  • windows 98 lol

  • Kim Jong Il: It's not rolking

Kim Jong Un: Ren tuln it off and on again

  • What OS do they use? It seemed deliberately obscured because it is probably windows 98

  • Gee I wonder how many North Koreans will be able to buy one&pay for the service&how many web-sites they can go to without government inerference? I wonder if I can get one&they must be cheaper than any lap-top from Japan,South Korea or China? Cheap like Kia&Hyundai cars from South Korea!!!

  • @RonSafreed suprisingly enough, LG actually manufacturers alot of internal components of its Plasma and LCD TVs in N.Korea, along with computer components. Also Hyundai makes parts for the Genisis sedan and coupe in N.Korea also.

  • MacBook killer!!

  • Great design...

  • I want one

  • I mis-spelled shocked... That confirms me as a dumb ass after all!!!

  • Hangul is 24 Characters, not like Chinese at all.

As far as being a dumb ass, I may be... But I have traveled to Asia to know that they put all of us English speaking people in the same bucket...

I speak enough Korean to understand how they talk about us when they think nobody understands what they are saying. The shoked looks are priceless!

Not too bad for a dumb ass, really...

Anyone know why socialists always have to call names and be hateful?

  • @john3kbs they dont hate canadians and british you dumb ass...

  • Why are the keyboards in English characters when they hate us so much? That makes NO sense...

  • @john3kbs my thoughts exactly

  • @john3kbs They don't hate English only Americans. Ad imagine the size of the laptop keyboards if they are in Korean.

  • 1:12 Max resolution: 320 x 160 pixels...

  • would be funny if those could run old school games

  • Their laptops don't run "Windows","Mac" or "Linux"...they run "Dear Leader" which only allows the playing of military music.

  • solche Bilder beweisen immer wieder wie fortschrittlich Nordkorea doch ist

  • Could someone who spaeks Korean please treanslate for us?

  • they didn't make them... i think they bought them off china and they bought children's ones! did anyone see the huge clunky interface? only one showed a proper windows interface and im not so sure its even xp could be windows 95?

i think the propaganda dept moved into a fish warehouse with 30 substandard laptops (cause their on a shoestring budget) bought from china and got all the workers to keep tapping tab and backspace. displaying the computers out opend was enough to convince me its bs

  • Just like the hamburger, the computer was invented by the dear leader. Two things I happen to like very much... he will be missed.

  • Thank you for uploading this video. Now I have proof to show to my classmates for my class presentation that North Korea makes computers for kids studying in Prep School. My kid brother from Prep School has just like one of those and he likes it very much. If only English words were added the video will be more than great.Thanks.

  • i know a quality piece of machinery when i see it , this right here, top of the line

  • even a militarized starving asians can make laptops and electronics.....

  • The heck? It seems like out of all the keys there and mouse pad, they can only hit the tab and enter keys.

  • anyone have the specs of the laptops? 1 GB ram and 2 GB memory?

  • @akumie2 I can understan what they say. It has core i7 with GTX580M and 8GB RAM

  • @theholyrevenger hahahaha they make good laptops yet no electricity so people can use them

  • shows that the market-system is not needed to produce technology.

  • what os is it run? serious question

are they build their own OS ? cool

  • @k1ngm4n Yes! they have their own Linux distribution, called Red Star.

At home, they could use both Windows and Red Star (moreover, last time when I visited NK, I saw Windows 7 at their electronics store).

But at internet cafe ("Kwangmyong" - local NK internet network),

schools, universities, factories, police and government departments they have only Red Star, probably because Linux has open source and they can be 100% sure about it.

  • @radiowavers You visited north korea? How's that skyscraper, the ryugyong hotel? I'm real curious about it....

By the way is the Internet all censored there and everything, like the South Korea website?

  • @NicksLocker First time I got there as a student. I was at 4th course, and when university has offered me possible places for practice: some here and some in foreign countries (including NK), I picked NK instantly, because I thought "I would never have such an opportunity in my life, and it would be silly not to use it." I have had a practice for three month. Probably because the practice was really successful, they told me that now I could visit NK anytime. After, I visited it two times.

  • @NicksLocker I don't know much about that hotel, probably it is still under construction. It looks really cool from outside, but the entrance was closed so I don't know how it looks inside. I hope it will be finished before my next visit, I think it would be really awesome to stay there!

  • @NicksLocker About their Internet: I don't know whether it is regulated or not. For example, if I would have noticed that someone posts a bad message at forums and then it is removed, then I would know for sure that their internet is regulated. But I didn't saw bad messages, so I don't know what happens to them if they would appear.

  • LOL look at 1:40 they use real laptops to build the NK ones

  • @oustreee probably it is a high-end model =)

  • computerdemika , computoga , computonu , computodrun , computo , computoin , computonun , computoi

    FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Which means computer!

  • you can only set the Kig jong ill's photo as wallpaper!

  • wtf is of use if the computers dont even have internet access? :|

  • Great Leader, the inventor of rainbows! Why did you leave us??

  • BETTER THEN LINUX!!!!

  • Windows Kimg Jong Il 7 64 Bit DPRK version

  • The look of the laptops are out of date.

  • HAHAHA Looks at the chairs in this fake high-tech lab. I bet that`s where they put in the special dprk keyboards. (no escape)

  • Damn!!! I just bought myself a MacBookPro.... Bet KimTube, Juchgle, Kimipedia, Kimbook and the Internalnet work better on this modern marvel....

  • @JimmyThaCop LOL =)

  • my lame cowon x7 UI still looks much better than this shit

  • i bet the laptops have hardwired spyware and keylogger :)

  • @cxpm777 ...to spy

  • at least they don't know about the windows blue screen.....

  • 0:14 looks like an old Compaq 486 laptop. That's DPRK tech for you.

  • @ordinaryk Building a PC from scratch isn't so easy - they are essentially self sufficient.

  • i bet its better than windows vista.

  • my mobile phone is better o_O

  • its interesting how the keyboard is in english, and frankly you only need the letters K I M J O N G I L U N S U

  • 1:18 American OFFICE WORD

  • I don't think the lappies are integrated even with a 28.8k internal modem.

  • Omg, it has USB! I need to get one of those.

  • so BILL GATES STOLE THE IDEA FROM THIS PEOPLE I KNEW IT ALL THIS TIME NO WONDER WHY WE GET THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH WITH ALL THOSE KOREAN LETTER ON THE ERROR MESSAGE

  • @cadaverock No, Bill Gates bought an Operating System from Tim Paterson for £50k then cut a licensing deal with IBM.

  • 1:31 Not just North Korean's RedStar Linux, they are using the US Windows XP.

  • 0:11 American keyboard? WTF???

  • Comment removed

  • Dear Leader Kim Jong-Il invented the electronic computer while he was playing in nursery school. He also invented the internet, but Al Gore stole his credit.

  • Comment removed

  • just like my kid's toy computer where the edges are wider than the screen, only my kid's laptop plays better melodies :)_)

  • WTF !! WHY THEY NEED COMPUTERS WHEN INTERNET DONT EXISTS.

  • WTF !! WHY THEY NEED COMPUTERS WHEN INTERNET DONT EXISTS.

  • Next inventions in north korea... toilet paper and the toothbrush

  • @SuperGetitgotitgood They've manufactured toilet papers already and named it after Kim Jong Il's fav movie star, Steven Seagal, only it wasn't so popular because just like its namesake, it wouldn't take shit from anybody- even Kim himself.

  • @Legac1es its is also my suspession that this video was taken from the 80's or 90's

  • @grvc44 No, this was taken just recently, only they are still using old films and camera :))

  • I bet they say : `Our great leader , Kim Jong II created this amazing thing` ...

  • @Tenki09 in conjuction with al gore, who invented the internet

  • It's funny how they hate us Imperialist Americans, but they use Windows and use CPUs from US companies. So much for self reliance!

  • specs of north korean laptop

    processor:intel pentium poor 0.1 GHZ

    mother board: made of pines

    charcoal powered 3 watts

    modem made of wood

    keyboard from typewriter

  • @grvc44 Specs of the laptop

    Video Card:GTX Fuckit

    Motherboard:PCI E shit board express

Processor: Intel 0.001 mgh F my life bridge

  • @Btassium damn how it will work hahhahaha

  • These people are Nazis...they pretend to be otherwise

  • Can it run Crysis?

  • Even when they steal the 99% of components, they can't put together something that is 4 decades behind everyone else.

  • Looks like they're running Windows CE. If you look at 1:18 you can see the Word and Excel icons on the screen. They're probably powered by a VIA processor running at 500MHz.

  • I wanna see how they run Crysis 2

  • So if they are produced by North Korea, why do they have a LATIN KEYBOARD? HMMMMMMMM

  • @MrClrg nobody speaks latin. its a dead language

  • @Liftorangejuice latin is actually the ALPHABET you learned at school to read and write...

  • @Liftorangejuice You speak English, don't you? Now tell me, what alphabet are you using? Cyrillic, Greek, Japanese or Latin?

  • Kim Jong Il 2.0 reloaded. They had to write their own OS so noone could install MS soft to it or Linux soft lol

  • does it run kim jong os?

  • I wonder if those thing can connect to the internet ;)

  • no doubt full of government spyware and only able to access approved DPRK sites

  • everything in korea is limited edition...coz it goes only to great leader lol...i bet if these limited editions were sent to usa...hollywood celebs will pay big money...in the name of charity....ok that was weird lol..but then it is reality.

  • hmm i wonder if my laptop is made in korea....no its china...god bless china for providing me a low cost laptop....hail the chinese leader.

  • North Korea is stuck in a time warp. Why buy a computer when you can't even go on the internet?

  • What?? "Enter" key in a NK laptop?? WTF?

  • LOL it looks like some kind of windows CE derivate

  • North Korean Laptops are best Laptops. Laptops were invented in North Korea, every other laptop made in every other country is cheap, ugly, knockoff piece of crap.

  • some people are reinventing the wheel ...

  • I bet my old PowerBook 180 has more power than the Dear Leader 8419

  • DUDE THIS SHIT CAN PLAY BATTLEFIELD 3 LIKE A FUCKING BOSS AND IT EVEN HAS A 4k SCREEN!!!!!

  • As an ultimate troll, I wish someone in the room would bust out an IPhone, imagine it like this:

"Yo hold up a sec son, I got to Face Chat with my home boy from South Korea....."

Kim Jung (I spell my name with a DASH) il , would die out of sheer shock. Imagine him dead.....oh wait?

  • west outsources to china

    china outsources to north korea

  • will these laptops be restricted to only having images of kim jong il as it's wallpaper or screensaver? :)

  • Juche preaches "self-reliance." Citizens of the DPRK commonly are told by the media and government [one in the same] that they need nothing from other countries. I find it LOL worthy how shitty everything North Korean made looks. Looks like Kim Jong-il better kidnap some more Japanese guys and teach them how to make a laptop that doesn't look like it uses Windows 95 as an OS

  • And WHAT for they will use the laptops,as I know, North Koreea not heaving internet connections ?!?!?!?!?!?? Very strange !

  • wow......

  • wow, good for north korea. they're only 20 years behind current technology and design.

  • They make computers but their microfones has wires?

  • WINDOWS 7 ? XD OR 89 ?!

  • Wow 64mb of Ram, thats quite impressive if you compare it to 1950 technology lol.

Gee my American computer has 16GB RAM only 256 times more powerful... rofl

  • That factory looked awfully quiet...

  • OMG thats PURE powerful, PURE technology, with that super VGA 7" screen 320x240 resolution, with no wifi, no rj45, only "vord, not word", linux red star, 214mhz, 64mb ram, 16mb integrated graphics... THE EVOLUTION OF MODERN ERA

  • 2011? you mean 1995

  • MACBOOK PRO NORTH KOREA VIRSION...LOL

  • @BanditV8racer lol XD'''

  • About as powerful as a Vic 20.

  • even pacman "hanged"

  • they made 100000....00000 so that Kim Jung Il can get another one when he get frustrated cause of lagness and break it

  • What good are laptops when your people have almost no food and no electricity?... It is pointless for North Korea to manufacture its own laptops. For one, the only people who would have computer access are probably the ~1,000 families who 'administer' the whole country under Kim and his son. But since they comprise the elite, they wouldn't be given NK-made laptops--they'd get foreign laptops that actually work. Same with autos--the elite get Mercedes, not some homemade shit brand.

  • @elchiu Lack of arable land, that's why there dont seem to be any food.

  • @elchiu The same reason China manufactures a lot, the workers are paid less than in other countries (even China) so it's cheaper to produce and can be sold abroad at a competitive price. The profit can be spent on food or developing infrastructure so that they can have food or electricity in the future.

  • @elchiu It's just propaganda. Nothing less. Nothing more.

  • @elchiu shadtap! do not question the policies of our great leader*!

    *sic

  • Do the North-Koreans have even own version of Windows?

  • @MrSuurijohtaja

In fact they use a special made version based on linux.

  • @TensonFlo That is probably the easiest way.

  • If I on facebook in North Korea, perhaps the only person I see is Kim Jong Il....

  • I want one! Is this limited edition? lol Hope I can run MW3 on it...

  • @LaggedBeta you'd be lucky to run pong on it

  • @thelaughingman79 I don't even think you could run solitaire on the damn thing.

  • whats the price of this shit ? :))

  • 99999999999999999 GB ram memory

  • Does it run Battlefield 3?

  • Does it run Doom?

  • I bet those computers don't get viruses, and they last a lot longer than the shitty computers in the U.S.

  • @InfiniteUniverse88 They run on a Linux based OS. They could probably get viruses, but because internet access in North Korea is limited, the populace would probably be unable to find a way to get one.

  • @CapitalistOverlord What I meant was under communnism people wouldn't feel as compeled to create a virus in the first place.

  • @InfiniteUniverse88 Maybe you have a shit computer but mine is tight as fuck.

  • @weewoodeal That won't stop a virus from slowing down or killing your computer. It's only a matter of time.

  • Explanation: Cutting-edge North-Korean technology sector now reached the level of reverse-engineering and building the IBM 80286 processor clocked at 10 mHz...extra features include 2-color LCD display!!!

  • Where can I buy one?

  • New technorogicoru advancerments brought by Gleat Reader to er peepro! We nao make raptops wif Commander Keen and new game, Doom!

  • I wonder if those pc's can run Minecraft?

  • Yep, defiantly a leader in modern technology. .... In 1964

  • People can rag on North Korea all they want, but this video clearly shows that they were manufacturing netbooks in the 70's.

  • Comment removed

  • whats it running? 1 mhz processor?

  • Guaranteed for 3 days.

  • the computer itself look very modern, but the OS looks very 80s.

  • is Internet allowed in NK??

  • I hear NK laptops either use English Windows XP or Red Star Linux. Yeah, they have Linux.

  • do they come with wireless and bluetooth?

  • in north korea u buy Kimpple

  • These are former GDR Laptops from 1980s GDR Manufacturer VEB Robotron Leipzig!

  • I want a north Korean Iphone!

  • Will it run MW3? :P

  • Are these for cyber terrorists??????

  • Its an 8 bit computer with a Monochrome monitor it weights 23.7 pounds, dual 5.25 in (13.3 cm) single-density floppy drive, and a 20 megabyte hard drive. The inventor of this PC and the world is no other than the great Architect,Economist, Engineer, and trick of all trades first man on the moon and in space KIM JONG Il

  • @Dusty696969 You do realize NK do have flat screen TVs and touch screen laptops, right? :P They are a developed nation, regardless of their 'issues'.

  • @aleronstube Well then maybe they should get new cameras because there movies and videos all look like crap. The only "developed" part of that country is Pyongyang, and that looks to be developed maybe to the early 90's. They still sale what looks to be TV's from 1992. Maybe places for show have flat screens. Whats funny about places that sale things like TV's are to perfectly set up. Its all a big show. Its so sad.

  • @Dusty696969 You’ll find a lot of their videos actually are in HD, take a look at their military parade in 2010. I’d say NK is more technologically advanced than the USA, because at least NK make their own equipment. While some of it is not as advanced as what you would find in Japan, at least they make it themselves. Meanwhile, take a look at the proud ‘Made in China’ or ‘Made in Japan’ logo you’ll find on every one of so-called ‘American’ electronics.
