it also didnt help that his car was a panoz. if i can recall this was the last time a panoz attempted and indycar race. alot of injuries and deaths over the years contributed to the panoz chassis. i know for a fact he was injured in this crash, but i cant remember what. he withdrew from the race and jacques lazier was supposed to replace him but they never made another attempt.

Besides surving, the coolest thing about this is he made the race with that car.

No he didn't, he qualified the previous year. The car was totaled. He also was hurt pretty badly with bruised lungs and a cervical sprain I believe. The team shortly folded after this due to legal problems with the owner.
