escape using hard drugs that don't expand your mind.
@YouGooSux: No he wasnt. And fuck you for being like the 30th person to make a joke like that. If you dont like it, dont watch the video, and dont disrespect the dead, asshole.
@Tigerpuffer No disrespect or joking. Shannon Hoon was, in fact, struggling to overcome heroin addiction. He was a great artist. It is a shame that drugs claimed his life like so many other talented artists.
@YouGooSux: Shan wasnt a heroin addict. He died of a cocaine overdose. Not much better, but still. And I'm mad because a shit ton of smart ass people have made the same kind of comment, and it's disrespectful. Just as bad as the people who make fun of Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley.
Include my boy Brad Nolan from the great casualties. And of course Jim Morrison. Just because you died of addiction doesn't mean your bad forever. RIP Shannon. Blind Melon was never Blind Melon when you past away man.
@YouGooSux :: He's right man. Hoon did die from a coke overdose. Search it online. There are several articles that all say the same thing. I did however hear the same thing you did back years ago that he had died of an heroin overdose. It was just a rumor.

well, his (the speaker in this song) life is pretty plain when it doesn't rain, because when it rains, psilocybin mushrooms grow, and he uses them to pull himself out of depression
he pours "shroom" tea for two (maybe his shrooming buddy)
he wants someone to tell him to stop doing this because the process of mushroom picking and eating your harvest is incredibly addicting if you have ever done it

@brandtrey1 can you please share what your perceptions of the doors is? i am just curious. i am not to blind melon and would like to hear this so i can keep it in mind as i venture through their music
- continued from the last - Go with Tribe Called Quest, Beasties, Run-DMC, LL, NWA... oh and I can never forget or exclude Jane's Addiction. But Shannon and the people then were and some still are dope as hell
@thelizard909 - yes! this! we had good music then. there was always the pop crap but all the bands you mentioned were artists not factory tooled money-machines. Gimmie the 90's rock scene any day. ALSO - The Cult, Violent Femmes, Ween, They Might Be Giants, Soundgarden. Not to mention the Industrials, the mad sound. Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Dead Kennedys. All that shiz was cool. I look at today music and despair. You want rap or hip-hop?
Why would someone call this gay? This is about the human condition, not sexual orientation. Gay used to mean happy. Then it meant homosexual. Now it means anything that you find disagreeable, so essentially your just highlighting your own small-mindedness when you call something you dont understand gay.
Anyone else who grew up in the greatest decade for music, notice how shitty music is today? the rock is CRAP the metal iS WEAK, Hip hop is dead. I mean god damn the rock and metal of 90's will never go out of style like the music of the 30's 40's 50's did. And i mentioned hip hop. You all know snoop dog, tu pac, biggie, Wu tang clan etc etc were the shit in the 90's. it was nothing to listen to some sound garden then put in some wu tang in the 90's. What a fuckin great decade. Now it sucks
@urGod21 i'll agree with you on the hip hop and metal statements but the rock is not crap and don't get me wrong i love all the 80's and 90's music just as much as the next guy but there are some great rock songs today.
@thelizard909 You mean the pop rock of today. There are no bands today that even come close in style to the music of the 90's. Nirvana, pearl jam, sound garden, alice in chains (with layne staley) Stone temple pilots, Radiohead, nine inch nails, beck, blind melon eric clapton, REM, smashing pumpkins. RHCP. etc etc. Yea alot of 90's bands are still around and even making music, but even they sold out to the pop rock way. Nothing today sounds like it would fit in the 90's. Best rock era ever
@voro122 He went to his high school!! Didn't go to high school with him!! The school ceased to exist before this kid went there. One day he woke up 15 years old and there it was a high school. No one ever went there before him

Kennedy had a bit of the juicy for Shannon. Betcha he nailed her. Great song also. RIP Shan, awesome as always.

@ParamoreFans2 No he didn't.. If that was true. You'd be in your 40's right now. You look like a freaking teen. Try harder next time.

@voro122 He went to his high school!! Didn't go to high school with him!! The school ceased to exist before this kid went there. One day he woke up 15 years old and there it was a high school. No one ever went there before him
